DISPOSITIF POUR SUPPORTER ET GUIDER LES PORTES.
La présente invention a pour objet un dis - positif pour supporter et guider les portes, de manière à les amener en position convenable pour qu'elles puissent être fermées ou ouvertes avec facilité, et à les maintenir en position correcte dans le cham - branle lorsqu'elles sont fermées.
Il arrive en effet quelquefois, par suite du gauchissement ou du tassement du plancher, ou pour toute autre cause, que le pêne ne soit pas en posi - tion correcte pour pouvoir pénétrer dans la gâche correspondante, et que par suite on rencontre des difficultés pour fermer ou ouvrir la porte.
On supprime cet inconvénient, conformément à l'invention, en prévo'yant un dispositif pour maintenir laporte en position convenable à chaque instant. Ce

dispositif est constitué par des organes de guidage portés respectivement par la porte et par le chambranle ou la serrure, et qui coopérent, lorsque la porte arrive au voisinage de sa position de fermeture, pour l'amener.,et la maintenir en position correcte de fermeture.
Ces, organes de guidage peuvent être constitués conformément à l'invention par un piton ou un galet, porté par la porte ou le chambranle, et par ,une rai- nure ménagée dans l'élément opposé, chambranle ou porte, et dans laquelle le piton ou galet vient se loger et être guidé lorsque la porte arrive en po - sition de fermeture.
Conformément à l'invention ces organes se- ront établis de préférence de manière à *être peu coûteux à fabriquer et à entretenir.
On a représenté à titre d'exemple sur les'des- sins ci-joints un mode de réalisation particulier de la présente invention.
La figure 1 est une vue en élévation de la plaque d'une serrure pourvue d'un piton à galet dis- posé conformément à l'invention; les autres parties de la serrure, bouton,etc... et la porte, sont re - présentées pour faire comprendre le fonctionnement.
La figure 2 est une élévation de la plaque ou sont ménagées les gâches; elle montre la rainure dans laquelle le galet est guidé et vient reposer ; les parties correspondantes du chambranle sont représentées pour mieux faire comprendre l'invention.
La figure 3 représente, partie en coupe et partie en élévation le dispositif conforme à l'inven- tion appliqué à une porte, quand cette porte est fermée.

La figuré 4 est une vue en élévation du piton à galet fixé à une plaque séparée destinée à être montée sur le bord d'une porte.
La figure 5 est une vue en perspective du piton à galet représenté figure 4.
La figure 6 est une vue séparée de la plaque qui coopère avec la plaque et le galet représentés figure 5; elle montre la rainure ou fente dans la - quelle s'engage le galet.
En se reportant aux dessins, la figure 1 montre une porte 8 comportant une plaque d'extrémité 9, des écussons 10, des boutons 11, un pêne 12, et un pène en biseau 13. Sur la plaque 9, fixée à la porte par des vis 15, est disposé le piton à galet 14.
La figure 2 représente le chambranle corres - pondant 16 comportant un évidement approprié destiné à recevoir le piton à galet 14, le pène à biseau 13 et le pêne 12 quand la porte est fermée. A ce chamb - ranle est fixée une plaque 18 comportant des gâches 19 et 20 pour le pène et le pène en biseau et une rainure 21 pour le piton à galt.
Comme on peut le voir plus clairement sur la figure 6, la rainure 21 pour le piton à galet comporte des plaques de guidage transversales 22 qui vont en s'écartant vers l'extérieur, vers l'extrémité ouverte de la rainure. Comme on peut le voir figure 3 le piton à galet 14 comporte un piton 23 rivé dans la plaque 9, un galet 24, et une tête de piton plus large 25.
En fonctionnement, la plaque qui porte le piton à galet est fixée à la porte, le chambranle est entaillé d'une manière appropriée, et la plaque comportant la rainure du piton à galet est fixée au

chambranle. Lorsque la porte approche de sa position de fermeture, le galet 24 vient rencontrer les plaques d'appui 22 de la rainure 21, et est guidé jusque dans la rainure proprement dite. Comme les dimensions de cette rainure ne permette qu'un faible jeu au galet 14, on se rend compte facilement que la porte 8 est guidée de manière à reprendre chaque fois à peu près la même position, lorsqu'on la ferme, et il en résulte que le pène 12 et le pène en biseau 13 se trouvent en position convenable pour pouvoir pénétrer dans @ leurs gâches respectives 19 et 20.
On se rendra compte facilement que cette disposition diminue considé - rablement les efforts exercés sur' les charnières, que le pêne et le pêne en biseau peuvent facilement se placer dans leurs gâches et que l'on peut fermer la porte plus commodément.
On pourra bien entendu apporter de nombreuses modifications de détail'au dispositif qui vient d'être décrit sans sortir du domaine de la présente invention, qui n'est pas limitée bien entendu, au mode de réali- sation représenté.

The present invention relates to a device for supporting and guiding the doors, so as to bring them into a suitable position so that they can be closed or opened with ease, and to maintain them in the correct position in the frame when 'they are closed.
In fact, it sometimes happens, as a result of the warping or the compaction of the floor, or for any other cause, that the bolt is not in the correct position to be able to penetrate into the corresponding keeper, and that consequently difficulties are encountered to close or open the door.
This drawback is eliminated, in accordance with the invention, by providing a device for maintaining laporte in a suitable position at all times. This

device consists of guide members carried respectively by the door and by the doorframe or the lock, and which cooperate, when the door arrives in the vicinity of its closed position, to bring it., and keep it in the correct position of closing.
These guide members can be constituted in accordance with the invention by a stud or a roller, carried by the door or the jamb, and by a groove formed in the opposite element, jamb or door, and in which the eyebolt or roller is lodged and guided when the door reaches the closed position.
In accordance with the invention these members will preferably be set up so as to be inexpensive to manufacture and maintain.
A particular embodiment of the present invention has been shown by way of example on the accompanying drawings.

Figure 4 is an elevational view of the roller eyebolt attached to a separate plate intended to be mounted on the edge of a door.

Figure 6 is a separate view of the plate which cooperates with the plate and the roller shown in Figure 5; it shows the groove or slot that the - which engages the roller.
Referring to the drawings, Figure 1 shows a door 8 having an end plate 9, escutcheons 10, buttons 11, a bolt 12, and a bevel bolt 13. On the plate 9, attached to the door by screws 15, the roller eyebolt 14 is arranged.
FIG. 2 shows the corresponding frame 16 comprising an appropriate recess intended to receive the roller eyebolt 14, the bevel bolt 13 and the bolt 12 when the door is closed. To this chamber is fixed a plate 18 comprising keepers 19 and 20 for the bolt and the bevel bolt and a groove 21 for the gallows eye.
As can be seen more clearly in Figure 6, the groove 21 for the roller eyebolt has transverse guide plates 22 which go outwardly towards the open end of the groove. As can be seen in FIG. 3, the peg with a roller 14 has a peg 23 riveted in the plate 9, a roller 24, and a larger peg head 25.
In operation, the plate which carries the roller eye is fixed to the door, the doorframe is notched in a suitable manner, and the plate having the groove of the roller eye is fixed to the door.

It will readily be appreciated that this arrangement considerably reduces the forces exerted on the hinges, that the bolt and the beveled bolt can easily be placed in their keeps and that the door can be closed more conveniently.
It is of course possible to make numerous modifications of detail to the device which has just been described without departing from the scope of the present invention, which is not of course limited to the embodiment shown.
