Advanced DC and AC electric motor.
The present invention relates to improvements for electric motors specially constructed to operate with direct current and relates to a simple and practical method of adapting very economically, a motor to be operated with alternating current as well.
According to the present invention, this result is achieved by suitably dividing the surface of the poles by cuts or holes passing through the solar masses and by making dead-end holes or by inserting behind these pole masses. creating niches intended to be closed by suitable plugs after partial filling with soft iron filings or other magnetic metals,
This filings acts advantageously either by closing the magnetic fields variable by intensity and by direction through the most suitable points, or by appreciably increasing the efficiency of the motor and by reducing the parasitic currents of the stator.
Fig.l shows an axial section of an electric motor

direct current having two polar expansions modified to operate at alternating current according to the present invention.
FIG. 2 shows an alternative embodiment of the said invention.
In these figures, it is shown how an electric motor with direct current constituted by a frame 1 established in one piece with the poles 2-2 'in malleable iron, comprises, in the pole masses, sections 9 completed by significantly larger holes 10. In these same pole masses, holes 6 are drilled, intended to be closed by the plugs 8 after partial filling with two iron filings 7.
In the case shown in fig. 1, the sections 9 of the poles 2-2 ', are oriented radially and away from each other at an angle equal to that of the sections 11 of the drum rotor 4, on which the winding is established at delta,
In this case, the niches to be partially softened by iron filings are one in number for each polar mass.
However, the shape of these niches could be established differently from that shown in the drawing and the actual number of these niches could vary. Thus fig. 2 shows another polar mass with two niches partially filled with filings of iron.
In the case of fig, l, it is assumed that the motor is at rest (without passage of current), so the iron filings are shown piled up at the bottom of the niches.
Fig.2, on the contrary, shows a supposedly moving motor; the filings are continuously in movement in the niches, orienting themselves as it is represented.
It is understandable that it is possible to freely change the shape and replacement of the cuts or holes 8,9, which, in the case of blades established by means of packs of plates, could also be omitted (however. Even in in this case, it is advantageous to provide in the packet of plates suitable shaped niches which can be filled with filings of

soft iron, then which then they improve the orientation of the variable magnetic fields while reducing the losses by the parasitic currents of the stator.
