Sand mixing machine.
The present invention relates to a sand mixing machine, comprising a mixing body mounted vertically or horizontally and serving mainly to mix molding sand for foundries, its novelty residing in the use of a hollow mixing body shared by radial ribs in a number of chambers and receiving rapid rotational movement, and a ring which surrounds the hollow body at a certain distance.
The accompanying drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the object of the invention. The fig.l is a longitudinal section, fig. 2 a section along line A-B of fig.l, and fig.3 a section along line C-D of fig. 2 of the machine with axis mounted vertically. Fig. 4 is a longitudinal section, Fig. 5 a rear view with partial section, and Fig. 6 a partial plan view of the machine with a horizontally mounted axis.

From figs. 1 to 3, a plate-shaped plate b is fixed under a bearing housing a open in its front half, and these two parts are fixed invariably, for example to the wall by means of a console c.
In the central hub d. of the bearing body a is vertically disposed an axis e which carries, at its lower end, a hollow body consisting of a wall f in the form of a plate and a wall of annular shape and being suspended below the plate 1. The plates f and are at a certain distance from each other, and the internal void thus formed is divided into chambers by a number of ribs i. The ribs i are, on their working face, hollowed out in the form of troughs, as shown in FIG. 3, and are usefully made of brass, bronze, or other rust-resistant material.
Into the circular recess of the plate g penetrates a bent sheet k, the lower edge of which does not go completely so far as to press it. The annular gap thus formed can be enlarged or reduced by raising and lowering the hollow body, on the exe e, by means of a nut. 1.
On the plate f are provided a few dowels m of any shape and size located inside the sheet k, and to the sheet 1 ± is attached, on the open side of the bearing body a, a hopper 11. The bent sheet k has, according to the drawing, the shape of a funnel, but it can also be bent at a right angle and coincide with the inner edge of the bearing body a.
The plate b is surrounded, on its edge, by an annular sheet o surrounding the hollow body a certain distance, extending to under its lower edge and which can be moved in height by means of screws p or another way.
The hollow body receives, according to the drawing, a rapid rotational movement of an electric motor q attached to the machine. But the order can also take place in another way.

The sand is introduced into the hopper n, distributed by the dowels m, arrives in the chambers of the hollow body f -g, is thrown out by the rapid rotation of the latter and is, in this, intimately mixed as a result of the friction on the walls of the hollow body. The sand is then thrown against the ring o, thus undergoes a new mixture and falls on the ground or in containers placed under the machine.
According to Figs. 4-6, the hollow body constituted by the plate-shaped wall f, the annular wall g and the ribs i is mounted on a table s etc ..., '11 by means of an axis horizontal r and is controlled by the horizontal electric motor t. The annular wall is curved in the shape of a bell, so that the sand is thrown out in the direction of the arrow in fig. 4 and against the ring o.
The annular wall g can be provided, on its periphery, with a number of slightly oblique paddles u, and the pla - que..9 :. may have holes v. In this way a current of air is sucked in which throws the mixed sand out of the o ring.
The machine is of a very simple construction, it does not have any elements which can be damaged, for example by nails, stones etc. possibly in the sand, and its yield is high.
