<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

AUTOMATIC RECLAIMING GRAMOPHONE WITH ELECTRICAL CONTROL
EMI1.1
rn.rrrrwlr, nr, wrrwW wa.rwrrwrinwwww4rrwW lrrrrrrllwrvilIPwrnlwW rrwwrr
Electrically controlled automatic advertising gramophones are known, for example as described in Belgian patent N 3399616 of January 12, 1927.
But this advertising gramophone has the disadvantage that the conjunction and disjunction, as well as the reversal of the engine, take place by means of a cylinder control device, complicated and expensive, and that in addition, in the event of disturbances in the electrical arrangement, finding the fault or damage often requires a lot of time.
The advertising gramophone according to the invention is not only very simple, but also the arrangement is visible so that disturbances occur only rarely, and that, if they do occur, they can be suppressed directly.

by unspecialized persons,
The device according to the present invention, device comprising an electrically actuated wax roller on which several exclamations are successively recorded, and a motor always rotating in the same direction, is characterized in that a device for interchangeable advance, provided with intervals, is actuated in synchronism with the wax cylinder and the movement of the sound emitter or acoustic box,
the intervals of this device agreeing with the distances which the sound transmitter must cover for successive calls and for reverse or recall, and that with this advance device cooperates an adjustable lever which, at each interval, interrupts the current flow to the drive motor and any groups of lamps, and is actuated again by the motor, by means of instantaneous current shutoff, and so on, until all exclamations have been reproduced, after which the sound emitter is moved away from the wax roll and returned to the initial position.
The accompanying drawings show, by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the present invention.
Fig. 1 is a side view and
The freeze 2 is a top view of the device.
Fig. 3 is a side view, partly in section, and shows the reversing device for the movement of the sound emitter.
Fig. 4 is a circuit diagram.
The electrically controlled and automatically operated advertising gramophone consists of an electromotor 1, with a suitable model speed regulator, not shown in the drawings. The motor 1 is provided with a pulley 2 which, by means of the belt 3 and the tensioner roller 4, actuates the pulley 5 of the shaft 6 with drum 8, drum on which the wax roller

9 is fixed. In addition, a toothed wheel
10, which actuates a toothed wheel 11, provided on the worm shaft 12 The worm shaft 12 is provided with a right-hand pitch of little inclination for the forward motion of the sound transmitter 15 The toothed wheel 11 cooperates with the toothed wheel 13 which is fixed on the screw shaft 14; this shaft is provided with a left-hand thread with rapid pitch for the return of the sound transmitter 15.
The worm shaft 14 acts on the worm wheel 16 with toothed wheel 17, which acts on a toothed wheel 18 with plate 19 mounted on this wheel and provided with an ascending track 20, the highest point of which passes vertically in the lowest starting point. The toothed wheel 18 cooperates with a toothed wheel al, while an advance plate 22 is interchangeably fixed on the axis of this toothed wheel 21 The advance plate 22 therefore rotates in synchronism with the 'screw shaft 12, which moves the sound transmitter forward 15.
The advance plate 22 is provided with notches 23, while the intervals 24 correspond with the lengths of the exclamations to be reproduced successively. A rotating pawl 25 acts on the feed plate 22, the end of which acts on a resilient switch 26 provided in the current supply of motor 1, a switch to which a second instantaneous switch 27 has been coupled in parallel.
The shaft 6 of the wax roller 9 and the two screw shafts 12 and 14 are parallel. Between the two, a fixed axis 28 has been mounted which serves as a guide for the bridge 29. The sound transmitter 15 can turn on this axis 28 On the pot 29 are two threaded cheeks 30 and 31, one of which is s 'engages each time in the thread of the tree! 2 for forward travel, or in the thread of the shaft 14 for the reverse of the sound transmitter 15, depending on whether Qand transmitter is on the path of go or return.
The bridge 29 thus rotates on the guide axis 28, so that the needle of the sound transmitter 15 rests on the wax roller 9 during advancement and moves freely during the return. v
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The sound emitter 15 is lifted by the following device:
The bridge 29 is provided with an extension 32 equipped with a small roller or a rotating ball 33. The roller 33 moves, during the advancement of the sound transmitter 15, on a rolling surface 34. At the end of this surface 34, there is a fork 36, which is subjected to the pressure of a spiral spring 35 and rests on the rising track of the plate 19. The operation is as follows: The sound transmitter 15 moves from right to left and rests on the wax roller 9.
If the switch 27 is pressed, the motor circuit is closed and the motor 1 kicks in, while the wax roller 9 advances slowly, because the threaded cheek 30 engages in the thread of the shaft 12. As soon as possible as the motor 1 begins to turn, the described transmissions rotate the feed plate 22, and the pawl 25 is lifted out of the notch 23, so that the switch 26 is closed and remains in the conjunction position until the pawl 25 falls back into the next notch 23, whereupon switch 26 is open and motor 1 is deprived of power.
The conjunction period matches the time the sounder needs to travel the necessary path for the exclamation or call in question? This game is repeated with each establishment of current, by means of the switch 27, until the sounder 15 has emitted all the exclamations and the roller 33 has reached the end of the surface of the machine. bearing 34, the extension 32 then being between the ends of the fork ** che 36, while the spring 35 is bandaged, because the fork 36 has reached the highest point of the track 20.
As soon as the roller 33 is now free from the running surface, the extension 32 is pressed, by means of the fork 36 and the spring 35, down on the lowest point of the track 20 and the transmitter. sound is raised, so that
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
this transmitter, released from the wax roller 9 and from the part 30, is released from the screw shaft 12, while the threaded part 31 now engages in the screw shaft 14, so that the reverse gear begins with accelerated speed. The roller 33 presses from below against the tread surface 34 until it disengages from this surface at its end, and the sound emitter 15 passes by its own weight back to the position. resignation.
For the duration of this reverse or recall, the track of the advance plate 22 is united and does not have notches. so that the current remains established. At the end of reverse gear, the pawl 25 falls again into a notch 23, so that the motor 1 is disconnected. During this backward movement, the spring 35 may be partially loaded by the upward path of the plate 20.
Several advance plates 22 can be put into action so as to alternately establish or cut several circuits of lamps, motor, or other circuits. @
As it is necessary to provide for each roll of wax, bearing a determined series of exclamations, a determined advance plate, this plate 22 is interchangeable.
