<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

Pile fabric with bamboo loops and terry fabric thus manufactured. Technical field The present invention relates to a pile fabric, more particularly a terry fabric. The invention also relates to the improvement of the technical and external appearance and characteristics of the terry cloth thus obtained.
Background of the Invention According to the current state of the art looped fabrics such as terry cloth, from which, among other things, bath towels are made, loops are drawn from the supplementary warp or weft thread and attached to the fabric or base layer. The ground fabric generally consists of a woven backing. The bonding of the ground fabric can be, but is not limited to, a linen, panama or twill bond. The loops are usually made from cotton or another fiber which is not always biodegradable, as well as the bottom layer to which these loops are attached. In technical literature one also speaks of pile fabric where the pile is formed by warp or weft. These fabrics are referred to as warp and weft pile fabrics respectively.
In addition to cotton, other fibers of natural or synthetic origin are also known. More specifically with regard to terry, cotton fibers are preferred.
The main characteristics of these fabrics are the loops that are usually, but not necessarily, along both sides of the base fabric.
The main purpose of these fabrics is to use as a towel to dry the body.
This implies a large number of specific requirements, including good water absorption; a certain flexibility; an acceptable tightness of the loops; good authenticity: the towels must be resistant to cooking wax, sunlight; towels must meet certain dimensions as determined by the customer.
The terry fabric also has other uses such as for floor mats (heavy duty), bathrooms and clothing.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Not all terry cloth is woven, knitted terry cloth is very much used as clothing. People also dare to use open woven terry to shave the loops or "hurt" them.
In this case, it is more likely to have a downy surface or, in the case of fully open shaved loops, a real velvet surface.
The current pile fabrics, and more particularly cotton bath fabrics, have the disadvantage that they shrink considerably as a result of washing. The extent to which this terry shrinks depends on the construction of this terry, the yarns used and its industrial finish.
Evenness of the loops on the terry cloth is also an important aspect.
Pole fabric is mainly used as cloths such as towels, bathrobes, but more recently also as a technical fabric in the application as hiking socks, for example.
Another aspect is that the loops, in particular the poles of the terry fabric, can easily stretch, which will lead to problems of looping out with normal use of the cloths.
Some terry fabrics absorb water less quickly, the colors of the fabric in the terry can also change / fade. Often the use of the terry cloth leads to distortion and one of the consequences can be that the fabric is broken.
The purpose of the present invention is to convert the aforementioned disadvantages into advantages through the use of fabrics. Another purpose is to provide a pile fabric with an efficient water absorption capacity.
To this end, the invention provides a pile fabric consisting of a cotton ground fabric, characterized in that the loop-forming fibers are bamboo.
The present invention, in particular the fact that the loop fabrics of the terry fabric are made from bamboo threads does not have these disadvantages. More specifically, various advantages are possible through the use of bamboo fiber on a cotton ground fabric. The present fabric of the invention is:
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Very well absorbent up to 50% better than the known cotton cloths), more particularly they have the property of being able to absorb water immediately. In addition, they can also absorb enough to be functional and quickly dry again if they have absorbed water.
The fabrics according to the invention can be optimized in strength, both in the longitudinal and in the short directions. In the text, fiber and yarn are used interchangeably, as well as the terms sponge cloth, pile fabric and loop fabric.
Although the softness of the terry fabric is a very subjective and difficult-to-substantiate technical feature, the pile fabric according to the invention feels softer than the known corresponding fabrics.
The fabric is assembled via densities (threads per cm), yarn numbers used (thickness of the threads), weight and loop length in such a way that a pleasant fabric is achieved which satisfies the above characteristics. The fabric according to the invention has 28 threads per cm. Preferably the yarns used in the loop chain are Ne 16/1 and it is 100% bamboo yarn, in the base chain is preferably a Ne 12/1 and also preferably in the base weft is a Ne 16/1. The weight of the cloth is between 450 and 700 grams / m2, and preferably about 600 grams / m2. The loop length is preferably between 1 and 1.4 cm and most preferably about 1.2 cm. As a result, a preferred fabric is obtained which extremely meets what the user expects from it i.v.m. loop resistance, water absorption, feel, flexibility, gloss.
Sponge cloths according to the invention can also be created in other ways, ie with the following ranges: threads per cm: 21 to 28 yarn number is loop chain: from Ne 12/1 to 24/1 (in single yarn),
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
yarn number weft from Ne 10/1 to 24/1 and weights from 250 to 700 grams / m2.
The "silky" gloss that is obtained with the present pile fabrics is an additional aesthetic advantage, the colors and the general aspect of the cloth combination of sponge and hem radiate - and give the range a refined luxury cachet, which can still be emphasized are discreetly woven into the bamboo drawing.
The antibacterial properties attributed to the bamboo fiber is primarily the element used for hygiene, such as, for example, hospital clothing. The airiness of the present pile fabric provides a pleasant wearing comfort; it is "cool" in the summer, especially with close-fitting clothing. By employing the bamboo loops, the present fabrics also have these advantages.
Thanks to the use of the bamboo loop fabrics according to the present invention, the aforementioned form requirements are met.
Example of a bath towel according to the present invention are presented below in a non-limitative manner.
With terry according to the invention, the loops are formed by a special chain.
The composition of a preferred towel therefore consists of: - a base chain: preferably in 100% cotton, where a strong thread is desired; the ground chain can also preferably be smoothly shaved; - a loop chain: preferably in usually also in 100% bamboo, optionally wholly or partially mixed with other cellulose fibers, preferably with a weak torsion to improve water absorption.
The bamboo loop chain is preferably shaved wire per wire: for example, one wire color a, another color b, etc. form a total number of wires with their corresponding color report; and - a ground weft, preferably consisting of a single thread and also preferably in 100% cotton,
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
Bath towels according to the invention are also possible where the chain consists of bamboo fiber (preferably 100%) and consists of single wire. This increases the flexibility, but these will be woven with a long loop, and this gives its own fabric image.
Bamboo yarn can be in single or twisted yarn. Mixing with other, whether or not, cellulose fibers can be done with single as well as twisted yarn.
We now already pay attention to the 2 possibilities of wire distribution as also indicated in figure 1: cotton ground and bamboo loop chain suitable per wire; cotton ground and bamboo loop chain per 2 threads suitable.
Other embodiments are explained below: - For completely solid terry cloth, the bamboo loop chain can be made in one color.
- Many bath towels contain "embroidery" into which fantasy wefts are woven.
These too can preferably be made of bamboo fiber.
- Some terry can be woven extra heavily for bathroom carpet for example.
It is also possible to knit bamboo fibers.
The terry cloth according to the invention can also serve for clothing: it is possible to use knitted terry cloth or a heavy woven design.
For special applications one can consider the bamboo loops provided on only one side.
Typical effects in a bath towel A bath towel according to the invention is carried out with a wire-per-wire warp in the loop wires. So: 2 colors, shaved 1 thread color a + 1 thread color b. We take 2 loop wires together into one chain unit, and with this unit we can 4
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
basic effects, which can be expanded up to 7 depending on the equipment of the weaving machine.
Conditions for a successful bamboo loop formation a) The binding must be applied correctly, and the loop-forming device must work with the binding in a good phase. b) The tension of the loop and floor chain must be optimal. c) The thread numbers in the chain and weft must be correct.
Furthermore, the weaving machine will have to be very precisely adjusted, especially with regard to the shedding and the operation of the temples.
As already mentioned, the 4 basic effects can be expanded with 3 others: - no loops along both sides; - turn on frills; - a second height can be applied.
Bamboo fiber is comparable to a regenerated cellulose fiber that is made from bamboo pulp. First the pulp can be purified by a process of alkaline hydrolysis and a multi-phase bleaching process. The pulp is then transformed into fiber. The physical parameters of the preferred form of bamboo are shown in Table 1 below. The value displayed may vary by 20%.
