<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
2a-b). Vervolgens wordt het tweede segment 2
<Desc/Clms Page number 9>

Segmented cover for tunnel with small diameter.
This invention relates to an assembly of a segmented cladding ring for a tunnel wall and a device for mounting the cladding ring according to the preamble of the first claim.
This invention also relates to a method for manufacturing a tunnel, to a segmented casing ring as part of the assembly, and to the device for fitting a casing ring against a tunnel wall as part of the assembly.
A commonly used technique for coating tunnels with a small diameter, d. ie a diameter of 200-4000 mm, uses a pressed tube, the ever-increasing tube length being pushed through the ground together with the drill shield.
However, this known technique has the disadvantage that with increasing length of the tube string, the frictional force increases. With increasing length of the pipe string and depending on the nature of the ground in which the tunnel is made, there is a risk that the frictional force increases to such an extent that the available pressing force for moving the pipe string is insufficient to overcome the frictional force, and often also that the tube strength becomes insufficient as a result of which the tube can collapse. With certain types of soil such as, for example, clay, the increase in friction is already considerable over small distances, so that the limits of the technique are already reached after a short drill length.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
In another known technique the tunnel is mined by means of a drill shield, this is a cylindrical casing in which there is a device for digging and removing the soil. A tunnel lining is applied as quickly as possible against the wall of the freshly mined tunnel part, so just behind the casing of the drill shield. The tunnel lining can for instance be manufactured from segmented rings, sprayed concrete, extrusion concrete, etc.
If there is a serious risk of earth collapsing, the tunnel lining is already mounted within the protection of the casing of the drill shield and, for example, mortar or other filler material is injected when the casing is moved forward between the lining and the tunnel wall.
Regarding the tunnel lining: one of the usual techniques is that of the segmented rings. The individual rings are divided into segments to allow them to be moved forward through the already drilled tunnel up to the drill shield. For mounting the segments against the tunnel wall or within the shield sheath protection, use is usually made of an erector located in the rear part of the sheath shield sheath. The known erector has the disadvantage that it is a complex and bulky device that is not suitable for use in small diameter tunnels. Moreover, practice has shown that the recording and placement of the segments by the known erector is a time-consuming activity.
This is because the segments must be moved through the front part of the tunnel one by one up to the drill shield, and rotated or tilted there until they have the appropriate orientation for mounting against the tunnel wall. In addition, human intervention is required for the operations of the erector, for which insufficient space is available in small diameter tunnels.
The object of this invention is to provide a solution to the problem of time-consuming and
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
complicated assembly of the segmented rings of a tunnel lining, in particular with small tunnel diameters.
This is achieved according to the present invention with the technical features of the characterizing part of the first claim.
The assembly of this invention comprises a segmented cladding ring for cladding a tunnel wall and a device for applying the cladding ring. The device comprises a movable undercarriage for moving the casing ring to the location in the tunnel where the casing ring is to be fitted. The longitudinal direction of the device extends in the longitudinal direction of the tunnel.
The device comprises means for supporting a segmented casing ring, in particular means for supporting the first upper segment, means for supporting a second and third segment arranged on opposite sides in the longitudinal direction of the first segment, and moving means for moving the first, second and third segment from the undercarriage in the direction of the tunnel wall.
By subdividing the casing ring into segments that are received on the chassis and that are tiltable with respect to each other, a compact unit is provided that can be moved in its entirety, through tunnels with a diameter that is smaller than the diameter of the casing ring.
The compact arrangement is achieved in particular in that the first upper segment together with the second and third segments enclose a central space for receiving a fourth and fifth segment, which are respectively tiltably connected to one side of the second segment opposite the one to the first segment connected side, and with one side of the third segment opposite the side connected to the first segment.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The invention is further elucidated with reference to the accompanying figures and figure description.
Figure 1 shows a drill shield for drilling a tunnel with a lining ring behind the drill shield.
Figure 2 is a view of the device for applying a segmented cladding ring against a tunnel wall.
Figure 3 is a view of the device for applying a segmented coating ring.
Figure 4 shows, in steps, the method for applying a segmented lining ring in a tunnel.
The device shown in Figs. 1 and 2 for mounting a casing ring against a tunnel wall comprises a movable undercarriage 11, which is arranged behind the drill shield 24. In order to provide the displaceability, the chassis 11 is provided with wheels 19, which are mounted on height-adjustable jacks 22, which allow to absorb and compensate for unevenness in the tunnel during the displacement of the chassis. The jacks 22 also provide the ability to move the chassis vertically, toward the top of the tunnel, and thus assist in fitting the segmented cladding ring.
The undercarriage shown in figures 1 and 2 comprises a rectangular frame 26 on which the jacks 22 are mounted on the underside. Mounted on the top of the base 11 is a second and third frame 27, 28 which extend in height relative to the base 11 for supporting a first, top segment 1 of the segmented casing ring 10. If desired, additional frames may being added. The support for the first segment 1 can further take any suitable form known to the person skilled in the art.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
Viewed in the longitudinal direction of the chassis 11, a first and second axis of rotation 18 ', 18 "are provided on opposite sides on which at least a first and second jack 17', 17" are placed. In the embodiment shown, four jacks are provided, two on each side of the chassis 11.
Viewed in the longitudinal direction of the undercarriage 11, means are provided on opposite sides of the undercarriage 11, on the second and third frame 27,28, for receiving ends of a first and second hinge 32,33. These means in fact form a guide for guiding the movement of the hinges in the direction of the top of the tunnel. These hinges ensure the hinged connection between the first and second 1.2 and the first and third segments 1.3 respectively. The hinges are preferably displaceable in the height direction of the chassis. In practice, this is achieved by being connected to jacks 17 ', 17 ".
The first jack 17 'is connected to the hinged connection between the first and second segment 1,2, and the second jack 17 "is connected to the hinged connection between the first and third segment 1,3.
In the embodiment shown, the hinges form the first and second support 14 ', 15 for supporting the first and second segment 1, 2, and the support of the first and third segment (14 ", 16), respectively. it is possible that the second and third segments 2,3 of the casing ring are kept folded in relation to the tunnel so that a more compact whole is obtained.
Preferably, the lining ring 10 is subdivided into at least five segments. On opposite sides in the longitudinal direction of a first upper segment 1, a second and third segment 2,3 are tiltably connected to the first segment 1. The first, second and third segments 1, 2, 3 enclose a central space 6
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
for receiving a fourth segment 4 connected to a side 24 of the second segment 2 opposite the side 21 connected to the first segment, and a fifth segment 5 connected to a side 35 of the third segment 3 opposite the side 31 connected to the first segment. Also the fourth and fifth segments 4,5 are preferably arranged tiltably with respect to the second and third segments 2, 3, respectively.
This tiltable arrangement makes it possible to accommodate the fourth and fifth segments in the central inner space 6 and to provide a compact whole without, however, being at the expense of the space required for receiving pipes, cables, etc.
The symmetrical suspension of the segmented covering element on the undercarriage makes it possible to use a relatively light undercarriage.
When applying the casing ring, the fourth and fifth segments are folded outwards until, together with the other segments, they form practically the circumference of a ring. This is shown in Figure 4.
Means are provided for keeping the fourth and fifth segments 4,5 folded inward. These means comprise, for example, a rope which is guided over a first and second pulley placed on the rotation axis 18 ', 18 ". The rope is connected to the free sides of the fourth and fifth segments, which are opposite the sides adjacent to the second and third segment By celebrating the ropes, the fourth and fifth segments are moved towards the bottom of the tunnel.The fourth segment is preferably hingedly connected to the second segment, the fifth segment is preferably hingedly connected with the third segment.This can be achieved by hinges fixed to the segments or by means of detachable hinges.
In a preferred embodiment, adjacent sides have 11.21, 13.31, 24.42, 35.53 of adjacent
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
segments a complementary surface to guarantee a better connection and to allow to absorb unevenness in the tunnel wall.
The complementary surfaces are preferably designed as a concave surface in which the complementary convex surface fits to improve the hingeability of the segments relative to each other and to prevent the occurrence of point contacts. The convex surface preferably has a radius of curvature (Rb) that is smaller than the radius of curvature (Rh) of the concave surface to allow hinges of adjacent segments relative to each other. The hinging is further facilitated by coating the contact surfaces of adjacent segments with a layer of an elastic material, for example plastic, for example bitumen. At the same time, the risk of water seeping in is reduced.
The length of the segments is preferably adjusted taking into account the diameter or diameter of the tunnel.
If the tunnel has a circumference Ot (considered in section), the length of the first, second, third, fourth and fifth segments (I1, I2, I3, I4, I5) in the circumferential direction of the cladding ring is chosen such that the sum of these lengths is smaller than the circumference Ot of the tunnel. This has as a consequence that an open space 7 remains in a fully unfolded state between the fourth and fifth segment 4,5, in which a closing piece can be placed in order to allow a maximum adaptability of the size of the casing ring to the tunnel cross-section.
The invention further relates to a segmented casing ring as part of the assembly described above and to a device for fitting a casing ring against a tunnel wall as part of the assembly described above.
Depending on the nature of the soil in which the tunnel is manufactured, various methods can be used for applying the coating.
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
In the case of cohesive, cohesive soil with minimal groundwater pressure, the tunnel lining can be placed directly in contact with the soil. The segments can be closed by using a wedge-shaped keystone or, for example, a punch or any other means known to the person skilled in the art that is placed in the opening.
In the case of more or less cohesive, non-cohesive soil with minimal groundwater urge, the tunnel lining can be placed within the protection of the casing of the drill shield. During the forward movement of the shield mantle, the segmented ring is expanded against the tunnel wall. The expansion is preferably done by means of a tensioning system. After tensioning the cover against the wall, one or more stamps are placed in the clamping opening, after which the clamping system can be removed.
In the case of incoherent soil with or without groundwater pressure, the tunnel lining is preferably placed within the protection of the shield mantle that forms part of the drill shield, and the space between the tunnel wall and the lining rings is filled by injecting, for example, mortar. The tunnel cladding rings are in this case provided with sealing profiles in rubber, the ring being closed by a wedge-shaped cladding element.
The method for applying a lining ring 10 against a tunnel wall 20 is shown in Figure 4 and can be described as follows. The undercarriage with the trim ring mounted thereon as shown in Figure 2 are moved through the tunnel to the location where a trim is desired. The first segment 1 is moved toward the top of the tunnel by moving the jacks 22 vertically until the first segment 1 substantially touches the wall (Figs. 2a-b). The second segment then becomes 2
<Desc / Clms Page number 9>
moved in the direction of the tunnel wall by means of protrusions mounted on the axis of rotation 18 'to the tunnel wall (Fig. 2ce). The fourth segment is folded out by celebrating the fastening rope via the pulley mounted on the axis of rotation 18 until it rests against the tunnel wall.
The third and fifth segments are placed against the tunnel wall in the same way (Fig. 2 f-i). The opening that remains between the fourth and fifth segment is filled with a closing piece 23 to allow the segments to close as optimally as possible against the wall (Fig. 2j).
The coating ring described above contains five segments. However, it is possible to add additional segments if this is preferable taking into account the practical circumstances.
