Abstract
A drink concentrate (B) in liquid (e.g. syrup) or dry (e.g. powder, granules, flakes or at least one tablet) form is stored inside the cup underneath a cover (C) made from a shape memory material. Hot liquid poured into the cup in order to prepare the drink causes the cover to revert to its original shape, preferably a spoon (D) or stirrer, which automatically opens the cover and allows the liquid to mix with the concentrate.

'Automatically opening cup for hot drinks'
The automatically opening cup for hot drinks is a cup that is pre-filled with a concentrate of the hot drink to be prepared (fig. 1 - B).
The concentrate is either in a liquid form (e.g., a concentrated liquid or a syrup), or has a dry form (e.g., powder, granules, flakes, or one or more tablets).
The concentrate is sealed with a lid (Fig. 1 - C) made from a material with a shape memory.
With shape memory it is meant that an original object, for example a spoon or stir-fry (Fig. 1 - D), is deformed into a lid which can take back its original shape under the influence of heat.
This shape-memory lid is thus arranged inside the cup, just above the concentrate, so that the remaining free space in the cup can be used to fill with the hot liquid to be mixed with the concentrate.
The transition temperature (Fig. 1 - Tg) at which the lid returns from its temporary state to its original state is recorded in the material used and is determined as a function of the preparation temperature of the drink.
The chosen transition temperature Tg is higher than the normal ambient temperature and lower than the preparation temperature of the hot beverage.
When the hot liquid is poured into the cup on top of the lid (which now serves as the bottom), when the transition temperature Tg is exceeded, the lid will return to its original state and under the influence of the forces thereby generated. peel off the cup wall (fig. 1 - A).
This will open the cup automatically and the hot liquid will mix with the concentrate (fig 1 - B).
The lid thus regains its original shape and function after the opening, for example a spoon or a stir-fry (Fig. 1 - D).
The solution can also be mixed manually with that spoon or stir-fry:
The cover can be attached to the cup wall in various ways, such as for example by adhesion or gluing or by mechanical fixation or clamping.
The shape of both the cup wall and the lid are selected in function of the fixing method used.
