<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

METHOD FOR FERTILIZING PLANTS IN HORTICULTURE.
The invention relates to a method for fertilizing plants in horticulture, wherein use is made of an irrigation irrigation system, with an amount of fertilizer dissolved in water according to a predetermined recipe, wherein a sample is taken from the plant substrate, the sample is taken analyzed for the nutrients present, on the basis of which a new food recipe is established.
In greenhouse horticulture, artificial substrates, rock wool and the like are mainly used, with nutrition and water being supplied according to the needs of the plant. This is done by means of an irrigation irrigation system based on drip control or with the ebb and flow system. The market gardener works with a standard nutritional recipe. In order to be able to properly estimate the needs of the plant, the content of nutrient elements is sampled once every ten to fourteen days.
With the analysis of the obtained samples, a food recipe can be adjusted that deviates from the standard food recipe.
It is known that the grower has two alternatives at his disposal.
The first alternative works with solid fertilizers in bags or liquid fertilizers in bulk, with the grower putting together the recipe himself in a so-called A and B bucket system, that is, two trays in which fertilizers that react unfavorably with each other can be mixed separately. The other alternative is liquid fertilizer in bulk which is injected into the water added to the plants by the "direct injection system". The method of injection is put together by the grower as a recipe himself.
The disadvantage of these known methods is that the use of solid fertilizers entails heavy lifting and the use of liquid fertilizers entails high costs. Moreover, the A-B baking system is
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
error-sensitive composition. With the injection system, a high investment is required for dosing and relatively expensive liquid fertilizers must be used.
The invention has for its object to obviate the above-mentioned disadvantages by providing a system in which use can be made of relatively inexpensive solid fertilizers and wherein the heavy manual work for the user, i.e. the grower, is avoided. The method according to the invention is distinguished in that the nutritional recipe is supplied to the supplier of the fertilizers, the fertilizers are deposited by the supplier in the prescribed ratio in at least one storage container, and the or each container is delivered to the user for further solution in water .
The advantage of the present invention is that the dosing takes place at the supplier, who immediately translates the requested recipe into a storage of the fertilizers according to the prescribed recipe in a container, preferably a flexible bag, also known as the big bag and that this container is delivered to the user, who only needs to dissolve the amount of fertilizers in the prescribed recipe in water.
After some time sampling will again take place, the user compile a new recipe, offer this to the supplier who will then offer the user the amount of fertilizers according to the modified recipe again for the next time.
The recipe is preferably offered to the supplier electronically, for example according to an internet instruction (ICT). The advantage of this is that the time required from offering the recipe to the supplier and supplying the fertilizer to the user can be considerably reduced. Moreover, the whole of the fertilizers according to the recipe may be fully automatic
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
without the supplier having to intervene, which prevents errors.
The advantages of the proposed method are obvious. No expensive dosing installation is needed, the D gardener uses cheap solid fertilizers, heavy labor is unnecessary, and the gardener can work virtually flawlessly.
The invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to a schematic illustration according to the appendix.
The figure 1 in the figure represents a cultivation system consisting of a substrate 2 that has been placed in a liquid container 2. The plants P grown on the substrate are irrigated with a random irrigation system, for example drip system, 4. This optionally takes place in a cycle, that is to say that the liquid with the fertilizers flows back into the trough 3 via the substrate 2, and then be added to the drippers again by means of the pump 5.
A sample is taken from the substrate each time by means of the sampling and analysis equipment 6, which by then produces a composition of the desired nutrients in the form of a recipe 7.
This recipe can be presented in electronic form to a computer system 8, which is sent via the internet 9 to a supplier's computer. This computer 10 then controls a weighing and dosing system
11, which uses a number of fertilizers from stock A, B, C, D, etc., whereby a container 12 can be filled with the fertilizers according to the desired recipe. Holder 12 is then transported by a means of transport, here indicated with a forklift truck, to the storage of the user of the cultivation system 1.
It may be that the fertilizers do not tolerate each other during storage, making it necessary to use two storage bags, 12, 12 ', which can then be emptied into a liquid container 13 and 13' that circulates with the liquid container.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The learning connection is by means of the pump 14 with supply line 15. The liquid in the liquid container 3 is thereby provided with the desired composition of the fertilizers according to the new formulation.
The whole method can be restarted after a while by a new sampling by means of the sampling analyzer 6.
The invention is not limited to the embodiment described above. Of course, the transport means, storage holders, cultivation method and transit of the electronic data can take place in any suitable manner.
