Deze klassieke techniek heeft als nadelen dat hij een zeer tijdrovende en precieze activiteit vergt op de werf ; dat extra materialen noodzakelijk zijn, zoals een intern steunprofiel dat toelaat dat het hoekprofiel kan worden vastgenageld, het hoekprofiel zelf en plamuur ; dat dit een vuil werk is omwille van het werken met nat plamuur ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
Met het inzicht de kenmerken volgens de uitvinding beter aan te tonen, zijn hierna, als voorbeelden zonder enig beperkend karakter, enkele voorkeurdragende uitvoeringsvormen beschreven, met verwijzing naar de bijgaande tekeningen, waarin : figuur 1 een traditionele uitvoering van een hoekconstructie weergeeft ; figuren 2 en 3 schematisch een eveneens bekende techniek voor het vormen van een hoekconstructie weergeven ; figuur 4 in doorsnede een hoekconstructie volgens de uitvinding weergeeft ; figuren 5 en 6 weergeven hoe de hoekconstructie van figuur 4 kan worden verwezenlijkt ; figuur 7 in doorsnede een variante weergeeft van een hoekconstructie volgens de uitvinding ; figuur 8 in doorsnede nog een variante van de uitvinding weergeeft ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
<Desc/Clms Page number 9>
<Desc/Clms Page number 10>
<Desc/Clms Page number 11>
<Desc/Clms Page number 12>

Corner construction in plasterboard or the like and method for realizing such corner construction, as well as accessories used herein.
This invention relates to a corner construction in plasterboard or the like, more particularly in a plate consisting of a core and a coating layer applied on at least one side thereof.
The invention also relates to a method for realizing such a corner construction, as well as to accessories used for this.
Traditionally, an outer corner is made of plasterboard by placing the plates that form the corner at the corner, placing a galvanized corner profile over it and then filling the whole into a smooth whole. The angle profile used for this purpose is primarily intended to provide protection to the corner against external impacts and, secondly, also to provide adhesion to the filler.
The disadvantages of this classic technique are that it requires a very time-consuming and precise activity on the construction site; that additional materials are necessary, such as an internal support profile that allows the corner profile to be nailed on, the corner profile itself and filler; that this is a dirty job because of working with wet filler;
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
and that the angle obtained as a result is no longer a right angle, which may be aesthetically objectionable, especially in the case of certain natural or artificial light incidence.
According to another known technique, a prefabricated corner construction is provided by milling an angle in the plasterboard sheet to exactly the underlying cardboard layer and folding the plasterboard sheet closed. This method offers the advantage that the corners can be manufactured in a workshop beforehand, so that on site only the installation has to be carried out without further finishing. In addition, the use of additional finishing materials is virtually excluded in this method. More specifically, no external corner profile, no filler and, in many cases, no internal fastening profile are required.
To date, however, this method has the major drawback that the outer corners obtained are no longer additionally protected and are therefore very sensitive to external impacts.
This makes such prefabricated corner constructions extremely suitable in the construction of ceilings and for wall sections at a height above the ground, but usually not suitable for walls up to the floor.
In order to still reinforce these last corner constructions, an external corner profile can then be fitted again, but this then results in the aforementioned drawbacks of the aforementioned classical technique.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The object of the invention is a corner construction that does not have the above-mentioned drawbacks.
To this end, the invention relates to a corner construction in plasterboard or the like, more particularly in a plate consisting of a core and a covering layer applied on at least one side thereof, characterized in that the plate is interrupted at the corner with the exception of the covering layer; that the plate is bent at the location of the covering layer so that two plate parts are formed which form an angle; and that a profile is enclosed between these plate parts.
Because a profile is enclosed between the plate parts, an impact-resistant corner construction is obtained. Because the plate parts still hang together, it is not necessary to use external profiles. Because the profile is enclosed, no thickening is obtained on the outside, so that the disadvantages of the above-described classical technique do not manifest themselves, in other words, the obtained angle is always perfectly straight, so that any light does not cause a disturbing effect.
The corner construction of the invention may form part of a prefabricated construction, in which plates and corners are cut and assembled in advance, with specific dimensions adapted to the application.
However, the corner construction of the invention is also possible with
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
standard dimensions are realized, such that the corner construction forms, as it were, a corner element, which only has to be cut to length, whereby the respective walls then have to be adapted to the corner element.
The invention also relates to a method for realizing such corner structures, either in a workshop or on a yard to realize custom corner structures for a particular application, or in a factory to realize standard versions in series.
According to the invention, this method mainly consists of successively milling the plate on one side, up to the other side of the covering layer, thereby realizing a seat for a profile, applying the profile at the location of the seat, and folding the whole into the desired angular shape. The whole is preferably glued at the corner. It is clear that the corner construction can be realized very easily and very precisely in this way.
In the most preferred embodiment, the enclosed profile is rod-shaped or has a rod-shaped portion. This provides an external angle that is much stronger than the reinforced angle obtained according to the traditional system, since the traditional applied corner protection profiles
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
have a hollow corner side that can be easily dented.
It is also clear that, according to the invention, the complete corner can be prepared in a prefabricated workshop, so that the corner on the construction site only needs to be mounted, without additional activities of finishing having to be performed. The traditionally required finishing materials are thereby saved.
With the insight to better demonstrate the features according to the invention, some preferred embodiments are described below, as examples without any limiting character, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: figure 1 shows a traditional embodiment of a corner construction; figures 2 and 3 schematically show a also known technique for forming a corner construction; figure 4 represents a corner construction according to the invention in cross section; figures 5 and 6 show how the corner construction of figure 4 can be realized; figure 7 shows in cross-section a variant of a corner construction according to the invention; figure 8 represents a variant of the invention in cross section;
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
figure 9 shows in perspective the profile used in the embodiment of figure 8.
As shown in figure 1, in a traditional corner construction 1, two plasterboard sheets 2-3 are placed at the corner with their ends against each other, against an internal support profile 4, and on the outside an external corner profile 5 is applied to this, which is put by means of filler 6 is withdrawn from view. Figure 1 makes it clear that the disadvantages mentioned in the introduction occur.
According to another technique already mentioned in the introduction, as shown in figure 2, a plasterboard plate 7 is started from, in which a milling 8 is applied to the bottom cardboard layer 9, and the whole as shown in figure 3 is corrugated, preferably against an internal support profile 10. It is clear that the obtained corner construction 11 has little resistance to impact.
In order to solve the above-mentioned drawbacks, the invention, as shown in figure 4, provides a corner construction 12 which is reinforced in a special way.
As is also the case in the embodiments of Figures 1 to 3, it concerns a corner construction 12 which is realized from a plate 13 consisting of a core 14 and one on at least one side 15 thereof, and
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
preferably as shown on both sides 15-16, coating applied, 17-18 respectively. It should be noted here that the invention is primarily intended for plasterboard panels, in which the core 14 consists of plaster and the covering layers 17-18 consist of cardboard, but it is not excluded that the invention may also be used in other types of panels which consist of a core and at least one coating layer.
The special feature of the invention consists in that the corner construction 12 is characterized in that the plate 13 is interrupted at the corner with the exception of the covering layer 17; that the plate 13 is bent or bent at the location of the covering layer 17, so that two plate parts 19-20 are formed which form an angle; and that a profile 21 is enclosed between these plate parts 19-20.
Preferably, the profile 21 abuts against the covering layer 17 as shown, thereby providing optimum resistance to impact, while the profile 21 is nevertheless hidden from view.
Preferably, the profile 21 is rounded at least on the side which adjoins the covering layer 17, such that a nice angle is formed and no sharp edges act on the covering layer 17. To achieve this, a rod-shaped profile can be used, which is preferably solid.
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
In the embodiment of figure 4, the profile 21 is completely enclosed, so that it remains perfectly in place.
The ends 22-23 of the plate parts 19-20 are mitered and butt against each other.
Near the corner, the different converging parts can be interconnected because the whole is glued together.
The method of the invention, for realizing the corner construction 12 of figure 4, is shown step by step in figures 5 and 6.
First, the plate 13, as shown in Figure 5, is milled on the side 16 to the coating layer 17, which is on the other side 15. Here, on the one hand, a recess 24 is formed with an apex angle X which in the case of a right angle is 900, and on the other hand a seat 25 which will subsequently function as a corner space for fitting the aforementioned profile 21.
Preferably, a suitable glue 26 is then applied to the fully executed surface, after which, as shown in figure 6, the rod-shaped profile 21 is applied in the seat 25 over the entire length of the plate 13. Then, as indicated by arrow Y, fold the plate parts 19-20 relative to each other and give the glue 26 time to come out
<Desc / Clms Page number 9>
to harden, a corner construction is created as shown in figure 4.
It is clear that in certain applications it is not excluded to avoid the use of glue.
Figure 7 shows a variant of the corner construction 12 of the invention, in which it is additionally reinforced by means of an internal corner profile 27, preferably an L-profile. This L-profile can be attached in any way. In Fig. 7 this fastening is effected with screws 28, but in a variant it will also be possible to use glue or the like.
The embodiment of figure 7 makes the use of an internal support profile 4, as shown in figure 1, unnecessary.
As shown in figure 8, the internal corner profile 27 can form a whole with the profile 21, for instance because they are connected to each other by means of a flange 29 which then takes place between the edges 22-23 of the plate parts 19-20. It is clear that the recess 24 is then appropriately designed so that the presence of the flange 29 would not have a disturbing effect when the plate parts 19-20 are folded at an angle.
<Desc / Clms Page number 10>
Figure 9 illustrates the composite profile 30 employed in Figure 8 for clarification. As visible, the flange 29 preferably connects to the corner of the L-shaped corner profile 27, in the direction of the bisector of the legs of this profile 27.
It is clear that the profiles 21-27-30 can have different cross sections. For example, instead of a rod-shaped profile 21, the flange 29 can be made longer, so that it comes to rest with its free end on the inside of the covering layer 17, so that this flange 29 itself will function as an angle reinforcement profile. The corner profile 27 does not necessarily have to be L-shaped, but can also consist of a hollow rectangular profile, a triangular profile or the like.
The flange 29 does not have to be solid and can also consist of a series of local connections that couple profile 21 to profile 27 at specified distances.
Profiles 21-27-30 can consist of different materials, such as metal, for example aluminum, plastic, etc.
As shown schematically in axis line in Figure 8, the corner structure 12 may form part of a standard corner member with plate members 19-20 extending over well-defined distances A and B and optionally
<Desc / Clms Page number 11>
equipped with chamfers 31-32 that allow adaptation to adjacent plates with a filler.
It is clear that the corner structures of Figures 7 and 8 can be realized in the same manner as has been explained above with reference to Figures 5 and 6.
It is clear that the invention also relates to the special auxiliary elements which are used to realize such corner construction 12, by which are meant the specially designed profiles, such as for instance the aforementioned composite profile 30.
It is clear that in all embodiments the whole may or may not be glued and / or screwed together, with or without the use of additional auxiliary elements.
Although the profile 21 is preferably rounded, this is not a necessity. According to a variant, an angular profile or a profile with a sharp edge can be used.
Although the embodiments shown in the figures always relate to angles of 900, it is clear that the invention also applies to corner structures which extend over other angles. The relevant profiles 27 and / or 30 are then of course adapted in shape.
<Desc / Clms Page number 12>
The present invention is in no way limited to the exemplary embodiments described and shown in the figures, but such corner construction, the method of realizing it and the auxiliary elements used therein, such as the composite profile 30, can of course be realized in different shapes without being outside the within the scope of the invention.
