<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>

Connecting rod drive for preparation floor of a combine harvester
The invention relates to a connecting rod drive for the preparation floor of a combine harvester, with two lateral connecting rods, each with one end articulated on the preparation floor and the other end held in rotation around a crankpin of a drive disc, eccentric to the axis of rotation of the drive disc.
In practice, the preparation floors, the sieving boxes and the return floors of combine harvesters are driven using two rods whose length is invariable. As, after the assembly of the aforementioned elements, it always happens that in particular the preparation floor is arranged eccentrically, until reaching the side walls of the frame of the machine, it is necessary to provide a device for bringing back this preparation floor in its middle position.
This is in practice achieved by the fact that the connecting rods are separated and shortened at the bearing sockets and that they are then connected again to the bearing sockets by welding.
In addition, tightening wrenches or adjustable connecting means have been incorporated in the connecting rods, in order to obtain a modification of their length.
All these measures are however very unsatisfactory, require time and above all are expensive and do not bring the desired effect.
The object of the invention is therefore to create a drive with connecting rods in a combine harvester both for the preparation floor and for the sieving box and the return floor, which is constructed according to the method described at the start and has the simplest, safest and most economical possible embodiment for
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
be able to precisely install the preparation floor as well as the screening box and the return floor in a simple, appropriate and quick manner.
This object is according to the invention achieved in that, around the crankpin of each drive disc is disposed an eccentric bearing, which can rotate around the crankpin for adjusting the length of the rod and can be fixed to the rod in each pivot position.
This eccentric bearing can be rotated 360 around the crankpin, in steps and partially also continuously, and it can then be rigidly connected to the rod in each pivoting position, by bolting or the like.
Other characteristics of the invention are included in the characteristics of the secondary claims, which represent advantageous and favorable developments of the solution according to the invention.
The invention creates an adjustable connecting rod drive for the preparation floor of a combine harvester, which allows, without modification of the connecting rod, an adjustment of the length position of the connecting rod and therefore an installation of the preparation floor of a position possibly inclined or offset towards the outside to its middle position.
To this end, the invention provides an eccentric bearing which is connected to one end of the connecting rod and is arranged on the drive disc.
This eccentric bearing is placed on the one hand on the crankpin of the drive disc, and cooperates on the other hand with the connecting rod and, due to the eccentric configuration of this bearing, the connecting rod is more or less close to or distant from the disc drive by pivoting the eccentric bearing, so that the preparation floor is installed in its middle position, transverse to its longitudinal direction.
The two connecting rods of the connecting rod drive, which are
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
each articulated by means of an eccentric bearing on the drive disc, and by means of another bearing on the preparation floor, are moved relative to each other, that is to say that is to say one rod is moved relative to the other or possibly, one rod is strongly displaced and the other is little, so that one obtains an easy installation of the preparation floor in its middle position.
After installation, the eccentric bearing is rigidly connected to the connecting rod by bolting, so that the length set for the connecting rod is then fixed.
This adjustment can be carried out extremely simply and quickly by loosening the screws, rotating the eccentric bearing and finally tightening the screws.
The other longitudinal end of the connecting rod remains in articulated connection with the preparation floor by means of a bearing with its own elasticity, this elastic bearing allowing a cardan type movement of the connecting rod relative to the preparation floor, so that in addition to the possibility of eccentric adjustment, there is also a possibility of autonomous compensation of the cardan type of the connecting rod. This possibility of adjusting the connecting rod drive showing a high degree of efficiency with easy handling is obtained from a small number of parts and can be carried out in the most appropriate and precise manner.
This drive with adjustable rods can be used not only for the preparation floor, but also for the sieving device and for the return floor of the combine harvester, so that here also a precise and reliable arrangement is obtained. of each of the constructive elements.
The invention also makes it possible to place in their central position, and with a reduced implementation, floors of
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
preparation, sieving boxes and return floors even located in positions very far from the middle position, without having to undertake any fundamental modification of the connecting rods on this occasion, because only the eccentric bearing and the elastic bearing are used and thus the connecting rods may be fitted at their longitudinal ends with the new bearings, and must therefore not be subjected to a large-scale test over time.
The eccentric bearings can, when the elements are very far from their central position, be turned by any number of degrees in opposite directions on both sides, which also allows a simple installation of the preparation floors mounted in an extremely unfavorable position.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is explained below in more detail using the drawings. In these drawings: FIG. 1 represents a schematic side view of the threshing-separation part of a combine with drive by connecting rods of the preparation floor, FIG. 2 represents a schematic plan view of the preparation bottom with driving with connecting rods , Figure 3 shows a side view of an adjustable eccentric bearing of the connecting rod drive, on a drive disc, for adjusting the length of the connecting rod, Figure 4 shows a plan view, partially in section, of the connecting rod drive with an eccentric bearing provided at one end of the connecting rod and an elastic bearing arranged at the other end.
The threshing-separation part of a combine shown schematically in Figure 1 has in a known manner a threshing drum (1), a threshing basket (2) associated with it, with a floor below
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
preparation (feed floor) (3), behind it, a screening device (4), a blower (5) associated with the preparation floor (3) and the screening device (4), above these two devices (3,4) a vibrating table (6) and below it a deflection floor (7).
The preparation floor (3) is hinged in an articulated manner in the frame of the combine harvester using oscillating levers (8,9), and the oscillating levers (9) are connected to a connecting rod drive (10) with which the preparation floor (3) is moved.
The connecting rod drive (10) has two lateral connecting rods (13), each with one end hinged to the preparation floor (3) by means of an oscillating lever (9), and with the other end held at rotation around a crank pin (11) of a drive disc (12), the crank pin (11) being located eccentrically with respect to the axis of rotation (12a) of the drive disc.
Around the crank pin (11) of each drive disc (12) is disposed an eccentric bearing (14) which can rotate around the crank pin (11) for adjusting the length of the connecting rod (13), and can be fixed to the connecting rod (13) in any pivoting position.
This eccentric bearing (14) can be connected to the connecting rod (13) by no pivoting movement, and is formed by a flange bearing. The connecting rod (13) surrounds by a bearing bore (15) a shoulder (14b) of the flange bearing (14), projecting towards the center from the flange (14a), and rests against the flange (14a) and is connected to the flange (14a) by screws (16).
An eccentric bearing bore (17) into which the crank pin (11) fits, with the interposition of a rolling bearing (18), is formed in the shoulder (14b).
The flange (14a) and the offset shoulder (14b) have the
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
basic shape of a circle, and several screw holes (19), such as threaded holes, through holes or the like, regularly distributed on a graduated circle in the flange (14a), around the shoulder (14b), are formed for a connection of choice with the connecting rod (13).
The two drive discs (12) are coaxial and are fixed in rotation by their common axis of rotation (12a) in the frame of the combine harvester and are driven by a drive.
The other end of the connecting rod (13) has an elastic bearing (20) allowing compensation in length and a cardanic movement of the connecting rod (13) which is connected to the oscillating lever (9) (the articulation) of the floor. preparation (3) through it.
This elastic bearing (20) consists of a bearing sleeve (21) welded to the end of the connecting rod (13), of an elastic cylindrical ring (22) made of rubber, elastic material or the like, inserted in this sleeve and serving as an intermediate layer, and of a sleeve (23) which is inserted therein and into which a pivot (9a) of the joint (9) penetrates.
To adjust the preparation floor (3) which, as shown in Figure 2 in lines and dots is located in an inclined position or outwards, in its middle position, one or the other connecting rod (13) is adjusted in length, depending on the position of the preparation floor (3) by turning the eccentric bearing (14) around the crankpin (11) and in the bearing bore (15), enough for the preparation floor (3) to take its position median (solid line in Figure 2). During this rotation, the connecting rod (13) is brought closer or distant longitudinally from the drive disc (12) and thus moves transversely relative to its longitudinal direction, by means of the elastic bearing (20) of the preparation floor ( 3), and is positioned in its
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
middle position.
When the preparation floor (3) has taken its middle position, the eccentric bearing (14) is connected to the connecting rod (13) using the screws (16), and the adjusted position is locked.
The elastic bearing (20) further allows a displacement of the gimbal type of the connecting rod (13).
An adjustable connecting rod drive (10) thus constructed can obviously also be used for the screening plant (4) and the return floor (7).
It also falls within the scope of the invention to produce the screw holes (19) in the form of oblong holes extending over the graduated circle, so as to allow, in certain areas, a continuous adjustment of the length of the connecting rods. (13) using the eccentric bearing (14) pivoting and immobilizable by the screws (16).
