Boîte métallique destinée à l'emballage de produits de peinture
La présente invention concerne une boite métallique destinée à l'emballage de produits de peinture, composée d'un corps de boite de forme quelconque, embouti ou à fond serti sur le bord inférieur du corps susdit, éventuellement d'une bague intérieure sertie sur le bord supérieur du corps de la boite et d'un couvercle apte à s'emboîter sur la boite susdite.
L'usage de boites métalliques pourvues d'une fermeture à couvercle est largement répandu depuis très longtemps pour l'emballage et l'expédition de produits de peinture, de colles et tout autre produit susceptible d'adhérer aux parois desdites boîtes.
De telles boîtes sont connues par le document EP-A-0 259 292 qui décrit une fermeture à couvercle étanche à l'air et réouvrable maintes fois.
La bague métallique est protégée de la corrosion par une garniture en matière synthétique élastique pourvue d'un épaulement périphérique, qui en position de fermeture est écrasé par le couvercle contre un rebord rabattu de la bague.
On constate toutefois, qu'une fois vide, il n'est pas possible de réutiliser de telles boites sans nettoyage préalable ni non plus de recycler aisément le fer-blanc en raison de la présence d'une couche de peinture ou de produit sur la paroi intérieure du corps

de la boite métallique. Il arrive fréquemment qu'à certains endroits, la tôle étamée, éventuellement couverte d'une couche de vernis est attaquée par l'action combinée et donc corrosive de l'air, de l'eau et des solvants contenus dans les produits de peinture ou de consommation emballés dans lesdites boites métalliques.
Or, la formation de rouille entraîne inévitablement la contamination du produit contenu dans ladite boîte.
Les parois intérieures d'une boîte vidée sont généralement souillées. La présence de taches indélébiles directement sur la tôle étamée rend impossible l'élimination des résidus de peinture et rend le recyclage des boîtes vides difficile.
La présente invention vise à réaliser une boite métallique réutilisable et/ou recyclable, conforme à une récente recommandation de l'Institut belge de l'emballage, laquelle préconise de réaliser les emballages en une seule matière aisément dissociable d'autres éléments d'emballage éventuels tels qu'une étiquette, une anse, un couvercle, etc...
Cet objectif peut être atteint avec une boîte métallique du type décrit dans le préambule de la revendication 1, à condition de munir ladite boite d'une enveloppe intérieure amovible en matière synthétique destinée à garnir les parois intérieures de la boite et à protéger la paroi intérieure de la boite des souillures par les résidus des produits qu'elle contient.

Le garnissage du corps de la boite à l'aide d'une enveloppe aisément amovible, bien que réalisée en une matière différente de celle du corps de la boîte, est conforme à la recommandation relative à la mise en oeuvre d'une seule et même matière dans la fabrication d'un emballage car elle permet de séparer entièrement les résidus de peinture, lorsqu'on retire l'enveloppe amovible. Ce retrait peut être réalisé mécaniquement en défaisant un encliquetage d'une bride de l'enveloppe soit par aspiration et arrachement de l'enveloppe.
La paroi latérale de la boite comprend au droit de l'extrémité du flan intérieur de la bague une nervure périphérique débordant extérieurement du corps de la boîte. Cette nervure est destinée à rigidifier le corps de la boîte. Dans cette nervure vient se loger un ergot ménagé le long de la bride de la garniture.
Ces particularités et détails de l'invention ainsi que d'autres, ressortiront de la description détaillée suivante, qui présente une forme de réalisation particulière de l'invention donnée à titre illustratif non limitatif et dans laquelle il est fait référence aux dessins ci-annexés.

Comme illustré dans les figures 1 à 4, une boite métallique 1 selon l'invention est formée d'un corps de boîte 2 à fond serti 3 de forme quelconque, par exemple

un manchon cylindrique en tôle étamée ou fer-blanc muni d'un fond rond serti sur le bord inférieur du corps de boîte.
La partie supérieure de la boite métallique est constituée d'une fermeture à couvercle constituée soit d'une bague intérieure 5, sertie sur le bord supérieur de la boite comme illustré dans la figure 2, et d'un couvercle 6 embouti à flanc 7 lisse, soit d'un bord supérieur roulé 8 extérieurement, d'une nervure périphérique 9 ménagée dans le corps de la boîte, au voisinage du bord roulé 8 et d'un couvercle 6 muni d'un ergot 10 périphérique, comme illustré dans la figure 4.
Le corps et le fond de la boite métallique reçoivent une enveloppe Il de matière synthétique élastique préformée, formant un gobelet ou récipient posé sur le bord supérieur de la boite et encliqueté de manière amovible contre la paroi latérale 12 de la boite 1 par un ergot 10 s'appuyant sur l'extrémité inférieure d'un flanc 7 intérieur rabattu de la bague 5, comme illustré dans la figure 2 ou dans une nervure 9 de la paroi latérale du corps de la boite comme illustré dans la figure 4.
L'élément nouveau mis en oeuvre dans la boite est la doublure ou l'enveloppe intérieure 11 synthétique préformée qui épouse et garnit la paroi intérieure de la boîte.
L'enveloppe 11 selon l'invention tapisse la paroi intérieure 12 de la boîte métallique et protège la tôle étamée d'être souillée par le produit que la boite métallique contient.

Le retrait de l'enveloppe 11 intérieure amovible en matière synthétique permet d'enlever et éloigner les résidus de peinture de manière à obtenir une boite métallique 1 parfaitement propre, du moins intérieurement. Si en outre, la boîte 1 est propre extérieurement et intacte, elle peut être réutilisée ou recyclée et ce recyclage peut se faire plus aisément.
L'habillage du corps 2 de la boite se fait en emboîtant une enveloppe 11 en forme de cuvette dans le corps de la boîte métallique et en cliquetant un ergot 15 de l'enveloppe sous l'extrémité libre du flanc 7 intérieur rabattu de la bague 5 de la boite métallique (figure 2) ou dans une nervure 9 périphérique ménagée dans la partie supérieure du corps 2 de la boite (figure 4).
L'enveloppe 11 destinée à épouser la forme du corps de la boite métallique peut être préformée complètement ou partiellement par thermoformage ou moulage. Si l'enveloppe est partiellement préformée, elle est alors une ébauche d'enveloppe en forme de soucoupe et est alors réalisée en matière synthétique souple étirable (figure 7).
Chaque enveloppe préformée ou partiellement préformée, forme une cavité dans laquelle peut s'emboîter le corps d'un autre étui, de manière à permettre leur empilement afin de faciliter leur rangement lors de l'entreposage et le transport. Elle est donc emboîtable, distribuable et gerbable avec d'autres enveloppes identiques, comme illustré dans les figures 5 et 6.

réalisées, de manière à présenter une épaisseur supérieure à celle du fond de la cuvette de manière à ne pas se déformer lors du thermoformage ou de l'étiration de la paroi de fond, par laquelle une enveloppe est formée pour recouvrir la paroi intérieure de la boîte.
Comme illustré dans la figure 8, cette zone annulaire donne naissance à un repli annulaire rigide 18 relativement effilé, approprié à l'essuyage d'un pinceau. La disposition de ce repli annulaire 18, le long du bord supérieur de la boite métallique, est particulièrement privilégiée puisque le repli est très accessible au pinceau et que les excès de produit de peinture retenus par le repli peuvent retomber à l'intérieur de la cavité délimitée par l'enveloppe.
Pour retirer d'une boîte vide, l'enveloppe 11 formant garniture amovible, il suffit d'introduire un tournevis 13 maintenu incliné dans un interstice 14 qui sépare la face inférieure de la bride 16 de l'enveloppe 11 et la face supérieure de la bague interne 5 de la boîte, de manière à pouvoir détacher la bride et éloigner l'enveloppe 11 loin du bord supérieur roulé 8 de la boîte.
Ensuite, on relève le tournevis 13 en prenant appui sur le bord supérieur roulé de la boite et on soulève l'enveloppe 11 de manière à retirer celle-ci du corps 2 de la boite 1. Une seconde méthode pour retirer l'enveloppe 11 consiste à aspirer l'enveloppe à l'aide d'un appareil de succion et à arracher celle-ci de la boîte.

Débarrassée de l'enveloppe amovible, la boite métallique suivant l'invention, peut être réutilisée ou recyclée, car elle est exempte de souillures.
Comme une boite métallique n'est réutilisable que si elle est intacte, il faut que la bague interne 5 soit plus solide et plus résistante que dans les boites métalliques classiques.
Dans ce but, la bague interne 5 est réalisée de manière à présenter des crénelures 16 comme illustré dans la figure 10.
L'invention s'applique aux boites métalliques ainsi qu'aux récipients composites du type décrit dans le brevet belge 885. 539.

Such boxes are known from document EP-A-0 259 292 which describes a closure with an airtight cover which can be reopened repeatedly.
The metal ring is protected from corrosion by an elastic synthetic lining provided with a peripheral shoulder, which in the closed position is crushed by the cover against a folded edge of the ring.

The upper part of the metal box consists of a lid closure consisting of either an inner ring 5, crimped on the upper edge of the box as illustrated in Figure 2, and a stamped cover 6 with smooth side 7 , or an upper edge rolled 8 externally, a peripheral rib 9 formed in the body of the box, in the vicinity of the rolled edge 8 and a cover 6 provided with a peripheral lug 10, as illustrated in the figure 4.
The body and bottom of the metal box receive an envelope II of preformed elastic synthetic material, forming a cup or container placed on the upper edge of the box and detachably snapped against the side wall 12 of the box 1 by a lug 10 bearing on the lower end of an inner flank 7 folded down from the ring 5, as illustrated in FIG. 2 or in a rib 9 of the side wall of the body of the box as illustrated in FIG. 4.

The removal of the removable inner envelope 11 of synthetic material makes it possible to remove and move away the paint residues so as to obtain a perfectly clean metal box 1, at least internally. If in addition, the box 1 is clean on the outside and intact, it can be reused or recycled and this recycling can be done more easily.
The dressing of the body 2 of the box is done by fitting a casing-shaped envelope 11 into the body of the metal box and by clicking a lug 15 of the envelope under the free end of the inner flank 7 folded down from the ring 5 of the metal box (Figure 2) or in a peripheral rib 9 formed in the upper part of the body 2 of the box (Figure 4).

If the envelope is partially preformed, it is then a blank of saucer-shaped envelope and is then made of flexible, stretchable synthetic material (FIG. 7).
Each preformed or partially preformed envelope forms a cavity in which the body of another case can fit, so as to allow them to be stacked in order to facilitate their storage during storage and transport. It is therefore nestable, distributable and stackable with other identical envelopes, as illustrated in Figures 5 and 6.

made, so as to have a thickness greater than that of the bottom of the bowl so as not to deform during thermoforming or stretching of the bottom wall, by which an envelope is formed to cover the inner wall of the box.
As illustrated in FIG. 8, this annular zone gives rise to a relatively tapered rigid annular fold 18 suitable for wiping a brush. The arrangement of this annular fold 18, along the upper edge of the metal box, is particularly preferred since the fold is very accessible with a brush and that the excess paint product retained by the fold can fall back inside the cavity delimited by the envelope.
To remove from an empty box, the envelope 11 forming a removable lining, it suffices to introduce a screwdriver 13 kept inclined in a gap 14 which separates the lower face of the flange 16 from the envelope 11 and the upper face of the inner ring 5 of the box, so as to be able to detach the flange and move the envelope 11 away from the rolled upper edge 8 of the box.
Then, the screwdriver 13 is raised by resting on the upper rolled edge of the box and the envelope 11 is raised so as to remove it from the body 2 of the box 1. A second method for removing the envelope 11 consists suck the envelope using a suction device and tear it from the box.
