"Charrue pivotante"
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
tement automatiquement.
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
<Desc/Clms Page number 9>

"Swivel plow"
The invention relates to a pivoting plow comprising articulation points for the lower guide of a tractor comprising the supporting frame, representing a part of the anterior plow frame, and the plow frame which presents the bodies pouring to the left and to the right. and which is connected, so as to be able to pivot in the respective working position, to the support frame and thus to the front frame of the plow.
Pivoting plows of this kind, which are sporadically also designated as plows, are distinguished from the rotating plows most often used today, by the fact that on the plow frame plowshares are arranged only on one side and by the fact that the plow frame can be passed around a vertical axis each time in the working position which pours to the left or to the right. Then, it is necessary that on the whole the plow is adjusted in alignment behind the tractor which is at an angle or which runs at an angle in the furrow.
In this regard, tilting change devices and prior adjustment devices are known which are all constructed relatively costly.
US-A-5,000. 267 shows a pivoting plow of this kind, the preset inclination of which is adjusted by a hydraulic cylinder for work that tilts left and right. This hydraulic cylinder is hydraulically connected to the pivot cylinder. Also the solution known by EP-A-469 871 is constructed very costly and undergoes high wear due to forces
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
that act adversely. The swivel plow has a plow journal for which the lower articulation points for connection to the lower guide of the tractor can be moved hydraulically according to their height in order to change or adapt the inclination for the plow work on the left and to the right.
As the rear end of the plow chassis then moves in height, it must be compensated for example by the upper guide so that precise adjustment is hardly possible. The latter is however desired in order to guide the pivoting plow proper, behind the tractor which runs at an angle in the furrow, in the inclination of the field to be plowed.
The invention therefore aims to achieve for swivel plows an easy tilt adjustment which is safe to operate and which does not require any adaptation of the lengths of the upper guide.
The problem is solved according to the invention by the fact that the plow chassis is moreover arranged on the carrier chassis so as to be able to pivot in a limited manner around its longitudinal chassis axis.
In the case of a pivoting plow produced in this way, the plow frame is automatically adjusted, with the bodies which pour to the left and to the right and which are arranged at a distance from each other, in the position or correct inclination when the tractor traveling in the furrow pulls and exerts pressure on the bodies. Then, it is ensured by the delimitation of the possibility of pivoting of the carrying frame that the plow frame remains in the precisely correct position without being able to be put in a pivoting too large, following resistances, etc. It is surprising that this happens completely.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
automatically.
The plow frame adjusts itself almost automatically to the correct inclination and extends accordingly precisely so that it can plow practically straight horizontally behind the tractor which runs at an angle. More precise penetration of plowshares or bodies into the soil to be turned over is always ensured.
According to a suitable embodiment of the invention, provision is made for the plow frame to be connected to the carrying frame so as to be able to pivot in a limited manner about a pivot axis which extends horizontally or approximately horizontally. In the case of such an embodiment, a secure arrangement of the plow frame on the carrying frame is ensured and by this each time the plow frame can be easily pivoted about the pivot axis or be automatically pivoted when penetration into the ground.
Instead of the pivot axis, it is also possible according to the invention that the plow chassis is connected to the carrier chassis, so that it can pivot in a limited manner horizontally or approximately horizontally in the longitudinal axis of the chassis, by l 'through a joint.
Also in the case of this articulation, it is ensured that each time precise guidance can be ensured by the delimitation of the pivoting stroke.
In order to allow each time to easily adapt the tilt adjustment, the invention provides that the plow frame or the carrying frame has an adjustment device by which its pivoting stroke, that is to say therefore the swivel stroke of the plow frame, can be limited or adjusted around the longitudinal axis of the frame.
According to the invention, an adjustment device of this kind can be produced by two adjustment screws attached to the support frame or by two adjustment cylinders attached to the frame.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
carrier, the embodiment cited last having the advantage that here an actuation can take place from the tractor while in the case of adjusting screws, by their nature, the driver of the tractor must leave his tractor in the cases where corrections become necessary. However, execution with adjusting screws has the advantage, however, that it is easy, inexpensive and simultaneously as safe to handle.
A particularly suitable embodiment of the invention is that in which the carrying chassis has at the free end a chassis support, approximately U-shaped, which is fitted at both ends, extending in the longitudinal direction of the plow chassis, chassis guides surrounding the plow chassis and which carries, in the middle of the core, the pivot axis and, on the wings, each time the adjusting screws. The plow chassis is consequently mounted in the chassis guides and can be pivoted on either side with respect to the chassis support, around the pivot axis, of the pivoting stroke given by the adjustment screws, and respectively move freely correspondingly, in order to take the correct tilt adjustment.
The frame guides then pivot with the plow frame around the carrying frame or around the pivot axis which extends horizontally or approximately horizontally.
According to a simple and suitable embodiment, the chassis guides consist of a U-shaped base frame and a spacer which is detachably connected thereto. By unscrewing the spacer, the plow frame can be removed from the frame guides or conversely be inserted and
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
enclosed correspondingly. Assembly and repairs are thus simplified.
In addition to the tilt adjustment, the invention provides an adjustment of the width of anterior grooves insofar as the plow chassis is mounted so that it can be moved longitudinally in the chassis guides. Thus the relative position of the separate bodies can be modified with respect to the anterior plow frame, and thus the width of anterior furrows. The device which regulates the possibility of longitudinal movement then simultaneously retains the plow chassis in the chassis guides so that the plow chassis cannot slide out of these guides during normal operation. Suitably, this longitudinal displacement possibility device is an adjustment device by which the plow frame and frame support are connected to each other.
Then an adjustment device of this kind is appropriately produced in the form of an adjustment cylinder by which the plow chassis can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the chassis support. The plow frame is mounted, as explained below above, in the frame guides which do not enclose it at this point but which provide a corresponding possibility of movement. Then the possibility of movement is generally limited by the adjusting cylinder or by the adjusting device.
The invention is distinguished in particular by the fact that a simple tilt adjustment is carried out for pivoting plows of this kind which is very safe and very good in operation and which requires no further adjustment. The plow frame adjusts itself more or less automatically each time in the final position which is given by an adjusting screw, when the bodies penetrate the ground. Precisely
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
in the case of light bends for which pivoting plows of this kind are particularly well suited, regular adjustment is thus possible and ensured because the plow frame is almost dragged into its final position, by pulling the bodies to across the earth.
One can think of a purely theoretical way to add on this subject to the adjustment screws of the rubber buffers by which a fairly slight stop is made possible when reaching the final position.
Other details, features and advantages of the subject of the invention emerge from the secondary claims and the following description of the accompanying drawings in which is shown by way of example, with the features and constituent parts necessary for this, a form preferred embodiment.
Figure 1 shows a side view of a swivel plow with a tilt adjustment device.
Figure 2 partially shows in section a front view of the plow.
Figure 3 shows a plan view of the swivel plow with the tilt adjustment device.
In the various figures, the same reference notations indicate identical or analogous elements.
Figure 1 shows the pivoting plow 1 according to the invention, which has an anterior plow frame 2, comprising articulation points 3 for the lower guide and an articulation point 4 for the upper guide, and which has a supporting chassis 5 having on the end side an approximately vertical bearing tube 6 receiving the axis 7 and thus connected so as to be able to pivot to the chassis support.
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
The process of pivoting from one working position to the other position is initiated using the pivot cylinder 8.
Figure 1 shows the pivoting plow in the middle position which serves as the transport position.
On the chassis support is mounted the plow chassis 10 which carries on bodies branches 11 bodies 12,13 arranged at a distance from each other. These bodies are made so that they can cut by both the left and right edges.
At the free end 19 of the carrying frame 5, the frame support 20 has at its ends 21, 22 frame guides 23, 24. In these chassis guides 23, 24, the plow chassis 10 is mounted so that it can be moved along the longitudinal axis of the chassis 14, the chassis guides 23, 24 being connected to the chassis support 20, so that pivot, by means of the pivot axis 15 which extends approximately along the longitudinal axis of the chassis 14 and which can be real or imaginary.
The possibility of pivoting is limited by an adjustment device 16, here in the form of screws 17 in FIG. 2. The inclination of the plow can be adapted to the circumstances by means of these adjustment screws, without the horizontal position of the plow frame 10 changes relative to the ground which is not shown here.
Figure 2 shows a section in the area behind the pivot bearing comprising the bearing tube 6. This section makes it clear that the plow frame 10 is guided by the frame guides 23, 24 which surround it and is fixed by bridges against a slip exit. In other words, a basic cross member 30 and a spacer 31 have been provided which
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
are connected to each other by screws 32,33 and which thus form the frame guide 23,24.
The chassis support 20 is made in the shape of a U and has a core 26 comprising the real or imaginary pivot axis 15 shown here and the adjustment screws 17 arranged on the wings 27, 28.
FIG. 2 advantageously indicates how the chassis guide 23, 24 is connected, to the chassis support 20, so as to be able to pivot via the pivot axis 15. By the adjustment screws 15 already mentioned, the stops corresponding can be changed in their position so that also the inclination changes correspondingly; the pivot range of the plow frame 10 is easily enlarged or reduced. An adjustment screw 17 of this kind is provided for each possible direction of work.
FIG. 3 shows a plan view of the pivoting plow 1 and indicates that the pivot axis 15 for the tilt adjustment extends along the longitudinal axis of the chassis 14 and indicates how the chassis support 20 is arranged on the plow frame 10 so that it can be moved by means of the adjustment device 35, or indicates that the plow frame 10 can be moved via the adjustment device 35 or the adjustment cylinder 36 in the frame guides 23.24. To this purpose serves the fixed point 37, on the plow chassis 10, on which the adjusting cylinder 36 acts. 38 denotes the connection point where the adjusting cylinder 36 acts on the chassis support 20.
Figure 3 further indicates the arrangement of the pivot cylinders 8 which are connected, by fasteners, to the carrying frame 5 of the front plow frame 2 and, by other fasteners, to the chassis support 20. The chassis support 20 itself is connected
<Desc / Clms Page number 9>
by the pivot axis 15 to the chassis guides 23, 24 which surround, and thus guide, the plow chassis 10.
The plow frame 10 can be equipped with an extension 40 by which it has on the end side a corresponding flange 39.
It should be understood that the invention is in no way limited to the embodiments described and that many modifications can be made to these without departing from the scope of the present invention.
