 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 libération de la composition en milieu aqueux.

  EXEMPLE

Free formaldehyde, % by wt : 1 (max) Melting point with melts with décomposition :

   175-176 C Tris Nitro (R) 2-Nitro-2-Hydroxymethyl-1. 3-propanediol

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

  BACCIR (R) A. C. (Continuous action) bactericide, fungicide, and non-chlorinated disinfectant.

   The present invention relates to a non-chlorinated fungicidal and bactericidal product intended to preserve vis-à-vis microorganisms aqueous industrial fluids.

   Many industrial fluids, solutions or emulsions used in metalworking can be contaminated with microorganisms. Some of these organisms produce growths which can block filters, pipes and clog grinding wheels. They can also feed on one or the other constituting industrial fluids, thus destroying their properties. This results in corrosion, breaking of the emulsions. Other organisms can create health problems, giving rise to foul smells.

   Bactericide and fungicide products are known in the form of powders and liquids. They are often dangerous and must be dosed with precision (dosage in parts per million). Their use requires qualified personnel and measuring-precision equipment for their use.

   Since the dose of these known products is applied at once, the active product eventually runs out and it is therefore necessary to regularly monitor the development of the working bath.

   The present invention aims to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks by providing an effective non-chlorinated bactericidal and fungicidal composition, easy to use and practically harmless.

   For this purpose, the non-chlorinated bactericidal and fungicidal composition contains in a dispersion or dissolution medium soluble in water and solid at room temperature, forming almost half of the total mass of the composition, approximately equal parts of a disinfecting agent and the bactericidal agent being chosen from non-chlorinated compounds miscible with water and having undeniable bacteriostatic properties.

   More particularly, the bactericidal and fungicidal composition contains by weight: - trioxymethylene 50% - hexamethylene tetramine 49% - bactericide Tris (Hydroxv- methyl) nitromethane 1%
For its use, the composition is poured into containers provided with at least one opening for the

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 release of the composition in an aqueous medium.

  EXAMPLE
1 kilo of trioxymethylene is melted in a water bath. In the thus melted mass, 0.900 kg of hexamethylene tetramine is dissolved with stirring and, after complete dissolution, 0.116 kg of Tris (Hydroxymethyl) nitromethane bactericide and fungicide, while continuing to agitate until complete dissolution and perfect homogenization.

   The melt containing 50% trioxymethylene, 49% hexamethylene tetramine and 1% bactericide, fungicide Tris (hydroxymethyl) nitromethane is poured into polystyrene boxes of appropriate volume to contain approximately 300 g of product per unit. The boxes are then provided with covers with three knock-out lids allowing to release 1, 2 or 3 openings, according to the desired duration of dissolution.

   The product poured into the boxes has the following characteristics: - appearance: beige compact solid block, sometimes showing needle crystallization.

  - Density: approximately 1.30 - Solubility in water: 200 g / L - Toxicity: 1.875 mg / kg: LD 50 on rat (active ingredient) - dissolution time of a cartridge: approximately 45 days for a cartridge 300 grs Analysis: trioxymethylene: PF 600C soluble in water Hexamethylene tetramine: theoretical quantity: 0.900 Kg Bactericide, fungicide, Tris (Hydroxymethyl) nitromethane theoretical quantity: 0.116 Kg Ph of O, 1M aqueous solution at 20 C: 5.0 Color, Gardner: 5.0 (max) Tris Nitro,% by wt: 40 min.) Free formaldehyde,% by wt: 1 (max) Melting point with melts with decomposition:

   175-176 C Tris Nitro (R) 2-Nitro-2-Hydroxymethyl-1. 3-propanediol
On the wall of a 200 L tank of machining liquid is hung, either in a basket, or by means of an iron wire, one. 300 g cartridge after removing the three knockout knockouts from the cover, one, two or three pellets depending on the time required for the dissolution (a single cleared disc allows to hold 2 months).

   When the cartridge is empty, simply replace it.

   This product finds an application in metal manufacturing, all industries which use water cooling circuits. It has been developed for the aeronautical industry and the workshops of nuclear power plants.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

  Absence of any trace of chlorine-after 11 days and after 60 days under the conditions of the test, the Testing and Analysis Station does not observe any multiplication of the strains seeded. The product fulfilled its bacteriostatic role with respect to the strains tested for 60 days.

   To contain the composition, the following containers are used, for example: 10 / round polystyrene box (crystal type): diameter: 80 mm height: 70 mm capacity: 350 cc polystyrene cover (shock type): diameter: 81 mm three knockouts 1 cm in diameter it is advisable to stick or seal the cover after filling.

    20 / larger round box with screw-on lid: diameter: 130 mm height: 165 mm cover with diameter 140.5 mm rim of 17 mm three openings as above three knock-out lids net weight: approximately 1.8 Kg.

   It is understood that the invention is not limited to the details described above and that many modifications can be made to it while remaining within the scope of the invention.

  In an alkaline aqueous medium, the bactericidal, fungicidal preparation consists of: - trioxymethylene 50% 0, K 905 - hexamethylene tetramine: 23% 0, K 416 - Sodium Ortho-Phenylphenate Tetrahydrate: 27% 0, K 489
For its use, the composition is poured into containers provided with at least one opening for the release of the composition in an aqueous medium.

  The description of the implementation remains identical to what is described above for the preparation of the bactericidal and fungicidal additive developed in the form of a poured block and compacted in a metering box constituting no danger to its handling.
