<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Brève description des figures L'invention est décrite plus en détail ci-dessous à l'appui des figures dans lesquelles : Fig. 1 est une vue schématique avec arrachement d'une poche de coulée et d'un répartiteur de coulée continue ; Fig. 2 est une vue schématique à plus grande échelle du fond d'une poche, de son dispositif de coulée et du tube de poche ; Fig. 3 est une vue schématique d'un dispositif de nettoyage selon l'invention, adapté à un tube de poche ;

Description détaillée des figures
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

Device for cleaning an Obiet pocket tube of the invention
The invention relates to a device for cleaning a pocket tube, which allows rapid and effective cleaning, and which does not risk damaging said pocket tube.
Technological back-clan
In particular in the continuous casting process of steel, the molten metal contained in ladles is successively poured into a distributor, which accumulates the liquid steel and thus allows continuous casting towards the oscillating ingot molds.
Each ladle is provided with a pouring nozzle, possibly in two parts, which allows the evacuation of steel through the tap hole to the ladle tube via which the steel is supplied to the distributor.
This pocket tube is held in place against the ladle pouring nozzle by any suitable means.
After the nozzle of a ladle has been detached from the ladle when the emptying of the ladle is complete, it frequently happens
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
forms a steel film inside the upper part of the pocket tube.
As a result, the contact between the external wall of the pocket nozzle and the internal wall of the pocket tube is not perfect, and this can result, by suction, in an unwanted entry of air into the distributor, which can result in a harmful renitriding of the steel.
In addition, if such a film remains, there is generally a poorer follow-up of the supply of liquid metal transferred to the distributor, following the wait caused by the reordering of the equipment.
To avoid this drawback, it is therefore necessary to thoroughly clean the inside wall of the pocket tube.
Usually, cleaning is carried out by means of a lance supplied with oxygen under pressure and which gives a dart at high temperature.
Such cleaning must necessarily be carried out by skilled personnel and takes a considerable time, since the dart, which is punctual, must be moved over the whole of a relatively large area at the top of the pocket tube.
It can happen that some parts are not well cleaned.
In addition, given the high temperature reached, the dart can more or less strongly damage the refractory material in places, so that the life is reduced and it is necessary after a few castings to repair part of the refractory material or even even replace the pocket tube.
If the refractory material is damaged or if the tube is badly cleaned, there is a risk that the junction between the nozzle of the ladle and the ladle will be poor, again resulting in a suction of air in the distributor and therefore a harmful renitriding of the steel.
Dart cleaning is dangerous not only

for installation but also for personnel, who must move on the cover of the distributor, undergoes intense heat, risk of burns by projection, and glare. In view of these dangers, personnel are required to use aluminized protective gloves and protective glasses, which must be replaced frequently.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The object of the invention is to provide a device for cleaning the pocket tube while avoiding the drawbacks described above.
Essential Elements of the Invention The invention relates to a device for cleaning a pocket tube, which comprises a lance capable of being supplied with fluid under pressure and a member for distributing this fluid, which advantageously consists of an apple, the bottom wall is provided with openings. These are preferably arranged in such a way that, during cleaning, the pressurized fluid, generally gaseous oxygen, is sprayed uniformly along the internal wall of the pocket tube.
In a preferred embodiment, the apple has a frustoconical shape capable of fitting contiguously in the pocket tube.
Preferably, the fluid-dispensing member is metallic.
Brief description of the figures The invention is described in more detail below in support of the figures in which: FIG. 1 is a schematic view with cutaway of a ladle and a continuous pouring distributor; Fig. 2 is a diagrammatic view on a larger scale of the bottom of a pocket, of its pouring device and of the pocket tube; Fig. 3 is a schematic view of a cleaning device according to the invention, adapted to a pocket tube;

Fig. 5 is a sectional view of the cleaning device, along the line V-V of FIG. 4.
Detailed description of the figures
Fig. 1 represents a ladle 1 containing liquid steel, and a distributor 3. During the emptying, the steel flows through the tap hole 5 and joins the distributor 3 via the pocket tube 7. Then, it flows through the nozzles 9 towards oscillating ingot molds not shown.
Fig. 2 shows in more detail the junction between a ladle 1 and the distributor 3.
In the position shown, the ladle 1 pouring system is in the closed position.
. A pocket bottom brick also called an internal nozzle 11 is provided in the refractory bottom 13 of the pocket 1, which covers the metal bottom 15. In FIG. 2 there is shown a briquetted bottom 13. A fixed plate 17 is mounted on the metal base 15 and has a taphole 5. A movable plate 19 also having a similar taphole moves against the fixed plate 17.
In the open position of the pocket 1, the movable plate 19 thus puts the external nozzle 21 and the pocket tube 7 into communication with the tap hole 5 so that the steel flows into the distributor 3.
When the pouring is finished, and the movable plate 19 has been moved so as to close the tap hole 5, the bag 1 is removed and the elements 7 and 21 are separated; the lower end of the pocket tube 7 is taken out of the steel bath of the distributor 3.
It is then that a steel film can form inside the pocket tube 7.
Fig. 3 shows, in section, the upper part of a pocket tube 7, on which is placed a cleaning device according to the invention, designated under the general reference 23, and shown in more detail in FIGS. 4 and 5.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
It comprises an oxygen supply lance 25 on which a perforated apple 27 is mounted, which can be adapted contiguously to the upper part of the pocket tube 7.
The oxygen, injected with a high pressure, penetrates along the internal wall 29 of the pocket tube 7 by means of openings 33 and 35 in the lower wall 31 of the apple 27.
These openings 33 and 35 have such a shape and are located in such a way that the oxygen is distributed uniformly over the entire conical part of the wall 29 and also in its straight part.
As the side wall 37 of the apple 27 is perfectly contiguous with the wall 29, on the one hand the oxygen efficiency is maximum and on the other hand there is no risk of nitrogen penetration into the distributor steel.
This cleaning device according to the invention makes it possible to quickly remove the pocket tube 7 from the steel. cooled before bringing a new ladle 1 into contact with the distributor 3.
There is no need to call in specialized personnel and the refractory material is kept intact during cleaning, which is perfectly carried out.
