<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

DESCRIPTION Method for implementing columns founded in advance in the field
The subject of the present invention is a foundation process which makes it possible to produce deep local foundations in concrete supplemented at the top by prefabricated columns, generally of steel, which will constitute the columns of the basements of the structure to be built on these foundations.
Belgian Patent No. 690,843 describes a process for the simultaneous construction of the floors and basements of a building constructed on such prefabricated columns in wells dug in the ground.
In the current state of this technique, the concrete which surrounds the lower part of the column is reinforced by hoop reinforcements.
The installation of these frames is a long and expensive operation.
The present invention eliminates this hooping reinforcement which is replaced by the use of concrete loaded with steel fibers of small diameter and short length. These steel fibers will hoop the concrete, considerably increasing the tensile strength of the concrete and therefore bursting under the effect of the vertical loads transmitted by the reduced section of the column to the mass of the hooped concrete.
Figures 1 and 2 show the arrangement corresponding to the current state of the art. Figure 1 is a vertical section through the ground. Figure 2 is a horizontal section.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
From ground level 1, a well 2 is excavated in the ground, using a suitable machine, generally under bentonite mud 3.
A metal or precast concrete column 4 has adhesion devices 5 at its lower part.
A hooping reinforcement 6 is fixed to the lower part of the column 4 before its introduction into the well 2.
To carry out this operation, the column 4 is suspended vertically by a crane above the well 2 making it possible to weld the upper part of the hooping frame 6 to the lower part of the column.
Column 4 has a column head 7 which is bolted to the top of the column.
This column head is lowered onto a positioning frame 8 placed above the well.
Column 4 is then adjusted in three directions using hydraulic or mechanical jacks fixed to the chassis 8.
One or two concreting tubes 9 are then introduced, comprising elements approximately 3 meters long assembled together to form a concreting tube generally of several tens of meters in length.
A funnel 10 is fixed to the upper part of this concreting tube.
Concrete 11 is poured into the funnel 10 and descends into the bottom of the well by pumping up the bentonite mud 3 which is recovered.
As this concreting progresses, the concreting tubes are reassembled so as to penetrate the mass of fresh concrete from 2 m to 3 m approximately.
Concreting is thus carried out up to level 12 higher than the level of the hooping reinforcements 6.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The upper part of the well is then filled with a non-coherent material 13, generally gravel, to oppose the buckling of the metal column 4 when it is loaded.
Figures 3 and 4 show the foundation process which is the subject of the invention. Figure 3 is a vertical section through the ground. Figure 4 is a horizontal section.
From ground level 1, a well 2 is excavated in the ground, using a suitable machine, generally under bentonite mud 3.
A metal or precast concrete column 4 has adhesion devices 5 at its lower part.
Normal concrete 14 is used under bentonite mud using one or two concreting tubes 9 completed by a funnel 10 by pushing back the bentonite mud 3.
This concreting is carried out up to a level 15 located lower than the lower level of column 4.
Steel fibers are then mixed with the concrete appropriately to ensure that the distribution of these fibers takes place evenly in the concrete.
This concrete 16 loaded with steel fibers is then poured into the tube 9 through the funnel 10 so as to reach a higher level 17 corresponding to the level 12 of FIG. 1.
The column 4 with its positioning head 7 is suspended vertically from the crane and introduced vertically in the correct position into the fresh concrete 16 loaded with steel fibers.
It easily penetrates into fresh concrete due to the absence of hooping reinforcements which, if they were fixed to the column, would prevent the column from penetrating into fresh concrete.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The positioning head 7 is placed exactly at the intended location of the positioning frame 8 which has been adjusted in advance as a function of the precise horizontal and altitude coordinates of column 4.
After the concrete has hardened, the non-coherent filling material 13 is poured into the upper part of the well 2.
In the present invention, it is also possible to place column 4 before concreting.
Concrete 14 can also be produced with the addition of fibers at the same dosage as concrete 16 or with a lower dosage.
For example, normal concrete can have the following composition: - HK40 cement: 350 kg / m3 - 0/5 sand: 840 kg / m -. gravel: 930 kg / m3
EMI4.1
- water: 200 kq / m3 3 2. 320 kg / rn
A fiber-reinforced concrete is identical to the previous one except that it additionally contains a load of 20 to 45 kg by weight of steel fiber per m3 of concrete and that a plasticizer is added at the rate of approximately 4 kg per m3 of concrete.
The fibers used are of conventional type in this kind of application.
