Description

 <EMI ID=1.1>

Apparatus intended to oil or grease chains with bearings for conveyors.

The present invention relates to lubrication, in particular rolling chains for conveyors, and relates to an apparatus intended to oil or grease with great precision and without loss of lubricant.

The object of the invention is to produce a device which works very quickly by allowing the bearings disposed on either side of the conveyor to be oiled or greased simultaneously.

We already know a machine to lubricate but which only allows to work from one side at a time.

An apparatus according to the invention is characterized in that it consists of a body, in which moves a piston capable of being subjected to the action of a pneumatic cylinder to come into abutment against a shutter, so to inject the Lubricant in small quantities via a valve in a bearing on either side of the conveyor.

According to the invention the valve is mounted at the end of a nozzle screwed onto the piston and is subjected to the action of a spring compressing it against the sealing surface.

Also according to the invention the lubricant is supplied from a circulation pump to the piston via a hose used as an accumulator.

To better understand the invention, it is now described in more detail on the basis of the accompanying drawing, by way of example only, showing in section an apparatus intended to oil or grease according to the invention.

The apparatus comprises a body 1, in which a piston slides. To prevent the exit of the piston 2 from the body 1, a stop 3 is provided serving as a cover for said body.

The stroke of piston 2 is limited by a shutter

4. The stroke and therefore the quantity of lubricant injected depends on the thickness of the shutter 4 (approximately 2 mm to 4 mm).

The seal is ensured by stuffing 5.

On the piston 2 is screwed a nozzle 6, which includes a valve 7 preventing the lubricant from escaping.

A compressed spring 8 The valve 7 on the sealing surface.

Elastic stops or o-rings 9, 10 prevent any metal shocks between the piston 2, the cover 3 and the shutter 4.

The apparatus according to the invention is placed at the end of a pneumatic cylinder, which is fixed on a carriage, which moves very precisely and very quickly.

In the working position, at the outlet of the pneumatic cylinder,

 <EMI ID = 1.1>

pet 7 comes into contact with a lubrication nipple. The force generated pushes said valve 7 and, the liquids being incompressible, the hose 11 is used as an accumulator.

The pressure of the oil in the hose 11 coming from the pump 12 being approximately 40 kg (elastic limit of the hose 11), the additional pressure generated by the displacement of the piston 2 accumulates a part of oil, which is equal to the volume of displacement of piston 2. This volume is returned to the bearings of the chain via the nipple. When returning the piston 2 remains pressed and the valve 7 is closed, there is therefore no air intake.

During the return, during the unhooking of the nipple, the oil via a solenoid valve passes beyond the valve 7 and the pressure pushes back the piston 2 in the working position. With the valve 7 closed, the oil cannot escape and the cycle can start again.

A device according to the invention works at low oil pressure (about 40 kg / cm) and therefore has the advantage of avoiding the lubricant losses inherent in devices forced to work at high pressure (
150 kg / cm) for precision.

On the other hand, the jack, on LequeL is grafted a device according to the invention, can also work at low pressure, of the order of 2 kg / cm to 3kg / cm, which avoids brutal shocks and by The destruction of the grease nipple screwed into the bearing.

The device works smoothly and is therefore very reliable.
