Abstract

The sling consists of a cable which is tied to form a rectangular base with loops (3,4) projecting from its edges. One pair of diametrically-opposite loops is triangular in shape, while the second pair has a triangular shape and an elongated U-shaped loop (2) attached to the tip of each triangle. The package can be placed squarely or diagonally on the base of the sling, and the loops brought up over the sides or corners accordingly. The elongated U-shaped loops are passed through the apexes of the triangular loops after being crossed over the top of the package, and their free ends then provide handles for lifting gear.

    "PROCESS FOR SURROUNDING A FLAT SLING A PACKAGE OF PACKAGES AND FLAT SLING FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION"
The present invention relates to handling equipment and in particular relates to methods for surrounding with a flat sling a package of packages and
 EMI1.1
 flat slings.

   It is more efficient to use the claimed method for the packaging of the packages in bags, especially in bags of synthetic materials such as polyethylene, polypropylene.

   A method is known for surrounding a package of packages with a flat sling, consisting in placing a package of packages on the carrying section of l. sling, which has four ends in loops by encircling the parcel package along its four side faces.

  On the upper face of the colony package, there are two sections for closing the sling, which have the form of loops. The closing sections are arranged so that they intersect. The ends of the loops are brought together from the closing sections to the loops of the
 EMI1.2
 load-bearing section by means of staples or running knots.

   When lifting a package, during the process of its formation, the carrier section and the closure sections tighten around the package package, forming four loops for the gripping members such as: hooks, rods. forks (GB B 1394823).

   Also known is a flat sling comprising a carrying section and closing sections. The carrying section is formed by two closed loops which cross each other, These loops are joined to one another at the places where they intersect. The closing sections are made separately and have the form of a loop (GB B 1394823).

   In the case of the slinging process described above, the load units (bags) are placed on the section

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 carrier so as to achieve "an alternating device", for example "an appliance with a seat in buttress on three seats of alternating panners" or "an appliance with a seat in buttress on five seats in alternating breakdowns" which requires having a hand 'opens and a relatively large amount of time to complete this operation.

   The more the number of loops for the gripping organs eat. large, and the flat llingue decrlte c1 above has four, the larger the labor and time taken to form, sling and release the packages, the more the gripping members used to
 EMI2.1
 tranabord packets are complicated.

   The increase in the number of connections, ensured by means of staples or slip nodes, between the loops of the carrying section and closing sections leads to the increase in the eventuality of error during their realization and the probabilistic loosening of. the elingue surrounding the package ,. due to various causes and to chance, which it is impossible to avoid completely on patic to the realization of the packets in very large series, to the tranabordement and to the transport of hundreds of thousands of packages. Therefore, the described process does not ensure the integrity of the package packages during transport; a large number of packets break up before arriving at the addressee.

   In addition, the flat sling described above consists of three independent sections, a carrying section and two closing sections, which leads to the possible loss of one of the constituent sections and, consequently, with the setting out of order
 EMI2.2
 of 1 whole.

   All of this greatly harms. to the efficiency of the transport of the loads misea in saca.

   We therefore proposed to develop a process to surround a package sling with a flat sling and
 EMI2.3
 a platform which would make it possible to ensure the integrity of the package and the reliability of its transport, to raise the efficiency of transhipment works,

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 to reduce the losses of the constituent elements of the slings by the organizations participating in transport.

   The problem thus posed is solved using a method for. surround a package of parcel with a flat sling, agreeing to place the parcel of package on the sling carrying section, which has closed loops enveloping the colia package by its four lateral spaces, to be placed on the upper side of the package of packages of the closing sections representing loops so that they intersect and join them to the loops of the carrying section by tightening them around the package of packages and making loops for the gripping members, characterized in that one of the ends of the closure sections is joined together in a fixed assembly to the loops in opposition to the carrying section,

   they are crisscrossed at the point of intersection of the closing sections ensuring their mutual attachment, they are rotated in relation to each other, and they are brought together
 EMI3.1
 the other ends at the ends of I. of the carrying section by making two loops for the gripping members.

   A flat sling is claimed for the implementation of the method comprising a carrying section provided with two loops which are connected and which are joined together at the places of their intersection, and closing sections representing loops, characterized in that one of the loops of the carrying section and the loops of the closing sections are produced in one piece by forming a single loop.

   I1 is advantageous that the strands of this single loop arranged in opposition are joined together it Itaide dea intermediate bands put in the junction areas of the loop of the carrying section and loops of the closing sections.

   This mode chosen to join the strands of the loop
 EMI3.2

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 a package of packages and the sling produced, according to the present invention, ensure, although their realization is simple, the integrity of the packages of packages during their transport, contribute to raising the yield of the tranabordement works and allow, in practice, avoid completely losing the elements of the flat slings.

   The invention will be better understood and further but, details and advantages thereof will appear better in the light of the explanatory description which follows of an embodiment given only by way of nonlimiting example, with reference to nonlimiting annexed drawings in which: - Figure 1 represents a flat sling in accordance with the invention; - Figure 2 shows a packet of glue surrounded by the sling by its four side faces in accordance with the claimed process; - Figure 3 shows a package package surrounded by the sling by four edges in accordance with the claimed method;

   - Figure 4 shows the node A in Figure 3: loop for fixed assembly of one end of the loop of the closing section and the carrying section.

   The flat sling comprises a carrying section 1 (FIG. 1) and two closing sections 2. The section
 EMI4.1
 carrier 1 is conatitue 4 which a'entre- by two loops 3.ccross and which are connected one & the other (sewn) at the intersection points 5. Each closure section 2 represents a loop.

   One of the loops 4 forms a whole with the closing sections 2 arrange at its opposite sides which gives
 EMI4.2
 a single loop 6, the length L L-l + 211 of which is the length of loop 4 of the carrying section l,
11 is the length of the closing section 2.

   The strands of the single loop 6 are joined together by means of a link strip 7 (a piece of strip)

 <Desc / Clms Page number 5>

 in the junction area of the loop 4 of the carrying section 1 and the corresponding closing section 2.

   The process d. surround the package package using the flat sling described above is implemented as follows.

     The flat gel, named, in the following description, is placed on a supporting surface: floor, pallet, summer. (not shown). At the start, the closing sections 2 of the single loop 6
 EMI5.1
 can be On the carrier 1 of the eli- .. process simple rsngéec process by making a packet 9 in this way.

   Then the closing sections 2 are unwound and they are placed on the lateral faces of the package 9 so that they are directed towards one another. In the center of the upper face of the packet 9. the closure sections 2 are hooked one with the other by crossing the loop of a closure section 2 with it of the other closure section 2 at the right angle relative to the direction of the loops 3 in opposition to the carrying section 1. The ends of the closing sections

 ture 2 of single loop 6 are joined by the inter-. mediary of a slip knot 10 at the ends of the loop 3 of the carrying section l, thereby forming two lifting loops 11.

   The loop of the closing section 2 and the loop 3 of the carrying section 1 can be joined by any other known method which is suitable for this purpose.

   When the package 9 is first lifted by two lifting loops 11, its automatic tightening occurs on four sides. The nozzles 10 tighten and the
