Description

Standing-stool with adjustable seat-furnishing
The invention concerns a standing-stool with adjustable seat- furnishing and more pecisely determined of the mentioned nature in the beginning to demand 1.
Known standing-stool of the nature question have in practice proved to cause sufferings of the back after having been used for a long time. An examination made clear that the υroblems especially arise whe standing-stool are used on uneven or sloping foundation, so that the user is forced to sit aslant, i.e. an attitude where back and legs are strained wrongly.
The aim of the invention is to show a better standing-stool which can be used under all conditions without any risk for injury of the back and at the same with optimum supporting-comfort. This is obtained according to the invention by making the seat adjustable as mentioned in the charcterizing part af demand 1.
No matter how the floor is (uneven or sloping floor) the chair will be able to be adjusted with horizontal seat which is a condition of a cottect ergonomic support/sitting-position. A preferred version-form for the seat furnishing according to the invention is mentioned in demand 2. The seat furnishing is characterized by being robust, easily operated and safe. For tipping-free adjustment of the chair-underframe to the floor the chair feet are provided with regulating screws or adjustable shoes as mentioned in demand 4.
For the sake of the sitting comfort the seat can assording to the invention be worked out with an integral back or a lumbar support. This admite a more relaxed sitting position while back and loin are supported. By supplying the seat with a level as mentioned in demand 6 the horizontal adjustment of the seat can be controlled directly. The invention has to be explained in connection with the drawing, where
fig. 1 shows a standing-stool according to the invention in sidepicture. fig. 2 shows the seat furnishment seen slant from in front in perspective.
fig. 3 shows the seat from above.
fig. 4 shows the underframe seen from above.
At the drawing 1 designates the frame of the chair 2 the seat, and 3 the adjustable fritings of the seat. The frame is composed of a foot of several legs (4) and a vertical centralpipestandard (5).
The standard is equiped with a pivot bearing (6) and a vertical adjυstment mechanism (not shown at the drawing) . The foot (4) is equiped with adjustable shoes (7).
In the shown form of construction at the drawing the fittings of the seat (3) consists of an oblonghorizontal support frame (8) which is fastened at the top of the central pipestandard (5).
In the end that turns to the rear (the end of the seat) the support frame froms a bearing frame (9) with two support members (9a and 9b), and between them an endwise intermediate shaft (10) is hung. The intermediate shaft is to the purpose equiped with a welded transverse pivotshaft (1) which is placed pivotal between the two support members (9a and 9b). In this way the intermediate shaft (10) gets revolvable in vertical plane about a horisontal transverse axlemarked with 12.
The intermediate shaft (10) is in the frontend finished in a hook turning downwards (13) and is in the front equiped with a bar fastened with screws (14). The bar is formed as a segment of a circle with the centre in the swivel axle (12) and stretches through an oblong recess (15) in the support frame. The bar (14) is equiped with a number of sidercesses (14a) which give the beam a toothened shape .
At the topside of the support frame (8) om a level with the bar a pawl member with an effective resilience (16) is assembled, With one of its ends this is fastened to a joggle tenon (17) at the support frame and it stretches out through a guideslot- member (18) which is in the end of the supporting fittings that turns forward. Guideslot-member appears with an oblong guide slot (18a) which permits the pawl member a limited movement from side to side. In its normal position the pawl member is held by the elasticity towards one of the sides of the guide facing and in this position the pawl member intervenes locking in the side recesses (14a) of the bearm.
In this way the intermediate shaft (10) is kept locked. The lockinghold can be cancelled by displacing the pawl member to the opposite side of the guide facing, whereupon the intermediate shaft freely can be adjusted by a turn about the horizontal transverse axis (12).
On the intermediate shaft (10) an oblong bottom kracket of the seat (19) is hung. With two bearing sittings (20) it is revolvably momted on the shaft. The bearing sittings (20) are welded on the underside of the kracket.
The swivel axle of the bottom kracket, which at the drawing is marked with 21, is at right aneles to the transverse (12).
The bottom kracket (19) is in the end turning backwards equiped with an end piece facing downwards (22) which is parallel to the hook of the intermediate shaft (13) along the outside of this, By means of two opposed placed regulating screws (23) at the end piece (22) on a level with the hook it can be fixed in various angularities in proportion to the end piece, that means with the bottom kracket og the seat in various angularities in proportion to the horizontal plane.
In this way the two mutual perpendicular swivel axles 12 and 21 give the bottom kracket of the seat (19), and with that the seat that is assembled at the kracket (2), the possibility af adjustment had in view.
By means of screws the seat is fastened at the bottom kracket. The seat almost has the shape of an enlarged bicycle saddle equiped with a heightened support of the loin (2a).
At the bottom kracket (19) behind the seat a spirit level (24) (Figure nr. 1) is assembled. It makes it possible to make a completely axact adjustment of the seat in horizontal plane . For protection of the spirit the end piece (22) is led a bit over the plane of the bottom kracket, by which a shield of the spirit is produced.
The placing of the foot in proportion to the framefoot is suggested in figure nr. 4. It is noticed that the stool is equiped with five feet - four of them are turning backwards and to the sides. In this way a suitable free floor space is produced at the place where it is natural to support with the feet, at the same time as the stability backwards and to the sides is optimum.

Claims (6)

CLAIM
1. Standing - stool with adjustable seat fittings and of the type which gives the user an upright, almost standing position, for instance for use dunng work at an assembly belt and the like, where the full mobility of the body and the assistance of the legs for movement of the body are required, characterized by the fact that the seat (2) besides being adjustable in the height also is adjustable by a turn about a transverse horizontal axis (21) and by a turn about a transverse horizontal axis (12) for adjustment of the seat in the ergonomically most suitable position, usually absolute horizontal, also in cases where the floor is uneven or sloping.

Standing - stool according to claim 1 characterized by the fact that the seat fittings (3) consist of: a fastened horizontal support frame (3) at the frame of the chair (l) which in the end turning backwards is equiped with a bearing frame (9) for a intermediate shaft (10) turned forward that is revolvable aboat a horizontal transverse axis (12) in the mentioned bearing frame
- the fact that the intermediate shaft in the end turned forward is connected with a toothened bar (14) which is led down through a recess (15) in the support frame
- the fact that the intermediate shaft can be fixed in proportion to the support frame in a number of various angularities by means of a pawl member (16) with an effective resilience. From a joggle tenon (17) in the middle of the support frame this is turned forward and in normal lock position it will resiliently mesh with the toothing of the beam (14a)
- the fact that the intermediate shaft in the end turning backwards goes on in a hook turned downwards (13). An oblong bottom kracket of the seat (19) which is limited revolvable about the axis, i.e. about a transverse swivel axle (21), is hung at the intermediate shaft.
- the fact that the bottom kracket of the seat in the end turned backwards is equiped with a transverse placed downwards turning end piece (22) that is parallel to the hook of the intermediate shaft (13) and by means of two apposed placed regulating screws (23) put at the bottom of the end piece on a level with the hook is made for the purpose of locking the bottom kracket in various angularities in proportion to the remaining part of the seat fittings by assembling the regulating screws round the hook and - the fact that the seat (2) itself, mainly in the shape of a stuffed saddle, is mounted at the bottom kracket of the seat.
3. Standing - stool according to claim 1 characterized by the fact that the frame of the chair is designed as a one standard - chair equiped with a foot with three - or more - legs (4). It is also characterized by the fact that the frame is with vertical adjustment and equiped with a pivot bearing (6) that optionally can be pivotal or locked when the chair is used.
A. Standing - stool according to claim 3 characterized by the fact that the foot is equiped with adjustable shoes (7) so that it is not necessary to adjust the foot for an uneven floot by tilting.
5. Standing - stool according to claim 1 characterized by the fact that the seat the shape of a saddle and is equiped with a support of the loin (2a) that is integrated.
6. Standing- stool according to claim 1 characterized by the fact that there in connection to the seat mainly placed visibly at the bottom cracket of the seat (8), is placed a spirit level (24) that can be used by adjusting the seat in exactly horizontal position.
