Abstract

Insulation for storage tanks (1), in particular for large-capacity tanks, consisting of preformed insulating bodies in the form of blocks (4) of hard foam plastic, which are preferably provided with a metal cladding e.g. aluminium. The insulating bodies are placed around the storage tank (1), applied against the various regions of the latter and linked by profiled elements. Preferably the blocks are provided with reinforcement members parallel to one lateral edge (5, 6, 7, 8).
