Name of Applicant: Actual Inventors: Address for service in Australia: Invention Title: QIQIHAR RAILWAY ROLLING STOCK (GROUP) CO.,
LTD.
Zhu Gong RAN and Xing Shu MING Freehills Carter Smith Beadle 101 Collins Street Melbourne Victoria 3000 Australia A BOGIE OF RAILWAY WAGON The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to us A BOGIE OF RAILWAY WAGON Field of the invention The invention relates to a bogie of railway wagon, and in particular to such a bogie of railway wagon with its yaw stiffness enhanced by utilisation of elastic cross braces and pads.
Background Art At present, as one of the three main parts of a railway wagon, a bogie comprises side frames, bolsters, damping devices, wheel sets and brakes. A wagon body and its load are applied on the bogie bolster swivels and realizes rotation of passing curb by means of the upper and lower swivels. Since the relationship between side frames and bolsters in a bogie of a wagon solely relies on the damping devices, the bogie has a lower yaw stiffness. With the abrasion of damping devices, "lozenge dislocation" tends to take place in both side frames. "Lozenge dislocation" of the side frames will result in reduction of critical velocity of vehicle crawling, lowering operation stability 15 and increasing wheel rail abrasion. When the vehicle is running on a curved railroad, S.harmful results influenced by "lozenge dislocation" of side frame will be more serious.
.o Summary of the invention It would be desirable to provide a bogie mechanism of railway wagon by installing a 0 pair of elastic cross braces passing through the bolster web between the two side 20 frames of the bogie and a structure of elastic pads between the side frames and loadsupporting saddles, so as to release the waggling constraint of wheel sets and to overcome the harmful results of bogie "lozenge dislocation", thereby enhancing the yaw stiffness of the bogie.
The present invention provides a bogie of railway wagon comprising wheel sets, side frames, bolsters, damping devices, load-supporting saddles and springs, in which two cross braces pass through the predisposed apertures in a web of the bolsters both ends of the braces are joined with the two side frames, and both !1481 -RNM:SJ:40447528 1A Printed 26 March 2002 (11:52) ends of said frames are supported on wheel sets by means of elastic pads and loadsupporting saddles.
Said two cross braces connect the two side frames into a whole to form a fourbar mechanism. No consolidated constraints are required at the cross point of two braces, i.e. there is no need of securing the braces together.
A bogie of railway wagon proposed by the invention is resiliently connected to the bearing sets mounted on the side frames via two cross braces, which, in addition to prevention of "lozenge dislocation" occurring on both side frames, can also achieve the object of stable running and reduction of wheel rail abrasion. Load-supporting saddles are mounted on bearings. Elastic pads are installed between load-supporting saddles and side frames. Since elastic pads have a certain vertical deflection and form resilient suspension of the bogie, constraints on rotating, lateral and longitudinal i displacements of wheel sets are generated according to the vertical, longitudinal, lateral stiffness of elastic pads. Through suitable selection of its stiffness parameters, oooo good elastic positioning function of side frames and wheel sets can be achieved to adapt with the requirements of various velocities and axle weight, thereby improving the wagon vertical and horizontal dynamic performance while improving its curve passing performance, so as to raise the crawling critical velocity of the wagon and to reduce the abrasion between wheels and rails.
Brief Description of the Drawins Preferred embodiments of the invention will be described below in detail with reference to the drawings, wherein: FIG. 1 is a side view schematic diagram of a bogie of railway wagon according to the invention; FIG.2 is a top view schematic diagram of the bogie of railway wagon according to the invention; FIG.3 is a front view schematic diagram of the bogie of railway wagon according to invention; FIG.4 is a schematic diagram of the location of a flat-shaped elastic pad in the bogie of wagon according to the invention; is a schematic diagram of a saddle-shaped elastic pad in the bogie of railway wagon according to the invention; FIG6 is a schematic diagram of a pin bush and a bearing set structure of the bogie of railway wagon according to the present invention.
Descrition of the Preferred Embodiments As shown in FIG.S 1-6, the bogie of railway wagon proposed by the invention comprises wheel sets 8, side frames 1, bolster 2, damping derives 3, load-supporting saddles springs 4, in which two cross braces 9,10 pass through the predisposed apertures 17 in the web of bolster 2, both ends of braces 9,10 are resiliently joined with two side frames 1 together, and both ends. of said frame 1 are supported on wheel set 8 by means of elastic pads 6 or 18 and load-supporting saddles 7.
Two bearing sets 12 are mounted outside or inside of side frame 1. A connecting 15 strut 11 is mounted on a bearing set 12. Shrink rings are set on both end portions of said braces 9,10. The shrink rings are supported around said connecting strut 11 respectively. A resilient pin bush 13 is installed between the end portion shrink rings ooo.
of said braces 9, 10 and connecting strut 11. An adjusting washer 14, is placed !'"'-between bearing set 12 and resilient pin bush 13. A mounting washer 15 is sheathed *o and a nut 16 is tightened, thus the braces 9, 10 and side frame 1 are resiliently joined together.
The above-mentioned connecting strut 11 may be conical or cylindrical shaped, said resilient pin bush 13 is matched with connecting strut 11, which can also be conical or cylindrical shaped.
Said bearing set 12 mounting outside or inside of side frame 1 is located nearby the central line of two wheel sets 8.
According to the structure of the bogie, the elastic pad mounted between said side frame 1 and load-supporting saddles 7 can be a saddle-shaped elastic pad 6, or a flat-shaped elastic pad 18, elastically positioning connection between said side frame 1 and elastic pad can be realized via double positioning pins 19 secured on the elastic pad. In application, if the suspension requires larger deflection, a saddle-shaped elastic pad 6 can be used, while if the longitudinal, lateral shear stiffness of the suspension is required, a flat-shaped elastic pad 18 can be adopted.
Since both side frames 1 of the bogie are supported by elastic cross braces, yaw stiffness of the bogie can be more than 8 X 10 6 N.M/rad, inter-axle shear stiffness can be about 2 X 10 6 N. M, and the pre-tightening force of the resilient pin bush can be adjusted according to demand to achieve the anticipated critical velocity of the wagon, so as to further improve the running stability of the wagon.
