Abstract

A brush (1) with artificial bristles, which is particularly suited as a toothbrush, has bunches of bristles (3) composed of the individual bristles (4), to which the individual bristles (4) may be fused, glued or welded. The individual bristles (4) are arranged at an angle within their bunch of bristles (3) against one another and opposite the plane formed by the bristle area and/or opposite the brush body (2) holding them, in such a way that when pressure is applied they individually move slightly sideways perpendicularly to the bunch of bristles (3) as a whole and thus give way to this pressure and simultaneously increase the effective surface.
