Abstract
1. Process for producing castings, especially in spherical graphite moulds, of the kind in which the molten metal is poured from a ladle into a mould, characterised in that on the one hand, the magnesium content of the molten metal is between 0.03 and 0.07% and the aluminium content thereof is at least 0.1% and, on the other hand, that whilst pouring the molten metal the already known technique of pouring into a mould in which the atmosphere has previously been rendered inert by pouring liquid nitrogen into the bottom of the mould is utilised.
