Novel compounds of the general formula I

<??>Actinomadura melliaura nov. sp. (ATCC 39691) produces four novel compounds which have been designated AT 2433 A1, AT 2433 A2, AT 2433 B1 and AT 2433 B2. The novel compounds or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof exhibit antibacterial and antitumor activity.
