Abstract
This Soft Sole Baby/Toddler 'Thong' is a new concept inspired by the very popular 'Baby Moccasin' design and offers the following distinct features; 1. The dual layer leather sole eliminates the commonly occurring irritation to a baby's or toddler's foot from wearing shoes with exposed raw edges of leather inside the shoe. This unfavourable flaw is found in most soft sole baby footwear due to the shoe's upper having been sewn directly to the sole leaving exposed edges on the inside of the shoe. This shoe design provides a soft flat inner sole surface without uncomfortable edges. 2. The Thong shaped upper allows for the widest point of the child's foot to move freely as does the elasticated ankle. Pediatricians state that babies & toddlers feet need to move freely while in the early stages of bone growth and muscle development to avoid any adverse long term issues. This design eliminates those problems aids the child to walk as if bare foot and stay cool in warm climates.
