Description
WO 01/43454 PCT/DEOO/04377 Description Distributor device with a supporting element in a telecommunication installation 5 The invention relates to a distributor device for incoming and outgoing electric lines in a telecommunication installation, the distributor device having at least one vertical rod-like supporting 10 element for contact components which can be stacked above one another and are combined to form a distributor block. It has hitherto been normal practice, for example in 15 the case of line distributors of Australian Telecom, to install such supporting elements in a cylindrical circular arrangement close to the road and to hermetically seal them with a cylindrical cover. The cover is attached to a round base plate through which 20 the lines, combined to form cables, are conducted in corresponding holes. These passages have been sealed with strip-shaped sealing material which has been pressed into the gap between the cable and the inside wall of the hole. Desiccant included in the closed 25 interior space made it possible to prevent the formation of condensation occurring in the case of wide temperature fluctuations. The sealing compound was only inserted after the supporting elements had been mounted on the base plate. Due to the narrow space conditions, 30 particularly at the inner rear side of the cables, however, this is associated with problems. The invention is based on the object of facilitating the assembly of the distributor device and particularly 35 the sealing. This object is achieved by the invention in accordance with claim 1. Before the contact components are mounted WO 01/43454 PCT/DEOO/04377 -2 and the lines are connected to them, the sealing bush is pushed over the end of the cable and sealed against the cable before being inserted into the hole in the base plate and it is also possible to compensate for 5 different cable diameters. The tolerances of the outside diameter of the bush and of the diameter of the hole are so close that the gap between them can be reliably sealed, for example by means of a simple 0-ring. 10 Advantageous further developments of the invention are characterized by claims 2 to 5: The pinching element according to claim 2 can be 15 formed, for example, of a soft elastic material which has such a high degree of deformation that even different cable diameters can be reliably bridged. Screwing the bush parts together results in uniform reliable sealing all around. The contact pressure can 20 be kept so large that the cable is effectively strain-relieved. The development according to claim 3 simplifies the attachment of the supporting element to the base plate. 25 According to claim 5, the bush, together with the flange-like holding means, is formed as an integral molded part on which the supporting element can be anchored largely positively according to claim 4. If the supporting element were to be attached directly to 30 the base plate, the holding means on the latter would have to be designed, for example, in the form of threaded holes which is associated with correspondingly great expenditure. 35 In the text which follows, the invention will be explained in greater detail with reference to an exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing, in which: WO 01/43454 PCT/DEOO/04377 -3 figure 1 shows a vertical part-section through a distributor device, figure 2 shows a partial top view of the distributor 5 device according to figure 1. According to figures 1 and 2, a distributor device has a base plate 1 which is provided with round through holes 2 for cables 3 with incoming or outgoing 10 lines 4. These are connected to contact components 5 which are anchored in a cable arrangement in a vertical rod-like supporting element 6. The supporting elements are distributed circularly around a vertical central holding tube 7 in such a manner that connecting 15 elements 8 of the contact components 5 protrude to the outside in an easily accessible manner. In the round holes 2 of the base plate 1, bushes 9 are inserted which are sealed with respect to the inside 20 wall of the hole by means of annular sealing elements 10 in the form of O-rings, inserted into the outer jacket. The cables 3 are passed through the bush 9 and sealed with respect to its inside wall by means of an annular pinching element 11 which can be pressed 25 together axially by means of a screwing element 12 which can be screwed into the bush. The bush 9 is provided on its top facing the supporting element with a flange-like holding means 13 for a foot 30 element 14 of the supporting element 6, the contour of which is continued in the foot element 14. The holding means form a U-shaped web 15 which partially encloses the foot element 14. Holding lugs protruding towards the outside are screwed together with screw-type ears 35 16 of the holding means 13. The base plate 1 is provided in the front area of the holding means 13 with upstanding lugs 17 which are screwed together with a WO 01/43454 PCT/DEOO/04377 -4 further holding lug 15 of the holding means 13.
Claims (2)
- 2. The distributor device as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that between the bush (9) and the 25 cable (3), an annular pinching element (11) is inserted which can be axially pressed together by means of an annular screw-type element (12) which can be screwed into the bush. 30 3. The distributor device as claimed in claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the bush (9) can be inserted into the base plate (1) from the top and can be attached to it. 35 4. The distributor device as claimed in claim 1, 2 or 3, characterized in that at the vertical rod-like supporting element (6), the contact components (5), WO 01/43454 PCT/DEOO/04377 -6 stacked above one another, are combined to form a distributor block, and in that the bush has at its end facing the distributor block holding means (13) for the supporting element 5 (6).
- 5. The distributor device as claimed in claim 4, characterized in that the holding means (13) are constructed to be flange-like and are provided with 10 recesses for positive reception of the lower end of the channel-like supporting element (6).
