Abstract

The present application relates to a method for preparing superfine dried fish cartilage powder, with broken cell walls. The method involves cleaning and steaming ling fish bone, mincing the bone to 10-20 mesh, cooling to -10 to -20 degrees for 24 hours, freeze drying, and then grinding to 3000-4000 mesh superfine granules.

Description:
Traditionally fish cartilage is disposed or just used as by product into pets food manufacturing or other food industries
The rich calcium, glycoside and collagen elements in Australian deep rocking ling fish (Genypterus blacodes) have been neglected and not have been used as good raw material for further processing.
We have developed new innovative methodologies and processes to produce ready to eat 100% dried fish cartilage with cell wall broken superfine powder. The following processing methodologies been developed:
1. Fresh ling fish bone will be cleaned and steamed with temperature between 100 degrees for 45 minutes 2. Place steamed fish cartilage into mincer and mince the fish cartilage between 10-20 mesh and then spread the mince evenly on 2mm stainless steel flat plate and thickness of mince is between 2-3cm, then put the plate into freezer room between -10 to -20 degrees for 24 hours, first phase of cell wall broken process finished 3. The frozen fish cartilage mince then placed into vacuum frozen dryer for 13 hours' and 15 mins drying process. During the process (attachment parameter setup), the water from frozen fish cartilage mince will evaporate directly from frozen stage under vacuum set up, second cell wall broken process finished. 4. Frozen Vacuum dried fish cartilage mince will be placed into frozen grinding machine and grinned into 3000-4000mesh superfine granules, ready for further usage and direct consuming.
