Abstract

A vertical trolley system to assistin the machine grinding of a vertical concrete surface in combination with a wet grinder. The disclosed inventive device includes a trolley's base 1 made of aluminium, manufactured to hold a 125mm wet grinder positioned vertically onto trolley base atfront working end of trolley with the use of aluminium clamp spacers 5. The lower grinder clamp 6 is made of aluminium and is attached to the trolley base 1 designed to securely support the 125mm wet grinder upright in place The grinder clamp 6 can be removed by loosening the fasteners to replace the grinder when required. The trolley has an adjustable handle post 3 and core 4 also of aluminium attached to trolley base 1towards back of trolley base 1 above castor wheel 10. The handle has three adjustable heights to suit the user's comfort. A steel cord tag 9 is attached to the end of the handle core 4 to route the electrical cord safelyawayfrom the working end of the grinder. The guard 2 which hinders the concrete slurry spraying up is made of steel and houses a suction/vacuum outlet 7 made of steel alsofor the option of dry grinding. The suction/vacuum outlet 7 has a rubber block off which is to be attached whilstwet grinding. The user is to attach a vacuum bag (not included with system) when dry grinding. The handle core 4 is fitted with a rubber skin 8 for a comfortable secure grip whilst operating the system. Three castor wheels 10 are used to support and move the vertical trolley system along a concrete surface when in use. The vertical trolley system rolls along the concrete edge. A 125mm wet grinder is attached to the vertical trolley system and grinds the concrete smooth and level. The wet grinder requires mains power and a water hose connected to the water hose component on grinder to operate. The vertical trolley system has been invented for wet grinding with the option to use when dry grinding as a vacuum outlet attachment is included.

Description

COMPLETE SPECIFICATION STANDARD PATENT VERTICAL TROLLEY SYSTEM
The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me:
VERTICAL TROLLEY SYSTEM BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
(0001) At present the operator is required to hold by hand a wet grinder in order to machine grind vertical concrete edges on pool edge vertical faces, concrete benchtop edges and step vertical edges.
(0002) The current method to grind concrete vertical edges is time consuming, dangerous due to working within close proximity of water without a stable trolley device to hold wet grinder in place and causes fatigue on the operators arms due to holding the grinder in position for long lengths of time to achieve a straight grinded edge on the concrete.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
(0003) This invention has been specially devised to eliminate these identified issues whilst machine grinding a concrete vertical edge.
(0004) The vertical trolley system is a trolley designed to securely hold a 125mm wet grinder in position so the attached grinder can be rolled effortlessly along the edge of a concrete surface and the connected cup wheel on grinder can grind the concrete edge/vertical face resulting in a perfect straight grinded smooth edge in a fraction of the time with less fatigue on the operator and in a safer working manner.
(0005) This vertical trolley system has been designed for grinding a variety of concrete vertical edges including pools, bench tops, steps and vertical overhangs on walls. The vertical trolley system is designed to hold a 125mm variable speed wet grinder with RCD.
(0006) The vertical trolley system is made of aluminium and steel parts however other materials could possibly be used such as poly plastic and the use of more steel components also.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
(0007) The vertical trolley system can be better understood with reference to the illustrations of the invention APPENDIX 1-A:
Figure 1 is an elevated view of the vertical trolley system.
Figure 2 is an elevated diagonal view of vertical trolley system where vacuum outlet is visible and cord tag.
Figure 3 is a side view of vertical trolley system.
Figure 4 is the back view showing castor wheels and guard.
DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS
(0008) Figures 1 - 4 of the drawings illustrate the trolley's base 1, the adjustable handle post 3 and core 4 all made of aluminium. The systems handle has three adjustable heights to suit the operator's needs. A steel cord tag 9 is attached to the end of the handle core 4 to route the electrical cord safely away from the working end of the grinder. The lower grinder clamp 6 is shown in figures 1 - 4 and is made of aluminium. The clamp is designed to securely support a 125mm inch grinder in place upright. The grinder clamp 6 is held in place with the use of aluminium clamp spacers 5 shown in figure 3 and 4. The grinder clamp 6 can be removed by loosening the fasteners to replace the grinder when required. The guard 2 shown in figure 2 hinders the concrete slurry spraying up is made of steel. The guard houses a suction/vacuum outlet 7 made of steel for the option of dry grinding. The suction/vacuum outlet 7 has a rubber block off which is attached whilst in wet grinding mode figures 1-3. The handle core 4 is fitted with a rubber skin 8 for a comfortable secure grip whilst grasped by the hand when operating the vertical trolley system. Figures 2 - 4 illustrate castor wheels 10 located to sides and back of trolley to support and move the trolley base 1 upon a surface when in use.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY
(0009) The vertical trolley system has been invented for the concrete construction industry to assist the operator with grinding of vertical concrete edges with the use of an attached wet grinder. The vertical trolley system is rolled along the concretes surface edge whilst wet grinder attached to vertical trolley system with a grinding cup grinds the concrete vertical edge to a smooth even finish. The wet grinder requires mains power and a standard water hose connected to the water hose component on grinder to operate.
(0010) The vertical trolley system has been invented for wet grinding (non-suction) of concrete edges but an option is included with this system for dry grinding with the inclusion of a suction/vacuum outlet attachment. A vacuum bag not included would be required with the dry grinding option.
(0011) With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and describe, and accordingly all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to falling within the scope of the invention.
