Abstract

A smart and automated patient monitoring bed for COVID patients is the proposed invention which will manage and monitor the patient completely without the need for human intervention or caretaker. The Smart Bed 100 includes various buttons and sanitizer blowers 1Oa and 1Ob which will blow out the sanitizers at regular intervals so that the bed and the environment around the patient are sanitized regularly. The proposed invention also encloses an alert system to call out the nurses or caretaker in case of emergency. Also, the smart bed dispenses medicines at regular intervals with an alarm. A SMART AND AUTOMATED PATIENT MONITORING BED FOR COVID PATIENTS FIELD OF INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of smart and automated patient monitoring bed for COVID patients. The bed is designed for communicating over the cloud along with camera and the patient can be monitored 24*7 The proposed invention also includes options to spray sanitizers at regular intervals and clean the surroundings of the patient now and then.

[0004] Doctors and nurses have to spend most of their time with patients. There is a need for a mechanism where the patient can take care of themselves without depending on the nurse or doctor and avoid contact with the nurses as much as possible. During the high time of COVID there is a need to invent a technique where the COVID patient can be monitored by the doctors or nurses without have much physical contact.
[0005] In the existing system, there is a need for manpower to monitor the patient regularly. Especially during the high time of pandemics, it is difficult for the care takers and nurses who risk their life to treat patients tested positive for corona virus disease. Thus, the proposed invention implements a bed which includes options to communicate with the caretaker anytime. The bed has a single click option to text or calls a person. The bed is monitored using a camera mounted on it. Bluetooth establishes communication among the cloud server and the mobile of the caretaker. The proposed invention will solve all the disadvantages that a caretaker faces while taking care of the bedridden patient.
[0006] The proposed invention is a smart and automated patient monitoring bed designed especially for COVID patients. The invention is a smart bed with various options to support the patient to take care of themselves and reduce the risks of nurses and doctors. The bed includes options to communicate with the nurse or doctor 24*7 through message and call with a single button.
[0007] The proposed smart bed is connected to the cloud server and the information related to medicines as well as their basic parameters are stored on it. The bed will also be sanitized at regular intervals to kill the viruses and avoid the spread of the corona virus disease. The smart bed also comprises of a camera and thus the patient is monitored from anytime anywhere using the camera mounted on to the smart bed.

[0009] In the view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known types of patient monitoring techniques now present in the prior art, the present invention provides an improved system. As such, the general purpose of the present invention, which will be described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide a new and improved automated smart bed which will monitor the patient that has all the advantages of the prior art and none of the disadvantages.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0010] In the view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known types of techniques for monitoring the patient now present in the prior art, the present invention provides an improved and efficient bed which will provide all the facilities for the patient and can take care of themselves and which is the need of an hour invention. As such, the general purpose of the present invention, which will be described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide a new and improved smart and automated patient monitoring bed that includes facilities to dispense medicines and sanitize the bed at regular intervals which has all the advantages of the prior art and none of the disadvantages.
[0011] The main objective of the proposed invention is to design and implement a smart bed that will help the patients to take care of themselves to a maximum extent possible and reduce the risks associated with doctors and nurses. The proposed invention is connected to a cloud server and the data base obtained from the same can be used for machine learning techniques and generate reports and graphs.
[0012] Yet another important aspect of the proposed invention is that the bed includes an alert system which will send alert messages to the caretaker or nurses whenever the patient wants to contact them. The call can be placed to the caretaker just with a button click that is provided on the sides of the bed.
[0013] Another important object of the proposed invention is that the smart bed will be designed in such a user-friendly manner that even an illiterate person can use the bed without any difficulty and spend time for searching in the options.
[0014] Yet another important aspect of the proposed invention is that the smart bed will be monitored by the doctors or nurses who are treating the patient 24*7 using the camera that is mounted on to the smart bed.
[0015] Yet another aspect of the proposed invention is that it has a medicine tray ejection system that will eject out the tray along with the tablets that are prescribed by doctors at regular intervals as per the prescription.
[0016] Another important aspect of the proposed invention is that the bed will be sanitized automatically at regular intervals as preprogrammed to sanitize the bed as well as the environment around the patient to avoid the spread of the corona virus disease.
[0017] Yet another important aspect of the proposed invention is that smart bed is fully automated and reduce the burden placed on nurses and doctors and also reducing the manpower required to a maximum extent possible.

[0024] The proposed invention is a smart and automated patient monitoring bed for COVID patients that will reduce the risk while treating the COVID patients by doctors or nurses. As far as the corona virus disease is considered, the important point is to maintain social distancing so that the spread of the virus can be avoided. According to the researcher's corona virus disease is highly contagious in nature and there is a need to avoid the touches to a maximum extent possible.
[0025] The proposed invention is a smart bed which will take care of the patient without much involvement by nurses or doctors. The bed includes various options which will help the patient to take care of themselves without depending much on the nurses and even the bed will be sanitized at regular intervals and will maintain a hygiene environment around the patient, which is very important factor to stop the spread of the corona virus disease.
[0026] Reference will now be made in detail to the exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure. Before describing the detailed embodiments that are in accordance with the present disclosure, it should be observed that the embodiment resides primarily in combinations arrangement of the system according to an embodiment herein and as exemplified in FIG. 1.
[0027] Figure 1 illustrates the schematic view of the smart and automated patient monitoring for COVID patients over the cloud. The smart bed has buttons to take the medicine tray and a button to get the water bottle with a single click. The smart and automated bed is connected to a remote controller through a Bluetooth. The Bluetooth also establishes communication with the cloud server so that the mechanism can deliver alert messages to the mobile phone of the nurse or doctor. The smart bed setup also includes options to position the bed; wherein the positioning can be adjusted by the patients themselves without the need for a care taker to do so. The smart bed also includes options to sanitize the bed at regular intervals so that environment around the bed will be regularly sanitized.
[0028] Figure 2 illustrates the Block diagram of the smart and automated bed setup. The smart bed 100 consists of various buttons on its either sides to support the patient to access the basic needs as well as call out the caretaker in cases of emergency. The smart bed 100 can also be operated using the remote controller 101 and the smart bed 100 encloses a Bluetooth 102 to establish communication with the remote controller as well as the cloud server 103. The cloud server is preprogrammed and saves all the necessary information such as the mobile number of the nurses or doctors attending them, the medicine prescription of a particular patient and the number of times the particular patient consumed water between the particular time period and much more. Thus, the caretaker can read the entire activity of the patient with a click of connecting to the cloud server 103. The smart bed 100 is monitored by using a camera 104, which helps the caretaker to monitor the patient continuously 24*7 without the need for being physically present around them all the time. The smart bed 100 includes button 105 to reposition the bed as per the need and comfort of the patient. The sides of the smart bed 100 includes a wetness indicator 106 which will blink with a LED light along with an alert message to the acre taker that the diaper needs to be changed, in case the patient is bedridden patient. The smart bed 100 includes a call button 107 to give a call to the caretaker as soon as the button is pressed by the patient. The server will have two numbers saved on it and will automatically give a call to the second number once the call of the first call to the nurse goes unanswered. The smart bed 100 also includes button 108 and 109 for getting the medicines and water near to them respectively as and when required. The sanitize sprayers 1Oa and 1Ob will dispense sanitizers into air and sanitize the bed at regular intervals to avoid the spread of the corona virus.
[0029] Figure 3 illustrates the Flow diagram of the smart and automated bed setup. The patient can communicate with the caretaker even when they are not physically present around them. The medicine tray is ejected out with an alarm in front of them as per the preset prescription. The patient can also take other tablets apart from regular ones such as for headache or stomach pain by pressing the medicine button 108, so that the patient can get access to the medicine tray that is filled in by the caretaker. The patient can get access to water bottle if in need of t by a single click on button 109. Thus, the patient will be monitored 24*7 and also, they can call the nurse or care taker with a single button click.

Claims (7)

1. A smart and automated patient monitoring system over the cloud for
COVID patients comprises of a Cloud server, a smart and automated bed set up, a
Bluetooth, a remote control, Plurality of sanitizer sprayers and a camera.
2. As claimed in claim 1, the said invention includes a smart and automated
bed which comprises of various options to communicate with the mobile phone of
the doctor or nurse as and when required. The COVID patient has to press the call
button to communicate with the caretaker and the call be connected to the
preprogrammed mobile number of the nurse or an alarm will be called out to the
nurse or doctor cabin along with patient details.
3. As claimed in claim 2, the smart bed also has options to sanitize the bed at
regular intervals. The smart bed also includes a remote control as claimed in claim
1, which has all the options that are provide on the bed sides. The patient can also
sanitize the surroundings as and when required.
4. As claimed in claim 1, the smart and automated patient monitoring bed
comes with a camera that will help the caretaker that the patient needs their
attention.
5. As claimed in claim 1, the said invention includes a Bluetooth that
establishes connection with the remote control and the smart bed to facilitate
communication as well as to communicate with the cloud server.
6. As claimed in claim 4, the smart and automated bed has a camera that is
connected to mobile phone of the caretaker through Bluetooth over the cloud.
Thus, the caretaker can visualize the patient from anywhere at any time.
7. As claimed in claim 1, the said invention includes a cloud server and
establishes all the communications through Bluetooth and remote-control sensors
and thus based on Internet of things.
