Abstract

The disclosed scalp and skin massager is a cylindrically-shaped shell 1 with the two rows of massaging tines 2 on its upper surface, and an open bottom to be placed over a neck of the roll-on bottle containing oils to manually stimulate the human scalp and skin with simultaneous application of said oils. The two-sized tines bend when the user presses the massager onto the skin while permitting the ball of the roll-on bottle to contact the skin and apply oil without extensive pressure. To prevent unintentional removal of the massager from a roll-on bottle there is an inner thickening flange 3 provided holding the roll-on bottle firmly in the central hole 4 of the device. Fig. 1

IMPROVED SCALP AND SKIN STIMULATING AND OILING MASSAGER
According to modern research in many countries, scalp and skin massage can improve conditions of hair and skin in order to keep them healthy. Recent scientific findings in Japan i and Hong Kong demonstrate that an effect of massage on the scalp and skin can be seen on a cellular level. Numerous researches in China and India show how essential oils have been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda to stimulate and strengthen hair follicles, resulting in hair rejuvenation. The recent tests in the USA show that massage enables penetration of various oils into targeted areas of skin. It has been proved that 0 combining focused massage and an application of the appropriate mix of essential oils can be just as effective as conventional hair care products, but much safer and with many fewer side effects.
The common methods of the scalp and skin massaging include the use of hands and 5 various manual and mechanical massagers. Essential oils are typically applied on the scalp and skin by hands, and with the use of brushes or roll-on bottles. The latter is the modern method to apply small amounts of expensive essential oils to the targeted areas of the scalp and skin. Unfortunately, the existing devices inadequately address the need for an integrated solution that allows to purposefully stimulating the scalp and skin by its !0 synchronous massaging and oiling.
This invention has been specially devised in order to provide an improved scalp and skin stimulating and oiling massager of simple, cheap, effective and readily reusable construction. The invention also allows a user to easily applying essential oils to the scalp 25 and skin, while at the same time massaging the problem zones. The invention is designed to be placed on the top of the commercially available roll-on bottle to provide the scalp or skin massage, while a rolling boll of the bottle applies a thin layer of oil to the massaged areas.
The invention made in one piece. The invention is essentially a cylindrically-shaped flexible 30 hollow shell of proper diameter to be placed tightly over a neck of roll-on bottles filled with oils. The invention can be manufactured in different sizes and be installed on different types of roll-on bottles. The relatively tight fit provided with an inner thickening flange in the top part of the cylinder permits for reliable manipulation of the invention during massaging procedures. Two rows of the tines on the upper surface of the massager are intended for scalp and skin stimulating.

The improved scalp and skin massager is preferably made from silicon; however, other materials can also be used. For example, soft plastics materials that are harmless to the scalp and oil-protected are found suitable to manufacture the invention.
ยป The invention is easy to clean and to wash: when finished using the invention, the user may remove the invention from the neck of the roll-on bottle, clean the device, and rinse it by running water. The invention is also reusable with new roll-on bottles of the same model.
The invention may be better understood with reference to the illustrations of embodiments of 0 the invention which:
Figure 1 is an elevation of an improved scalp and skin stimulating and oiling massager, including a cylindrical shell 1, the two rows of tines 2 on the upper surface of the massager, and an inner flange 3 in the central hole 4 of the device.
Figure 2 is a top-view diagram of an embodiment of the invention. The body 1 and two rows of tines 2 of the invention made of an elastically-deformable, flexible material. The two-sized tines bend when the user presses the massager onto the skin while permitting the ball of the roll-on bottle to contact the skin and apply oil without extensive pressure. The flange 3 holds !0 the roll-on bottle firmly in the central hole 4 of the device.
The cylindrically-shaped with rounded tip tines 2 are exemplary and not limiting the scope of the invention. Tine shapes may also include conical, pyramidal, conical with protrusions on tip, conical with balled tip, and cylindrical with balled tip.

Claims (5)

  1. The claims defining the invention are as follows:
    1. The scalp and skin massager is a cylindrically-shaped device having the massaging tines on its top and an open bottom to be placed over the neck of a roll-on bottle containing essential oils for use in manually stimulating human scalps and skin with simultaneous application of said oils to improve the scalp and skin conditions.
  2. 2. The massager as claimed in claim 1 can be manufactured in different sizes to fit appropriate sizes of different roll-on bottles.
  3. 3. The massager as claimed in claim 1 formed in one piece using silicon.
  4. 4. The massager as claimed in claim 3 is reusable: it can be recharged with the roll-on bottles of the same model.
  5. 5. The massager as claimed in claim 4 can be removed from the neck of the roll-on bottle to allow washing the device or replacing the roll-on bottle.
