Description

Driving Assistance Device
This application claims priority from Chinese patent application 201610279853.2, filed 29 April 2016, the entire content of which is incorporated by reference.
Field of the Invention
The invention relates to the field of motor vehicle electronics, in particular to a driving assistance device.
Description of the Related Art
Motor vehicle is a widely used transportation facility. The car ownership of residents in China is rapidly increasing with the continuous development of economy. The increasing number of motor vehicles results in more traffic accidents while providing convenience for social production and the people's life. According to the statistics, among all road traffic accidents in China, rear-end collision accidents of motor vehicles account for more than 70%. Therefore, it is of great significance for improving road traffic safety by analyzing causes of rear-end collision, and taking active measures to reduce the occurrence of rear-end collision accidents. A rear-end collision is a traffic accident in which the head end of a following vehicle crashes into the rear of a preceding vehicle when the two vehicles run in the same lane at a following distance. When the preceding vehicle decelerates or changes the lane, and the driver of the following vehicle does not brake in time or give up overtaking, a rear-end collision accident occurs easily. It is very important for the driver to focus on the taillight of the preceding vehicle, and timely judge the driving state of the preceding vehicle to prevent rear-end collision. In the prior art, no driving assistance device is available to help the driver judge the driving state of the preceding vehicle. If the driver of the following vehicle is temporarily distracted for some factors (e.g., telephone ring, conversation of passengers or some special events in sight) and ignores prompt information of the taillight of the preceding vehicle, a rear-end collision accident occurs easily.
Summary of the Invention
For the defects of the prior art, the technical problem to be solved by the invention is to provide a driving assistance device to prompt a driver the driving state of a preceding vehicle, thus reducing the occurrence of rear-end collision accidents when the driver is temporarily distracted.
In order to solve the technical problem, the technical solution of the invention is a driving assistance device comprising a video camera, an image acquisition unit, a computer and a voice unit; the video camera shoots images in front of a motor vehicle; the image acquisition unit periodically acquires static pictures of the images shot by the video camera; the computer receives the static pictures from the image acquisition unit, and analyzes the static pictures by using image recognition technology; judges whether the motor vehicle exists in a statistic picture by capturing a license plate in the static picture; continues to capture taillight information in the static picture when the motor vehicle exists in the static picture; judges that a preceding vehicle is in a braking state when a brake light of the motor vehicle in the static picture is on; judges that the preceding vehicle is in a left turning state if the left turn light of the motor vehicle in the static picture is on; judges that the preceding vehicle is in a right turning state if the right turn light of the motor vehicle in the static picture is on; and controls the voice unit to play voice prompts of braking, left turning and right turning of the preceding vehicle respectively according to the driving state of the preceding vehicle; and the voice unit plays voice under the control of the computer.
Further, the computer captures license plate information in a static picture, stores the license plate information and state information of the preceding vehicle, compares the captured license plate information and driving state information of the preceding vehicle with the license plate information and state information of the preceding vehicle stored the last time, controls the voice unit to play the driving state information of the preceding vehicle if the information is inconsistent, and stops analyzing the current static picture if the information is consistent.
Further, the driving assistance device also comprises an adjusting unit, the adjusting unit adjusts shooting angles of the video camera under the control of the computer.
Further, the driving assistance device also comprises a human-computer interaction unit, the human-computer interaction unit displays relevant information of the driving assistance device and is used for a user to input information.
Further, the driving assistance device also comprises a camera, the camera periodically shoots pictures in front of the motor vehicle and transfers the pictures to the computer, the computer then captures traffic light information in the pictures by using image recognition technology, and controls the voice unit to play the traffic light information.
Further, the driving assistance device also comprises a positioning device, the positioning device is connected with the computer, the computer stores navigation information and controls the voice unit to play the navigation information.
Beneficial effects: (1) The driving assistance device of the invention is installed in a motor vehicle to capture taillight information of the preceding vehicle by using the video camera and image recognition technology, judge whether the preceding vehicle is in a braking state, left turning state or right turning state, and give a voice prompt to a driver to prevent a rear-end collision if the driver ignores the taillight information of the preceding vehicle. (2) The computer in the driving assistance device of the invention compares the captured license plate information and driving state information of the preceding vehicle with the license plate information and state information of the preceding vehicle stored the last time, and the voice unit gives a voice prompt only when the license plate information or driving state information of the preceding vehicle changes to prevent repeated voice prompt. (3) The driving assistance device of the invention adjusts shooting angles of the video camera by the adjusting unit, shooting angles affect the distance between the preceding vehicle and the following vehicle when the video camera shoots the rear of the preceding vehicle the first time, and different shooting angles help the driving assistance device of the invention get adapted to different speeds of the motor vehicle. (4) The human-computer interaction unit equipped in the driving assistance device of the invention makes it convenient for the driver to set parameters. (5) The driving assistance device of the invention captures traffic light information of the preceding vehicle by using the camera and image recognition technology, and gives a voice prompt to assist the driver, especially a driver with color amblyopia in safe driving.
