Abstract

A double chamber vessel for containing liquids, such as a drinking bottle or vacuum flask comprises a first chamber (4) for holding a liquid (6) and a second chamber (8) for storing an object such as a confectionery product (10). Preferably, the vessel is transparent so that the confectionery product is visible. The first chamber surrounds at least part of the second chamber, and he chambers may be closed by stoppers, hinged lids or adhesive tape. The vessel may be attached to a bicycle frame by brackets engaging the chamber closures. Figure 1

Description

DOUBLE CHAMBER VESSEL
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The invention relates to a double chamber vessel.
[0002] Vessel containing liquids, such as water, are used by sports people when bicycling, running, etc. Bicycles often have means for attaching vessels such as drinking bottles to their frames so that each vessel is easily and quickly accessible for the cyclist whilst he/she is pedaling.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0003] The object of the present invention is to a double chamber vessel.
[0004] According to the invention there is provided a double chamber vessel comprising a first chamber for holding a liquid and a second chamber for storing an object such as a confectionery product, wherein the first chamber surrounds at least part of the second chamber.
[0005] In another preferred embodiment, the transparent such that an object stored in the second chamber is visible.
[0006] In another preferred embodiment, the first chamber is accessed from the top of the vessel and the second chamber is accessed from the base of the vessel.
[0007] In another preferred embodiment, the first chamber and the second chamber are generally cylindrical.
[0008] In another preferred embodiment, second chamber is elongate and extends longitudinally from the base of the vessel towards the top thereof.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0009] Figure 1 is a longitudinal cross-sectional view of a vessel according to the present invention;
[0010] Figure 2 is a side view of the vessel attached to a section of a bicycle frame. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0011] Referring to Figure 1, the vessel is a plastic, generally cylindrical drinking bottle 2 having a first chamber 4 for holding a liquid 6, and a second chamber 8 for storing an object such as confectionery product 10. The first chamber 4 has an aperture 12 located at the neck of the bottle, and this aperture is sealed by a stopper 14. The second chamber 8 is also generally cylindrical and extends from the base of the bottle towards the neck thereof. The second chamber has an aperture 15 at the base of the bottle, and this aperture is sealed by a stopper 16. The second chamber therefore forms, in effect, an elongate recess in the base of the bottle, the recess being mostly surrounded by the first chamber.
[0012] Referring to Figure 2 shows the drinking bottle attached to a section of a bicycle frame 18 by brackets 20 which engage stoppers 14 and 16. The brackets can be manipulated to engage or release the bottle to or from the frame. Thus, when the cyclist is riding the bicycle, he/she can drink the liquid contained in the first chamber 4 through the neck 12 of the bottle, and can remove the confectionery product 10 stored in the second chamber 8 through the aperture 15. Alternatively, the confectionery product may be accessed through an aperture in the side or top of the vessel, for example.
[0013] The bottle is optionally transparent so that the confectionery product is visible and is thus on display for advertising purposes. In warmer climates, the liquid in the first chamber may help to keep the confectionery product cool, particularly if the bottle is insulated. Thus, a chocolate bar, for example, which is stored in the second chamber, should not melt. Stopper 14 may be replaced by a hinged lid or spout, for example. Stopper 16 may be replaced by any other means, such as a hinged lid, a swivel flap or a piece of adhesive tape, for example.
