The Aggregated Reward or Cashback Mechanic The aggregated cashback is a consumer promotion mechanic or process that combines a number of different or disparate products into one combined event or offer. The aggregated mechanic rewards people for purchasing participating products or services by facilitating the provision of multiple rewards or benefits, which on their own might be of low value and therefore not warrant the effort of participation in a promotion or offer, into an aggregated claim of a larger value. The Aggregated Reward or Cashback Mechanic presents a new promotion event that substantially simplifies and improves promotion opportunities from those that existed prior to its creation. The offer communication drives potential participants to a single claim process to redeem a benefit from multiple purchases or promoted actions The mechanic creates a platform for a substantially simplified promotion offer process that works as a reverse coupon, being that instead of obtaining a coupon and then purchasing the item to derive a reward, discount or benefit, the participant either obtains the item or creates a list of participating items and then claims the benefit by presenting the proof of purchase as an aggregated coupon/s. The mechanic creates an opportunity to bypass individual retail outlets in the communication and implementation process for manufacturer or vendor offers or events thus presenting a retailer agnostic promotion or offer event that presents a direct communication between manufacturers, brands or vendors of retail goods and their purchasers or consumers. Description
The Aggregated Reward or Cashback Mechanic The aggregated cashback is a consumer promotion mechanic or process that combines a number of different or disparate products into one combined event or offer. The aggregated mechanic rewards people for purchasing participating products or services by facilitating the provision of multiple rewards or benefits, which on their own might be of low value and therefore not warrant the effort of participation in a promotion or offer, into an aggregated claim of a larger value. The aggregated reward process firstly provides a link in the offer communication that presents all products that are participating in the aggregated offer. The offer link is primarily evident in the media presentation which includes conventional television, press, digital and social media and presents some or all of the participating items to engage people to participate in the aggregated reward offer. The offer communication drives potential participants to a single claim process which may be completed manually as a written entry or claim form or as an online claim, via a website or as a digital application or "app" that may be downloaded to a smartphone, iPad or tablet style device. The single claim entry process allows offer participants to create a list from the participating products that they wish to identify as being part of an intended aggregated claim. Some offers may require participants to purchase and aggregate a number of different products to claim a single prize or reward. As additional items are added to the list, participants are encouraged by seeing the increase in the value or the combined benefit of the cashback or reward or progress toward their target reward. The list of participating products may also be created by searching the online or other communication for participating products to check if products already purchased are included in the offer. Once the list is complete participants are required to purchase the participating goods or services, if they have not already done so and then confirm and complete their claim by ensuring they have the required proof of purchase to match all items included in the claim. Required proof of purchase may vary and will be stipulated in the terms and conditions of the offer. Proof of purchase will typically be in the form of a purchase receipt or unique code that is contained within the label or packaging of the product. When the participant has completed the aggregated claim form, they are required to submit the claim and proof of purchase for verification or validation. This may be via either an online or "app" process or by mailing in the claim form and relevant proof of purchase documentation. The aggregated reward or cashback mechanic may be presented as a single event or be a process in an ongoing offer platform.
