Description
Siphon trap and piece of furniture The present invention relates to a siphon trap for connection to a basin, especially a sink or a wash basin, according to the preamble of claim 1 and a piece of furniture according to the preamble of claim 10. Conventional siphon traps for connection to a basin such as a sink which is installed in a piece of kitchen furniture or a wash basin which is installed in a piece of bathroom furniture require a far from inconsiderable portion of the storage space of the furniture which is provided beneath the basin. Special solutions are especially required in the case of drawers, which need to spare the siphon pipe. Once the basin and the siphon trap connected thereto has been mounted in a piece of furniture or behind a wall of a furniture body, the cleaning of such a siphon trap can only be performed with a serious amount of work. Moreover, it may further frequently occur during the cleaning of the siphon trap that dirty water can leak into the furniture which may lead to damage in the piece of furniture. It is therefore the object of the present invention to provide a siphon trap for connection to a basin in which the siphon trap requires less useful space of the piece of furniture and which can be cleaned in a very simple way. This object is achieved by a siphon trap for connection to a basin, especially a sink or wash basin, with the features of claim 1 by a piece of furniture with the features of claim 10. In accordance with the invention, the siphon trap allows access to a full pipe which is made of at least two half pipes and is arranged in the liquid reservoir. This allows rapid and easy cleaning of the siphon trap. In accordance with one variant of the embodiment, the siphon trap comprises a frame comprising the liquid reservoir, on which a flap is pivotably arranged which covers the lid. If this flap is folded upwardly and subsequently opens the lid of the siphon trap, liquid contained in the liquid reservoir can flow by way of the flap into a collecting basin disposed beneath the flap without contaminating the furniture or the furniture content. M I IMHUttar PRAMi AU In order to promote a purposeful discharge of the liquid stored in the liquid reservoir by way of the flap a depression is formed according to one variant of the embodiment of the invention on an edge of the flap which is opposite of the swivel axis. In accordance with a further variant of the embodiment of the invention, a first half pipe is formed on the side of the lid facing the liquid reservoir, which half pipe forms a full pipe adjacent to the inlet together with a second half pipe formed in the liquid reservoir. By dividing the drainpipe in the region of the siphon trap, a guidance of the wastewater in one pipe section is further ensured. Moreover, this pipe section can be cleaned rapidly and easily by merely removing the lid. This allows access to the inlet and blockages can be removed easily. The use of chemicals or further mechanical cleaning appliances is thereby avoided. The blockage can be removed without the use of any tools. The dividing joint and the end joint on the half pipe are sealed. The lid is preferably arranged in a circular way and can be closed with the liquid reservoir preferably by way of a bayonet catch. Any desired shaping of the lid and the housing is possible. It does not have to be circular. The lock also does not have to be a bayonet catch. Other locking solutions such as a screw cap are also possible for example. This allows a simple and tool-free maintenance of the siphon trap. The liquid reservoir is used as a water trap according to the principle of immersion. In a piece of furniture equipped with such a siphon trap it is no longer necessary to position the siphon trap directly beneath the wash basin or sink, so that it is not necessary to install a separately arranged drawer in the furniture body in such a piece of furniture or to provide a removed portion in the cover of a furniture. According to one variant of the embodiment, the siphon trap is fastened to one of the vertically upright walls of the furniture body. It is especially inserted into a recess of the vertically upright walls of the furniture body. The siphon trap is thereby arranged in an especially compact manner in the furniture body which saves storage space. A siphon trap arranged in this manner is especially also suitable for installation in lightweight furniture and/or in mobile homes, caravans or bolts, which means wherever there is little storage or useful space and the most efficient utilization of the storage space is required. Mounting of the siphon trap behind or in a bathroom wall is also possible.
In accordance with one variant of the embodiment of the furniture, the flap of the siphon trap in the closed state is flush in an exceptionally compact way with one side of the vertically upright wall of the furniture body facing the useful space. In this case, an opening apparatus by ejection elements is provided. The opening apparatus is actuated by pressing the flap in the closing direction, and the flap opens in such a way that the user is able to conveniently grasp behind the same in order to open it manually completely. It is further prevented in this way that odors can be emitted from the region behind the flap from the cleaning process for example. The section of the drain of the siphon trap that is not used will be sealed by a plug for example. It is also possible that both drainage openings are sealed upon delivery and the respectively required drainage opening is released by breaking out the sealing elements. The flap can be linked by way of a swivel pin to the frame of the liquid reservoir. Various other fastening possibilities for this flap are possible. In a further preferred variant of the embodiment, the liquid reservoir, the inlet and the at least one drain of the siphon trap are arranged to protrude from a side facing away from the useful space of one of the vertically upright walls of the furniture body. This ensures that the siphon trap is arranged between two adjacently arranged furniture parts or behind a rear wall of the furniture and thereby does not make use of the useful or storage space of the furniture. Embodiments of the invention will be explained below in closer detail by reference to the enclosed drawings, wherein: Figs. I to 2 and 4 to 5 show a schematic perspective view of an embodiment of a siphon trap in accordance with the invention with a closed, partly opened and completely opened flap; Fig. 3 shows a schematic view of a further embodiment of a siphon trap in accordance with the invention; Fig. 6 shows a schematic perspective view of the embodiment of the siphon trap with removed lid; Fig. 7 shows a schematic sectional view from above of an embodiment of the siphon trap according to Fig. 1 admitted into a furniture wall; Fig. 8 shows a schematic sectional side view of the siphon trap of Fig. 7 with a collecting basin arranged beneath the flap; Fig. 9 shows a schematic perspective view of an embodiment of the siphon trap with removed flap and removed lid; Figs. 10, 11 show a schematic top view of the siphon trap from the front with and without removed lid; Fig. 12 shows a schematic front view of a piece of furniture with a second trap in accordance with the invention arranged between two furniture walls; Fig. 13 shows a schematic perspective view of furniture of Fig. 12, and Fig. 14 shows a schematic perspective view of the siphon trap with connected inlet pipes and drainage pipes. The terms such as top, bottom, left, right, front, rear, etc. relate exclusively to the exemplary illustration chosen in the respective drawings and the position of the siphon trap and other parts in the description of the drawings below. These terms shall not be understood in any limiting way, which means these references can change due to various working positions or mirror symmetrical configuration or the like. Figs. 1 to 6 show first embodiments of a siphon trap I in accordance with the invention. Such a siphon trap 1 comprises an inlet 3 which is connectable to a basin 24 either directly or via a connecting pipe section 26 (shown in Figs. 12 to 14). The basin 24 is especially arranged as a sink for installation in the piece of kitchen furniture or as a wash basin for installation in a piece of bathroom furniture. The basin 24 is especially arranged in such a way that it can be sunk completely in a top panel or worktop 25, as shown in Fig. 12 and 13. The inlet 3 is extended towards the interior of the siphon trap I and opens into a liquid reservoir 2 in which a predetermined quantity of liquid can be stored which has reached the siphon trap 1 by way of the inlet 3. The storage of this quantity of liquid is used as a water trap, as is also the case in conventional siphon traps. At least one drain 4 leads out of said liquid reservoir 2, and 2A37,1 I IHMattA PRRAO0 AU two drains 4 and 5 in the embodiment shown in the drawings, which are connectable to a drainpipe 31 (also shown in Figs. 12 to 14). The drain 4 or 5 which is respectively not used is sealed by way of a plug 36 (see Fig. 10). In contrast to conventional siphon traps in which the liquid reservoir is arranged as an S-shaped pipe section, the siphon trap I as described here is arranged in such a way that it can be attached in a compact way to a preferably perpendicular sidewall 22 of a furniture body 30, as shown in Figs. 12 and 13. Moreover, the liquid reservoir 2 is arranged in such a way that it can be cleaned in the simplest possible manner. For this purpose the liquid reservoir 2 is arranged to be closable by a removable lid 10. As is shown by way of example in Fig. 11, the lid 10 is dimensioned in such a way that it forms the circular front side of the cylindrical liquid reservoir 2. Strips 18, 19 are arranged on an inside of the lid and on a frame 6 of the siphon trap for opening and closing the lid 10, with which the lid 10 can be fixed to the frame 6 of the siphon trap I. For the purpose of opening the lid 10, the lid 10 is twisted around an axis running perpendicularly through the center of a circle of the lid surface and thereafter lifted off from the frame 6 of the siphon trap I in the direction of said rotational axis. The side of the lid 10 facing away from the fluid reservoir 2 is reinforced by cross members 14 for the purpose of stabilizing the lid 10 and for facilitating the performance of a rotational movement of the lid 10 by a user. As is further clearly shown in Figs. 6 and 9, a half pipe 17 is arranged on the inside of the lid 10, which half pipe 17 forms a full pipe adjacent to the inlet 3 together with a second half pipe 16 formed in the liquid reservoir 2. This allows access to the inlet and blockages can be removed easily. The use of chemicals or further mechanical cleaning appliances is thereby prevented. The blockage can be removed without the use of tools. The frame 6 of the siphon trap I is preferably rectangular and preferably comprises a mount 7 which is slightly offset to the inside from an outside edge of the frame 6 and which is used on the one hand for interlocking fixing of the siphon trap I in a recess in a sidewall 22 of a furniture body 30, which recess corresponds to the dimensions of the mount 7. On the other hand, a flap 9 is pivotably arranged within said mount 7, which flap covers the lid 10 in the state when folded down. In the installed state of the flap 9, the swivel axis is arranged in such a way that it extends in the region and parallel to a bottom side of the frame 6 extending horizontally. Preferably, the side walls of the flap 9 are each penetrated by a rotating nipple 15, with which the flap 9 is 2843723_1 (GHMtter) P88401.AU pivotably held on the mount 7. In order to lock the flap 9 on the mount 7, latching means 12 are provided on the side walls of the flap 9 close to the upper horizontal edge, which latching means can be latched together with respective protuberances 35 on the inside of the mount 7. In order to enable opening the flap 9, a depression 11 is formed in a first embodiment on the flap 9 on the edge of flap 9 which is opposite of the swivel axis of flap 9, which depression can be engaged by a finger of a user and can thereby allow the flap 9 to swivel downwardly. The depression is further used for guiding waste water flowing via the flap during a cleaning process of the siphon trap 1. A collecting basin 20 can be positioned during such a cleaning process beneath the opened flap 9 on a floor 21 of the furniture body 30, which collecting basin collects waste water flowing out of the liquid reservoir 2 during the opening of the lid 10. Soiling of the interior space of the furniture is thereby prevented. In an alternative embodiment for opening the flap 9', resilient ejection aids 13 are arranged within the mount 7 in the region of the upper corners as shown in Fig. 3, which ejection aids rest in the closed state of the flap 9'on an inside of the flap 9'and outwardly press the flap 9'to the outside during the subsequent release from the frame 6 of the siphon trap 1 as a result of the pressure of a user against the outside surface of the flap 9'. The user can open the flap 9'by reaching behind the flap 9'. The flap 9' fully seals the housing and thereby forms a seal against odors. Odors can originate from this area by residues from the last cleaning process. As is shown in Figs. 7, 8, 12 and 13, the siphon trap 1 is preferably fastened to one of the vertical walls 22 of a furniture body 30. The fastening occurs with the help of the frame 6 of the siphon trap 1. The frame is provided circumferentially with bores 8 as is shown in Fig. 1 for example, so that the siphon trap can be fastened to a wall 22 of the furniture body 23 by screws for example. In order to attach the siphon trap 1 in the most compact manner to one of the side walls 22 of the furniture body 30, the siphon trap 1 is preferably introduced into a recess in one of the vertical walls 22 of the furniture body 30. In addition to the screwed joints through the bores 8, the siphon trap is also held by the mount 7 which is arranged on the frame 6 and protrudes perpendicularly from the frame surface, with the outside edges of the mount 7 sitting close to the inside edges of the recess in the furniture wall 22. It is a further advantage of the arrangement that the flap 9 of the siphon trap can be folded in this way conveniently to the inside into a useful space 32 of the furniture body in order to release the I tfMMnflar\ DAA1 AUl lid 10 which is then twisted open for cleaning the siphon trap 1. In the closed state of flap 9, the flap 9 is flush with a side of the vertical wall 22 of the furniture body 30 which faces the useful space. The siphon trap I will therefore not use any useful space 32 of the furniture body 30 which is required for the storage of items. Fig. 9 especially shows the sealing grooves 37 and 38 on the half pipe 17. Seals (not shown) are inserted into the sealing grooves 37 and 38. As a result of the seals, the full pipe composed of the two half pipes 16 and 17 is sealed in a gas-tight and liquid-tight manner. The seal placed in the sealing groove 37 seals on a sealing surface 39 on the half pipe 16. A sealing cone 40 on lid 10 seals the liquid reservoir 2 together with a sealing surface 41 on the lid 10 and a sealing surface 42 on the liquid reservoir 2. As is shown in Figs. 12 and 13, the siphon trap is preferably arranged between two vertical and mutually spaced walls 22, 34 of parts of a furniture body 30 arranged adjacent to one another or behind one another with separate useful spaces 29, 32 in an intermediate space 33. The liquid reservoir 2, the inlet 3 and the at least one drain 4 of the siphon trap 1 are arranged between the two useful spaces 29, 32 of the furniture body 30 and thus do not use up any valuable useful space of the furniture. As is shown in Fig. 14, the inlet pipe 26 connected to the inlet 3 of the siphon trap can also be arranged in such a way that the waste water of several sources can run into the siphon trap. Furthermore, said inlet pipe 26 can also comprise further connections 27, 28, to which a dishwasher or a washing machine can be connected and whose waste water can be introduced by way of the connections 27, 28 into the siphon trap. Figs. 10 and 12 further show the flow of the waste water from a basin 24 by way of the inlet pipe 26 into the siphon trap I and from there into a drain pipe 31. Once the waste water has reached the siphon trap 1, it is guided from the inlet 3 through the full pipe composed of the two half pipes 16, 17 into the bottom region of the liquid reservoir 2. The waste water rises from there laterally into the liquid reservoir 2 to the top until the level of the waste water has reached the height of the drain 4 or the drains 4, 5 and flows from there further into the drain pipe 31. 2843723 I (GHMattersI P 401 AU List of reference numerals Siphon trap 1 Liquid reservoir 2 Inlet 3 Drain 4 Drain 5 Frame 6 Mount 7 Bores 8 Flap 9 Flap 9' Lid 10 Depression 11 Latching means 12 Ejection aids 13 Cross members 14 Rotating nipple 15 Half pipe 16 Half pipe 17 Strip 18 Strip 19 Collecting basin 20 Floor 21 Walls 22 Furniture body 23 Basin 24 Worktop 25 Inlet pipe 26 Connection 27 Connection 28 Useful space 29 Furniture body 30 Drain pipe 31 RAA7 I tt tr DAAAl1 All Useful space 32 Intermediate space 33 Walls 34 Protuberances 35 Plug 36 Sealing groove 37 Sealing groove 38 Sealing surface 39 Sealing cone 40 Sealing surface 41 Sealing surface 42 2843723 1 (GHMatters) P88401.AU
