Description

DRAWER, AND TOOL FOR FIRMLY CLAMPING A DRAWER BOTTOM The present invention relates to a drawer according to the preamble of claim 1 and a tool for firmly clamping a drawer bottom of a drawer according to the preamble of claim 27. The drawers in question are known in many designs. They usually consist of two side casings, a drawer bottom held by these side casings and a front panel and a rear wall, which are also usually fixed on the side casings. For holding the drawer bottom it is known from the prior art, for example, that the drawer bottom is held by horizontal webs on the casings, these horizontal webs having embossings which project into grooves of the bottom. It is also known to achieve a connection of the drawer bottom to the side casings by a downwardly pointing web of the drawer bottom, which projects into an open groove of the casing side wall. The previously described holding of the drawer bottoms on the casings is constructively complex since the drawer bottoms must be provided with grooves, holes or even webs in order to be held effectively on the casing. In addition, only bottoms of a defined thickness can be used in these designs. Also known from the prior art is a drawer structure which allows the use of bottoms of different thickness. In this -2 case, the drawer side walls have a step-shaped profile in the lower region which can serve as a support surface for drawer bottoms of various thickness. A disadvantage here is that this type of construction produces different widths of drawer bottoms. It is therefore the object of the present invention to provide a drawer and a tool which in a constructively simple manner allows the use and installation of drawer bottoms of various thickness without additional after processing of the drawer bottom or the drawer casing holding said drawer bottom. This object is achieve by a drawer having the features of claim 1 and a tool having the features of claim 27. Further features of the invention are the subject matter of the dependent claims. The invention is based quite generally on the idea of configuring the construction of the drawer casings and the drawer bottoms such that drawer bottoms of different thickness can be assembled in the simplest manner. To this end, fastening means are provided according to the invention which are configured as clamping means having a variable clamping distance, which cooperate with a nose projecting towards the centre of the drawer from the side walls of the drawer casings facing the centre of the drawer and by which means drawer bottoms of different thickness can be fixed.
-3 The fastening means can preferably be latched with one end on the drawer casing or the connecting element and at the other end have retaining means for the detachable retaining of the drawer bottom on the fastening means. The latching portion is latched with the aid of latching lugs projecting from the latching portion, which can be engaged in the guide clips of the drawer casings or the connecting elements. It is thereby achieved that the configuration of the drawer casings is independent of the thickness or the material of the drawer bottom to be assembled. According to a particular embodiment, the latching portion of the fastening means has a plurality of adjacent latching lugs which in a particularly preferred embodiment are configured to be of different lengths. It is thereby possible for the latching legs to be latched in different insertion positions on the drawer casing or the connecting element. By this means drawer bottoms of different thickness can be securely fixed in the drawer casing with the aid of the fastening means. According to a further preferred embodiment, on its latching portion the fastening means comprises a plurality of latching legs which are arranged in an offset manner to one another and thereby form an insertion gap for insertion of an edge of the drawer casing or the connecting element so that the fastening means is slid over an edge of the drawer casing or the connecting element and the fastening means can latch by means of the latching lugs projecting from the legs in a corresponding hole pattern in the drawer casing or the connecting element. If the latching lugs on the respective legs are attached to the leg at different -4 heights, a latching of the fastening means in different insertion positions is thereby also ensured here. By configuring the retaining means for the detachable retaining of the drawer bottom as a profile aligned obliquely in the direction of a bottom side the drawer bottom, a simple retaining of the drawer bottom on the fastening means is ensured without needing to incorporate grooves or holes in the drawer bottom. According to a further preferred embodiment, the retaining means for the detachable retaining of the drawer bottom is configured as a pin which engages in a dowel having an opening provided in a receiving cone. This enables a simple retaining of drawer bottoms equipped with a dowel for the retaining of the same. With the tool according to the invention for firmly clamping a drawer bottom of a drawer according to one or more of claims 15 to 20, drawer bottoms of different thickness can be installed in a simple manner. In this case the drawer bottom is slid between the drawer casings. Deformable elements, preferably rolls or issued tabs, are formed with suitable tools, and clamp the drawer bottom between the drawer casings. According to two further preferred embodiments, the fastening means is developed as part of the drawer casing or the connecting element. In this case, the vertical web has recesses which serve as fixing and/or support elements. The retaining means for the detachable retaining of the drawer bottom is configured as a profile. In one of these -5 embodiments, the recesses project in the direction of the drawer bottom and are not further deformed. During assembly the drawer casings are supplied to the drawer bottom whereby in the case of thin drawer bottoms, the recesses bring about a support and fixing of the drawer bottom. In the case of thick drawer bottoms, the recesses serve to fix the drawer bottom. The profile is then raised with manual or automatic tools. In this case the profile in conjunction with an angle region serves as a support for thick bottoms. In the case of thin bottoms the profiles together with the recesses form supports for the drawer bottoms. The appended drawings show exemplary embodiments of the invention which are described in detail hereinafter. Figures 1 and 2 show a drawer bottom 4 which is held between two drawer casings 2, 3 with the aid of fastening means 6. The rear wall 5 is additionally shown in Figure 2. In this exemplary embodiment the drawer casings consist of u-shaped hollow profiles in which a plurality of connecting elements 28 are inserted for connecting the drawer casings 2, 3 to a withdrawal apparatus, not shown and further described here, for withdrawing the drawer from a furniture body. Provided on these connecting means 28 at the lower edge are guide clips 7 into which the fastening means 6 engage, which are used to hold a drawer bottom 4. Figure 3 again shows a partial view of the drawer shown in Figure 1 with a first embodiment of the fastening means 6 which is discussed in detail hereinafter. Figures 4 to 7 show a first embodiment of the fastening means 6 and the attachment thereof to a drawer casing 2, 3. In the first variant of the fastening means 6, this consists of a flat latching leg 10 from which a plurality of latching lugs 8 of the same length protrude. Towards the bottom the latching leg region of the fastening means 6 is - 11 adjoined by an angle region 11 so that the fastening means 6 is bent. in side profile, possibly in the form of an L as shown in the diagram in Figure 4B. At the free end of the angle region 11 facing away from the latching leg, the angle region 11 is provided with a profile 9 which presses against the drawer bottom 4 and digs into the drawer bottom 4. A nose 37 projecting from the drawer casing presses against the top side of the edge of the drawer bottom 4. A secure fixing of the same is thus ensured. Figure 5 shows a second embodiment of the fastening means 6 in which the latching lugs 8 of the latching leg 10 are configured to be of different length. This has the result that when latching the fastening means 6 on a guide clip 7 on the drawer casing 2, 3 or the connecting means 28, the fastening means 6 can be latched at different insertion depths and the angle region 11 can thereby be adjusted for drawer bottoms 4 of different thickness. It is also feasible that the edge of the guide clip 7 on which latching lugs 8 are supported are configured to be round in the insertion direction of the latching leg 10, for example. As a result, fastening means 6 having latching lugs 8 configured to be of the same length can also be latched in different insertion depths and can therefore be used for drawer bottoms 4 of different thickness. The angle region 11 of the fastening means is particularly preferably configured so that two legs of the profile 9 extend obliquely upwards towards the underside of the drawer bottom and a flat support surface 12 running parallel to the drawer bottom underside is located in between to provide a firm support surface for the drawer - 12 bottom 4 and prevent flexing of the drawer bottom 4 as a result of the profile 9. The profile 9 exerts a force on the drawer bottom 4 in the direction of the nose 37 to fix the drawer bottom 4 [9 in German]. Figures 6 and 7 show a perspective or a side view of the fastening means 6 shown in Figures 4 and S in the state latched on a drawer casing 2, 3 or connecting means 28. In the diagram in Figure 7 it is shown that with these fastening means 6 drawer bottoms 4 of different thickness can be attached to the drawer casings 2, 3. In this case the bottom thickness A in Figure 7A is smaller than that of the lower bottom thickness B in Figure 7B. It can be seen that in the diagram in Figure 7B the fastening means 6 is latched at a lower engaging depth. It can be clearly seen that in Figure 7B the fastening means 6 are latched on a short latching lug 8 and in Figure 7A on a longer latching lug 8. Figure 8 to 12 show a further embodiment of the fastening means 6. The latching region of the fastening means 6 here consists of three latching legs, wherein the outer webs 13 of the three legs are bent to one side and the inner web 14 is bent to the other side and thereby form an insertion gap 30 into which the lower edge of the connecting element 28 can be inserted. The latching lugs 15, 16 projecting from the outer webs 13 and the inner web 14 project in the direction of the insertion gap 30. In this case the latching lugs 15 of the outer webs 13 are attached at a different height from the latching lug 16 on the inner web 14.
- 13 Accordingly, as can be seen in Figures 11 and 12, a plurality of recesses 17 are provided on the connecting element 28 in the vicinity of the lower edge, which are arranged at different heights corresponding to the latching lugs 15, 16 of the fastening means 6 and thereby also ensure that the fastening means 6 can be latched at different: insertion depths. In the embodiment shown in Figures 13 to 15, the latching lugs 18, 19 are arranged at the same height on the outer webs 13 and the inner web 14. Accordingly, the connecting elements 28 are provided with a hole pattern at the lower edge, consisting of a first hole row 20 and a second hole row 21 so that when sliding the fastening means 6 onto the edge of the connecting element 28, engagement at different heights is rendered possible by the provision of these hole rows 20, 21. According to the embodiment shown in Figures 16 to 18, instead of the profile 9 a pin 22 is provided at one end of the fastening means 6 which can be received in a receiving cone 24 of a dowel 23, the dowel 23 being let in a dowel hole 25 of a drawer bottom 4. According to the embodiment of the fastening means 6 shown in Figures 19 to 22, this is bent further in its angle region SO that the fastening means 6, when viewed in side profile, is configured in a U-shape. Preferably a flat support surface 12 is formed centrally in the angle region. As a result, drawer bottoms 4 having angled side edges can be securely received, the ends of the side edges projecting - 14 into the U of the fastening means 6, resting on the support surface 12 and being securely fixed by the spring tab 26. Instead of the one-part latching leg 27 shown in Figure 19, a division of this latching leg into two separate latching legs 27 is also feasible. According to the embodiments shown in Figures 23 to 30 the fastening means is formed in one piece with the drawer casings 2, 3. To this end the fastening means 6 is formed as a clamping web 29 which is formed on a lower edge of the drawer casing 2, 3. This clamping web 39 at least partially embraces a side edge of the drawer bottom 4, as shown in Figures :25 to 28. The lower edge of the drawer casing 2, 3 is configured as a web 34 which is aligned parallel to the underside of the drawer bottom 4 and can be rolled up for clamping the drawer bottom 4. This web 34 is preferably configured in the form of adjacent tongues 35 which are slitted from the casing edge towards the clamping web 29. As a result of this slitting of the edge of the drawer casing 2, 3 into individual tongues 35 it is achieved that the force to be applied for shaping the casing edge is kept small. Embossings 33 are preferably formed on the surface of the web 34 or the individual tongues 35, which are suitable for fixing the drawer bottom 4, in particular for digging into this. These embossings 33 preferably run parallel or perpendicular to the longitudinal extension of the tongues 35 or the web 34. In the embodiment in which the embossings 33 run parallel or perpendicular to the longitudinal extension of the tongues 35 or the web 34, the fixing acts particularly favourably in the direction of alignment of the drawer.
- 15 Figures 23 to 26 further show a tool for firmly clamping a drawer bottom 4 of a drawer, comprising a die 32 and a roll slider 31. Only one die 32 but differently configured roll sliders 31 are required to roll up the tongues 35 or the web 34 for drawer bottoms 4 of different thickness. The roll sliders 31 differ by a radial contour 36 adapted to the thickness of the drawer bottom 4 to be firmly clamped in order to roll up the web 34 or the tongues 35 with corresponding radius and thereby firmly clamping the drawer bottom 4 between the clamping roll 39 thus formed and the nose 37 located further upwards on the drawer casing 2, 3. During the assembly process the die 32 serves as a counter holder whilst the roll slider 31 moves in the direction of the die 32 and with its radial contour 36 forms the tongues 35 or the web 34 of the casings 2, 3 to the clamping rolls 39. For the embossings 33 formed according to one embodiment on the web 34 or the tongues 35, the roll slider 31 is formed with a recess 38 corresponding to the depth of these embossings 33 on its surface facing the web 34 or the tongues 35 so that the embossings 33 are not damaged on the horizontal web 34 or the tongues 35 of the casing 2, 3. According to a further embodiment shown in Figures 38 to 43, tongues 47, 48 aligned parallel to the underside of the drawer bottom 4 and capable of being rolled up for clamping the drawer bottom 4 are formed on the clamping web 29. As can be seen particularly well in Figures 39, 40, 42 and 43, these tongues 47, 48 can be rolled up to clamping tongues of variable diameter D1, D2 so that drawer bottoms 4 of different thickness A, B can be clamped with these. In the embodiment shown here one of the tongues 47 is provided - 16 with a claw 49 which in the rolled up state of the tongue 47 projects from the tongue surface and thus fixes the drawer bottom 4, in particular digs into the drawer bottom 4 with the claw tips of the claw 49. A second tongue 48 is provided with a tab 50 which in the rolled up state of the tongue 48 also projects from the tongue surface, nestles against the drawer bottom 4 and thus fixes this. In particular, this tab 50 is provided with a perforation 51 through which fastening means, for example, screws can be inserted and screwed into the drawer bottom 4 and thus fixes the drawer bottom 4 in addition to the clamping effected by the rolled up tongue 48. Figures 44 to 46 show a tool 60 for firmly clamping the drawer bottom with the aid of the clamping tongues 47, 48 shown in Figures 38 to 43. This tool 60 is in particular designed in the form of hand-operated pliers, where a roll slider 57, 57' having a radial contour 59, 59' adapted to the thickness of the drawer bottom 4 to be firmly clamped is provided on a head part of the pliers. The roll slider 57, 57' is arranged removably on the head part of the pliers 60 for adaptation to drawer bottoms 4 of different thickness to be firmly clamped, so that drawer bottoms 4 of different thickness can be firmly clamped, in which case only the roll sliders 57, 57' need be accordingly exchanged for adaptation to the different thicknesses A, B of the drawer bottoms 4. In this tool 60 also only one die 58 is required which serves as a counter holder to the roll slider 57, 57' during the assembly process, where the roll slider 57, 57' is moved in the direction of the die 58 upon actuation of the plier levers 54, 55 and the radial contour - 17 59, 59' of the roll slider 57, 57' forms the tongues 47, 48 into clamping tongues. According to the embodiment shown in Figures 31 to 34, the fastening means is formed in one piece with the connecting elements 28. A profile 43 is formed at the end of the angle region 11, which presses from below against the drawer bottom 4 and digs into this. A clamping region 46 projecting from the connecting element 28 presses against the upper side of the edge of the drawer bottom 4. The web 42 formed on the connecting element 28 is provided with projections 40, 41. Figure 33 shows the application case for a thick drawer bottom, the lower edge region whereof rests on the angle region 11 and the profile 43. The projections 40, 41 penetrate laterally into the drawer bottom and effect a fixing in the direction of withdrawal of the drawer. As shown in Figure 34, in the case of a thin drawer bottom the projections 40 serve as a support for its lower region. The profile 43 as well as the projection 41 penetrate into the drawer bottom and effect a fixing in the direction of withdrawal of the drawer. In the embodiment shown in Figures 35 to 37, as in the aforesaid embodiment, the fastening means is formed in one piece with the connecting elements 28. The fastening means, as shown in Figure 35, comprises profiles 43, a clamping surface 46 and projections 44, 45. Figures 36A to C show the assembly of a thin drawer bottom. The drawer bottom 4 is slid onto the web 42. The profiles 43 are raised, dig into the underside of the drawer bottom 4 and press the top side thereof against the clamping surface 46. The projections 44, 45 are moved in the direction of the drawer - 18 bottom 4. The projections 44 penetrate into the drawer bottom 4 whilst the projections 45 serve as supports for the same. During the assembly of a thick drawer bottom 4, the projections 44, 45 penetrate into the same and the underside of the drawer bottom 4 rests on the angle region 11 and the profiles. This is shown in Figures 37A to C. All the embodiments of the fastening means shown in the preceding figures are also feasible in combinations of the latching leg formations or angle region and profile formations other than those shown here. The fastening means described above enable drawer bottoms of different thickness to be assembled without these bottoms needing to be processed beforehand in additional work steps. Both wood and plastic bottoms of different thickness and also sheet metal drawer bottoms having bent side edges can be used. Drawer bottoms having two cover layers and spacing fabrics such as are known as honeycomb or sandwich bottoms can also be secured to the drawer casings with these fastening means.
