Abstract
The invention relates to an installation box, in particular a distribution box, for surface wiring, equipped with a bearing base (1 ) and a cover (2) that comprises a front wall (3) and lateral walls (4,5,6,13) and that can be placed on the bearing base (1). According to the invention, a wall protrudes from the bearing base on an edge side of the bearing base, said wall comprising weak points for the formation of completely closed openings in the wall and the relevant lateral wall (13) of the cover (2) is provided with at least one edge recess (11) on a free end, said edge recess releasing the openings.
Description
WO 2009/097844 PCT/DE2009/000165 Description: "Installation box, in particular distribution box for surface wiring" 5 The invention relates to an installation box, in particular a distribution box, for surface wiring, having a support base and a cover which has a front wall and side walls and can be fitted on the support 10 base. Installation boxes of this kind are known through use. Opposing side walls of the cover have weak points for forming edge recesses through which cable ducts which 15 are open at one end in the direction of the wall can be laid. When round cable conduits are laid as protective sheaths, an opening which remains in the box cannot be avoided because it has to be possible to laterally withdraw the conduit in question from the edge recess 20 when the cover is removed. The invention is based on the object of providing a new installation box, in particular distribution box, of the type mentioned in the introduction which can be 25 used universally. According to the invention, the installation box which solves this problem is characterized in that one wall projects from the support base on an edge side of the 30 support base, in that the wall has weak points for forming completely closed openings in the wall, and in that the relevant side wall of the cover is provided with an edge cutout, which exposes at least the openings, at the free edge. 35 By way of example, round protective conduits for cables laid therein can advantageously be inserted into the box. As a result, no openings remain in the box. The ability to detach the cover from the support base is WO 2009/097844 - 2 - PCT/DE2009/000165 ensured by said edge cutout in the side wall of the cover. In an advantageous refinement of the invention, the 5 side wall of the cover, which side wall is situated opposite the side wall which has the edge cutout, has weak points for forming edge cutouts at the free edge. Therefore, the installation box can be used in equal measure both in connection with cable ducts and also in 10 connection with conduits, in particular when, according to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the support base is formed symmetrically in relation to a center plane of the support plate, in particular a horizontal center plane. Depending on whether conduits 15 or cable ducts are to be laid, one or the other side wall of the installation box is then used as the inlet side for the conduits or cable ducts. The wall can also have at least one weak point for 20 forming a recess for the insertion of a cable duct. The projecting wall engages expediently between a remaining end section of the side wall in question and clamping lugs which are integrally formed on this end 25 section, and therefore the box interior is closed in a stable manner. Instead of the clamping lugs, a groove which is formed on the edge cutout could also be provided, a, for example weakened, edge web of the wall which projects from the support base engaging in said 30 groove. Weak points for forming round holes are expediently provided on the projecting wall. Weak points for openings with different diameters are preferably nested 35 one in the other, with, in particular, the nested weak points being tangential to one another at a point which is closest to the support base. This ensures that, when passage openings with different diameters are formed, WO 2009/097844 - 3 - PCT/DE2009/000165 the passage opening is always at the same distance from the surface of the support base, that is to say cables which are routed through can always be inserted into the box close to the base and can be fastened on said 5 base by cable connectors. The invention will be explained further below with reference to an exemplary embodiment and the appended drawings which refer to this exemplary embodiment and 10 in which: fig. 1 shows a perspective exploded illustration of a surface-mounted distribution box according to the invention, 15 fig. 2 shows a perspective illustration of a support base of the distribution box from fig. 1, fig. 3 shows a perspective view, obliquely from 20 below, of a cover of the surface-mounted distribution box from fig. 1, and fig. 4 shows a perspective view of a longitudinal section through the distribution box from 25 fig. 1. A surface-mounted distribution box has a support base 1 and a cover 2 which can be fitted on the support base 1 and has a front wall 3 and side walls 4 to 6. Two top 30 hat rails 7 for receiving devices are mounted on the support base 1. Switches which are provided on the devices are accessible through openings 8 in the front wall 3. 35 A wall 9 in which round weak points 10 for forming passage openings for conduits are provided extends from the support base at an edge side of the support base 1.
WO 2009/097844 - 4 - PCT/DE2009/000165 A weak point at 20 allows an opening for a cable duct to be created. The cover 2 has an edge cutout 11 for accommodating the 5 wall 9, with a weakened edge web 12 projecting from the wall 9, it being possible for said edge web to be clamped in between a remaining section 13 of the fourth side wall of the cover 2 and three clamping lugs 14 which are integrally formed on said section. 10 The cover 2 can be fastened to the support base 1 with the aid of four screws 15, it being possible for the screws to be screwed into threaded sleeves 16 which project from the support base. The cover 2 is seated, 15 by way of projecting sleeves 19, on the threaded sleeves 16. The side wall 5 of the cover 2 which is situated opposite the side wall with the edge recess 11 is 20 provided with weak points 17 for forming edge recesses. A row of retaining webs 18 to which cable connectors can be fastened is formed immediately adjacent to the wall 9 on the support base 1. A similar row of 25 retaining webs is located at the opposite end of the support base. Cables both in conduits and also cable ducts which are open at one end can be fed to the above-described 30 surface-mounted distribution box as protective sheaths. If conduits for fed cables are prescribed, the box side with the projecting wall 9 is used as the inlet side and a suitable weak point for forming a round conduit 35 passage opening is selected, depending on the conduit diameter.
WO 2009/097844 - 5 - PCT/DE2009/000165 If the cables are to be fed in a cable duct, the distribution box which is formed largely symmetrically in relation to a horizontal center plane is used with a reverse arrangement, and a suitable edge recess for 5 conducting the cable duct which is open toward the wall is formed in the side wall 5 of the cover 2.
