Description

APPLICANT TRISTAN GUY CAMPBELL COMPLETE SPECIFICATION EFFICIENT PAINT BRUSH CLEANER The invention is described in the foHowing statement Page 1 FIELD OF INVENTION The following relates to an innovative step/device/invention that enables the cleaning of a paint brush. Generally to clean a used paint brush the brush is held under the water flow produced by a running tap. Tap water, however, does not have by itself the ability/pressure to penetrate the overlapped layers of brush bristles, in turn making paint removal from within the brush bristles most difficult, time consuming, and not providing efficient use of water. Furthermore, the failure to remove paint from within the overlapped bristles subsatntially reduces the effective life of the brush. OBJECT OF INVENTION It is the object of the invention/device/innovative step to overcome or substantially reduce the above disadvantages.
Page 2. DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION There is herein disclosed an invention/device/innovative step for efficiently cleaning a paint brush, said device comprising: A casing, said casing having the ability to jet/spray water upon a paint brush's bristles when attached/connected to a hose or tap. Preferably said casing would have contained internally within multiple/numerous jets/small holes that enable water to be sprayed upon said paint brush bristles, with a greater pressure than that produced by a normal unassisted garden tap or hose. Preferably said casing would have contained internally within multiple/numerous jets/small holes that enable water from a garden tap or hose to be sprayed upon paint brush bristles with a greater pressure than that produced by a normal unassisted tap pr hose. Preferably said casing would be self supportable upon a garden water tap. The following discloses an alternate form of the preferred form of the invention A vessel, said vessel having the means to support/affix a lid said lid having the ability to support/affix/suspend/secure a paint brush within said vessel. Said vessel would have the ability to jet/spray water upon said paint brush bristles when attached/ {9:ed to a garden. tap or hose. Preferably, said vessel would have contained internally within, multiple/numerous small holes/jets. Preferably, said vessel would have a means to keep the level of waste water ( water produced after being expelled by jets) below said jets, preventing the waste water from impeding the water flow from said jets to said paint brush. Preferably, said vessel's means of keeping said waste water level below jetted water would be in the form of a tap/valve located below the height of said jets in said vessel, enabling said waste water to leave said vessel when open and the soaking of said brush when closed. Preferably said lid would have an insert that has a degree of flexibility, enabling the supporting of said paint brush by paint brush handle and in turn sealinwater in around said paint brush handle. Preferably, said insert would consist of a rubber or the like, enabling different size paint brushes/brands to be cleaned. DEFINITION As used herein the term 'jets' is intended to encompass any device that enables water from a hose or tap to flow to/upon a paint brush via the utilisation of multiple/numerous holes being of smalbr diameter of a water hose or atp.
Page 3. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS Io assist in understanding the invention/innovative step/device reference will now be made to the accompanying drawings: FIG 1. illustrates a preferred form of the invention showing the components of the invention. [t can be seen that the device consists of a casing/shroud (1) which has jets/holes(2) located on the inside where the brush is inserted. Casing(l) has water connection(3) that engages/screws onto a garden tap. FIG 2. illustrates an xray view to enable an understanding of the principle of operation of the device [t can be seen that casing(l) has water connection(3) attached and multiple jets/holes(2) located upon the inside of casing(1). Paint brush handle(5) is held in turn suspending paint brush bristles(4) between the multiple jets, and it can be further seen that water from the tap is supplied via water zonnection(3) to void within casing(l) to multiple jets(2). FIG 3. illustrates an alternative form to the preferred embodiment. [t can be seen that vessel(l) has jets(2), water inlet connection(3), waste water outlet tap(6), lid(7) and rubber insert(8). FIG 4 illustrates an xray view of the inner working of alternate form of FIG 3. It can be seen that vessel(l) has water inlet(3) that allows water to pass through jets(2) located on inside of vessel(l), to brush bristles(4). Furthermore, it can be seen that vessel(l) engages lid(6) which has rubber insert(7) that supports brush handle(5), vessel(1) also has waste water outlet and lp (8) that keeps waste water level(9) below jets(2). It should be appreciated that modifications and alterations obvious to those skilled in the art are not considered as beyond the scope of the present invention. For example, the alternative form shown does not necessarily require a lid to work successfully.
