Description

O
Road Regenerator ;Our Innovation Invention consists of the adaptation of a previous innovation patent completed by our company in 2005 (patent number 2005100719).
The previous patent (identified above) consisted of a row of rubber tyred wheels and a grid roller mounted onto a motor scraper to create a versatile cost saving earthmoving machine.
In the earthmoving industry it is necessary to continually look for ways to cut costs to stay competitive. This has led us to alter and improve our Scraper Pneumatic Grid Roller and hence the need for a new innovation patent application.
ODuring road reconstruction a grader (see Figure 1) can be used alongside a roller (see OFigure 2) to reshape and re-compact down road materials. The grader consists of 00 Srippers to tear up the road (see Figure 3) and a blade to reshape the road (see Figure S4). The roller follows, compacting the top finer particle layers on the road. To save time during road construction/reconstruction we have mounted a set of rippers on our scraper pneumatic grid roller to create a Road Regenerator.
Our innovation Invention consists of Mounting a single row of tyred wheels attached to a steel frame onto a motor scraper which has the grid roller set up on it, as our current patent (id 2005100719) does.
For this new patent application a row of rippers has been fitted to the scraper as well.
The rippers have been attached to a frame and can be lowered hydraulically up or down by a single or combination of hydraulic rams.
Electronic sensors have been installed on the pneumatic tyre and ripper raising assembles to detect whether the implements are raised or lowered. This feature has been incorporated into the design so the operator doesn't try to turn the machine around while the implements are still in the ground. If the rippers or pneumatic tyres are down whilst the machine is turning than there is risk that they may be turn off causing damage to the machine This Innovation Invention effectively cuts the need for three separate machines in some cases during road construction/reconstruction. This reduces time and hence cost by needing only one construction worker to operate the single machine, and in some instances only one machine to be transported to the construction site.
00 Technical Specifications Ripper set up -A row of metal rippers are attached to a frame.
-The frame that holds the rippers is attached to the scraper bowl by pinned hinges.
O -The mechanism that lifts and lowers the frame is a hydraulic ram controlled in the Cc Scraper cab by the plant operator.
-A sensor has also been fitted to the scraper bowl to detect weather the frame has been Ci Raised or lowered when the plant operator attempts to turn the machine around when O working.
\O
Pneumatic tyre set up 00 -As in our Scraper Pneumatic Grid Roller patent (id 2005100719) a single row of wheels attached to axles from a multi tyre roller or equilivant is obtained.
N, -The axles are attached to a suspension system which is welded to a steel frame.
-The frame that houses the wheels is attached to the scraper frame by pinned hinges.
-The mechanism that lifts and lowers the frame is a hydraulic ram controlled in the scraper cab by the plant operator.
-Our current Road Regenerator has rippers in the space where our previous Scraper Pneumatic Grid Roller had multi tyres placed. Therefore, our current version has the tyres placed in between the scraper's rear wheels.
This specification can be better understood with reference to the diagrams presented in Figure 5 and Details A-D.
