Description

Description BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Many forms of glove constructions have existed over the years .The manufacturing and assembly process of glove constructions was complicated and that thumb constructions for the same pair of gloves were not interchangeable, that is a thumb construction of a right-hand glove could not be used with a left-hand glove, therefore the requirement to purchase in pairs. Generally gloves are purchased in pairs.
Another fact is that when work gloves are used in the construction industry, it is generally the "preferred hand" glove that is worn first and often replaced individually, discarding the un-worn opposite hand glove.
Furthermore, it is a fact that, in general day to day use at and around the hom,e pairing of gloves at times is a nuisance.
It is therefore an object of my invention to provide for a single glove with two thumbs that can be used on any hand at anytime of their life cycle. The two thumbs are initially held down with Velcro as well as stitching. The thumbs can be released individually, in the case of replacing a single worn glove, or as a pair, releasing the appropriate thumb on the individual glove.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Generally my invention comprises making a glove from various types of material with two thumbs; the two thumbs are folded back and held in position out of the way by Velcro strips. The thumbs are also stitched to the parent glove to prevent dislodgement from friction; the stitching is easily released by pulling on the threads.
Resetting of the unwanted/unused thumb can be achieved by pressing back onto the Velcro strips.
The Velcro strip on the thumb can also be easily discarded by pulling on the threads; however resetting cannot be achieved once thumb Velcro is discarded.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS FIG. 1 is a 2D view of a glove constructed according to the invention, in this case a left-hand glove, with spare thumb held down.
FIG. 2 is a plan view of a glove constructed according to the invention, in this case a left-hand glove, with spare thumb held down.
FIG. 3 is exploded, un-scaled view of the glove section held down by the Velcro strip and stitching.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Referring to FIG. 1 there is illustrated a 2D view of glove 1 thumb enclosures held down by 2 stitching and 3 Velcro having, 4 a flexible section with slit below.
Referring to FIG. 3 there is illustrated a plan view of glove 1 thumb enclosures held down by 2 stitching and 3 Velcro having, 4 a flexible section with slit below.
Referring to FIG. 4 there is illustrated a plan view of glove 1 thumb enclosures held down by 2 and 3 quick release stitching and 4 Velcro having, 5 the upper section of Velcro attached by 6 quick release stitching. The stitching 2 and 3 are released by pulling 7 and 8 pick strings. The glove section below the thumb 9 has 10 the bottom half of the Velcro section either glued or stitched to it. The 1 thumb enclosures, has a 11 penetration into the glove, and secured at 12 by stitching at that point.
A glove constructed according to my invention is applicable for use with sporting gloves, dress gloves or work gloves, it being apparent that the particular thumb construction combined with the Velcro and stitching is adaptable for use with many different kinds of gloves.
