Description

PATENTS ACT 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION INNOVATION PATENT THREE STAGE VALVES The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me: THREE STAGE VALVES This invention relates to improvements in a design for ash removals and prevention of gas leak. This invention applies to ash silos and other similar applications.
The function of silos is generally to temporarily collect/contain ash from boiler operation and to distribute it to trucks for disposal. These silos would normally also contain gases from the process, which is to be kept contained until it is being loaded to trucks. The gas only to be released after it is going through a stringent process of filtering all the unwanted gases. It is not sufficient to use one valve to open and close the opening to stop the gases from coming out of the silos.
These problems are overcome by the present invention, which provides a three stages valves combination comprising three valves, which connected to the main computer to control the ash flow from the hopper.
To assist with understanding the invention, refer to the accompanying drawings, which show one example of the invention.
FIG. 1 shows one example of the three stages valve design comprising a steel tube 1 as a silo opening with three computer operated valves 2 according to this invention.
The valves are located at certain distances from each other to allow for efficient transfer of ash from one chamber to the other.
FIG. 2 shows the application of such a three stage valve design on an ash silo as follows: 1. Silo with all valves closed 2. Valve 1 is opened to let the ash flow to valve 2 3. Valve 1 is closed 4. Valve 2 is opened to allow the ash to move to the second chamber 5. Valve 2 is closed to prevent any gas leak 6. Valve 1 and 3 are opened to allow ash to fill the first chamber and to allow ash from the second chamber to fill the waiting truck for disposal or further process 7. Valve 1 and 3 are closed as per step 3 8. Then the cycle is repeated to step 4 and so on These steps can be repeated several times until the truck is fully loaded.
Claims (3)
1. A three stage valve design comprising three valves on an ash silo opening. Each valve is automatically programmed and operated to work effectively to allow ash to flow through in a controlled manner from the silo to the trucks.
2. This design will prevent a large amount of gases from boiler process to leak to the atmosphere
3. This invention will allow a cleaner loading of ash to trucks due to segregation 10 of silo pressure by the operation of the first valve GREEN PACIFIC ENERGY LIMITED 7 June 2004
