Abstract
Air is drawn into the system by a fan (2) and passed through an evaporator (4) cooled by a compressor (3) and expansion valve (6) and then heated by the condenser (5) before returning to the room. Temperature and moisture sensors are in the inlet and outlet ducts. A bypass (7) to the evaporator is controlled by a flap (10) and the sensor outputs to direct only the optimum amount of air through the evaporator and a further heat exchanger (15) is used to heat water for the building.
