Abstract
The invention relates to a method for the mass-production of optical elements by introducing individual, diffractive optical information into materials that can be embossed. According to said method, parts of a diffractive surface relief, which is present on a transportable film, are embossed thermally onto the material that can be embossed using individually controlled surfaces of an embossing head. After each image unit has been embossed, the film and the material that can be embossed are separated and transported onwards, to allow a further embossing operation using a modified embossing surface combination, which reproduces new information.
