Abstract

A needleless injection unit comprises cannula (5) which can be inserted into a housing (3) which can be filled with the material to be ignited. The cannula contains a piston (9) and a propellant charge cartridge (7) can be inserted into the housing. A propelling surface (15) is located in the housing, and can be moved using the gas pressure produced by detonation of the charge, from an initial to a final position. The surface sweeps the piston.
