Abstract

Continuous casting mold comprises a copper plate (2a) fitting the progress of the casting cross-section for a profiled casting cross-section (1a) with holes (9) for coolant in the casting direction (10) and collection holes (6a, 7a) opening out into two separate channel-like water tanks (3) made of high grade steel. The water tanks are placed directly on the copper plates. Preferred Features: The profile cross-section of the copper plate is fitted to a pre-profile casting strand and forms a dog-bone profile. The water tanks consist of two channel housings (13) connected laterally together using a support plate made of normal steel.
