Abstract
A refractory composition having a filler consisting of refractory particles embedded in a binding phase which contains at least one mixed refractory oxide of two or more different metals, with the binder having a lower melting point than the refractory filler. The composition is preferably obtained firstly by forming refractory oxides in a ratio such that a thermodynamically stable mixed oxide can thereafter be obtained from these nascent oxides.
