Abstract
The invention relates to a fire-extinguishing system (1) comprising at least one means (2) for the projection of fire-extinguishing agent (3), which means can be directed towards a fire using an adjustment drive linked to control means (9). To achieve non-contact telemetering of the distances to measurement points (12) within a monitored area (11) and the respective temperatures thereof, the fire-extinguishing system (1) has telemetering means (10) which is linked to control means (9) for automatic alignment of the projecting means (2) with a measurement point (12) detected to be the scene of the fire. To detect the scene of the fire, in the control means (9) there is a comparison of at least the temperature readings with at least one reference value typical of fires. Should a fire be detected, the control means (9) determines at least one theoretical value for setting the projecting means (2) and adjusts the projecting means (2) thereto. Said device allows the fully automatic positioning of the projecting means (2), which consequently makes it easier for fire-fighters to carry out their duties.
