Abstract

A device to support covering plates of stone or similar material hanging in front of the external face of a facade and each having, on two opposite edge faces, receiving grooves (30) for holding webs (26) is described. The holding webs (26) are provided on carrying profiles (16) which are attached, extending horizontally, to mullions or transoms of a facade structure. In this arrangement, the holding webs (26) are supported, free of constraint throughout, at their sides in the receiving grooves (30). Each carrying profile (16) is connected, in its end regions, in each case to a bearing pivot (44) of a bearing profile (40, 46), which pivot is arranged perpendicularly to the holding webs (26) of the carrying profile (16) parallel to their common plane. A bearing pivot (44, 64) is in this case additionally as a moveable bearing transversely displaceable towards the other bearing pivot (44).
