Abstract
A burner, especially a forced-draught burner, for boilers, incineration plants or the like is proposed which is provided with an air feed device, a fuel feed device (15) for injecting a liquid or gaseous fuel, a flame device (14) extending into a combustion chamber (11) and producing the burner flame (18) and a flue gas recirculation channel (20) which recirculates some of the flue gases produced during the incineration to the air feed device. Provided in the boiler-side connection region of the flue gas recirculation channel (20) is a converter element (21) which converts solid particles into gaseous constituents and is preferably composed of a porous ceramic material. As a result of the position of the converter element (21) it is heated by the hot flue gases to a temperature of 400-600 DEG C, with the result that the soot and dust particles in the flue gas are burnt and are carried off as gaseous constituents. This prevents contamination of the burner (13), accompanied by maintenance-free operation of the converter element (21). <IMAGE>
