Abstract
Method of pouring a metal, in particular steel, from a casting ladle (24) into a tundish (1) or the like by means of a choking slide gate nozzle or stopper end, by which the ferrostatic height of the metal in the tundish (1) is regulated to match a set withdrawal speed of the cast strand. The regulation takes place here with a so-called tendency recognition, i.e. taking into consideration the change of the amount of metal in the tundish (1). Furthermore, with each reversal of correcting variable or motion at the casting ladle closure an error value (alpha) resulting from the system tolerances is added to the correcting variable (Y). The method is also applicable in the case of nozzle closures of tundishes (1), and to be precise in relation to the bath level in the mould (28).
