Abstract

1. A lacquer emulsion for treating image-vise exposed lithographic printing plates, said emulsion containing a) water, b) an organic solvent being not or only to a small extent miscible with water, c) a hydrophilic polymer being soluble or dispersible in water, d) a fine grain filler, e) a surfactant, and f) a film-forming oleophilic water-insoluble polymer being soluble in the organic solvent, characterized in that the organic solvent is a high-boiling monovalent arylkanol or aryloxyalkanol and the lacquer emulsion comprises - based on the total of all components - 4 to 20 percent by weight of component b), 0.05 to 25 percent by weight of component c) 5 to 35 percent by weight of component d), 0.02 to 1.0 percent by weight of component e), and 2 to 8 percent by weight of component f).
