Abstract

A pipe connection piece (1) has at one end (6) an inwardly projecting flange (4). To the side of the flange (4) facing the other end (2) of the pipe connection piece (1), a cover (8) is screwed (screws 23). In order that deformation of the flange (4) on loading of the cover (8) is kept small, and is distributed uniformly over the flange (4) in the case of tensile load on the screws (23), the flange is reinforced by a profiled ring (7), the external edge of which is welded to the internal surface of the pipe connection piece (1) and the internal edge of which is welded to the flange (4). The internal diameter of the flange (4) is smaller than that of the profiled ring (7).
